Ramattra: It's a shame that none of us have ever met Aurora, your predecessor. Echo: I hear that often... What would you have asked her? Ramattra: The same thing I ask every day. I wish she could respond...
Aurora is doing good even after she's gone in the lore too! The Vishkar are a construction and technology company, and they were doing work near a village, and accidentally damaged the local's statue of Aurora. They were a hated corporation, but a hero (symmetra) who was part of Vishkar was sent to repair the statue on Vishkar's behalf, and the relationship was repaired and they became accepted
For me the most special part of all of this is how they portrayed Mina's part in all of this. The most moving scene in all three, for me, was the last part of the first one, where she's witnessing Aurora come to life for the first time. You just see the wonder and pride in her face as she stares in disbelief, moved to tears at what she, her team, and even humanity, managed to accomplish. I also love that the inspiring music takes a sudden turn and becomes tragic, because we all know that this was almost the first chapter in the extinction of the human race. The scene where Aurora has to sacrifice herself is also very moving. Mina, who spent her entire life searching for a way to make the world a better place, ended up creating Aurora. And after fighting for her freedom, she now has to save the world from the danger she indirectly put it in--by killing the thing she spent her whole life trying to create. She gave the most unique lifeform on the planet the gift of life and choice, only to have to snuff it out in just a couple years. The heartbreak in her face as she watches the procedure is intense. And, finally, ending it with Aurora's final words hit deep. You have this one life: choose well. Aurora went into the light, knowing that she chose what she felt was right, and urges all of us to reflect on our life choices in the same way. These anime shorts were a great way to tell more story. It didn't have the big, flashy action set pieces the cgi cinematics have, but it still has the deep, personal narratives that help bond us to the characters and the world they live in. This is why overwatch continues to be one of my favorite game franchises of all time.
I find it interesting how Aurora's story is similar to that of Jesus in the Bible, sacrificing herself to free others, to give them a choice. It gives a whole new perspective to religion of "The Iris" that I presume the Omnic monks in Shambali practice.
I'm pretty sure "The Iris" philosophy and Aurora's word is more of that similar to Buddha, where only through freedom (from all attachments of the world) would one find their own path of enlightenment, which is prob what the Ominc monk in Shambali try to achieve. Still it's great to see perspective from different religions on this matter and how it's not all that difference😁😁😁
@@bolvarfordragon7377 I see, very interesting. Very cool to see this from multiple perspectives. I guess it could even be a bit of both although ultimately it is its own thing ofcourse.
4:51 i dont know if anyone else noticed, but starting here when the Omnica Corp. commercial is running, the narrator says power at your fingertips, then by your side, and then in their hands referring to the Omnics. Its an interseting tidbit, especially knowing how it eventually plays out.
“I wish I could stay” I literally start tearing up when Aurora says that. It’s so sad, she really enjoyed the world but was willing to give that up to help others.
@@pirothix8371 not really. Echo is a new generation of Omnic that is "infected" with the piece of soul Aurora had, like every other Omnic in the Overwatch universe. The only difference between "normal" Omnics and Echo is that Echo was created with the intention of having Mina Liao even after her death, she has data banks of Mina as her "memory". That's why Echo is technically a scientist too
This just makes me sadder that the PVE content for OW2 was scrapped....the PVE stuff was supposed to put the player into those battles that they described and basically play out the Omnic Crisis, everything described in these videos basically.
Huh? I don't remember that. The pve was always advertised as the modern story finally going forward--which we have now. It picks up right after Zero Hour, just like they advertised it would. The only pve content we lost was the hero misisons, which, idk if that was ever going to be tied to the story in any way, but people for some reason keep conflating the cancelled hero missions mode with the pve story--which, I repeat, we in fact received, because it was never cancelled.
please watch "Overwatch Invasion: all cinematics"! this was the prequel to the story so far that started with invasion recently also sojourns cinematic "calling"!
A lot of people need to realize that being knowledgeable and educated in one area doesn't make that person's opinion matter across the board or being known for accomplishing something doesn't mean their opinion is gospel. It's true even moreso in regards to technology and where it's headed. Every generation's "geniuses" think they've reached the peak of what's possible until something new is thought up by someone who has more ideas. We need to not let celebrities in society or popular literature decide what would happen with A.I. before we even really get there. All it does is breed fear for it and eventually influence genuine nutjobs to design, engineer and create the bad outcome themselves on purpose. Then claim it as proof they were right about how bad it is. You can't fix crazed fear mongering but you can stop giving it a platform and pretending celebrities of any societal group somehow predict the future and should be held up like prophets. They aren't, and their heads are inflated if they believe their opinion should affect the world.
I'm still thinking... that Overwatch..with that rich lore and these characters would have worked much better as an animated series, like Castlevania did years ago. Never as a multiplayer game. This is not new but also very touching..and fits in, into the origin story of my favorite anime of all time.. Ghost in the Shell.
I will say studying Computer Science with my peers in a masters program for cyber, they see nothing but pros to pushing the pedal to the medal. I am the same, but my undergrad which was in homeland security has me also rethinking if people are pushing the downsides until the time comes. The age old question of Freedom vs. Security makes this tricking.
@pwpqwq7648 Gonna have to disagree there. Sure, AI has been around for awhile now, but the specific programs released these past few years have dramatically altered discourse around them. That's why there's a strike in the first place lol.
@@ghostchannel4766 I never said they didn't, I'm just saying that AI has been getting big for years now, this specific year isn't any special in that regard
@@pwpqwq7648 I feel like that's inherently contradictory. How can this year not be anything special and at the same time be the year where social action centers around it?
Huh, i was going to ask if you knew of the Genesis Shorts and the latest Origin, Story Trailers, Enigma Trailer and Cinematic of Overwatch, but I guess that has been answered for me, I hope to see you do the rest of the latest of Overwatch. But, anyway, yeah this is pretty much a tale as old as time at this point, but one that might still be worth considering.
Though our 'A.I' is nowhere near the level of the Overwatch universe even in the most rudimentary ways. In fact calling the programs we have 'A.I' to me is really a misnomer, they are in my opinion just Algorithmic Engines. There is no context behind anything the programs do and they are at current completely incapable of understanding it. When we do actually manage to create True A.I it will be both wondrous and terrifying at the same time.
Hey, now since you’ve done all Bosses of the First Ultimate Ninja Storm Game, I can now recommend the Boss Fights of the Second Game, Specifically, Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 All Bosses by NintenU, Whenever you’re up for it, you could have it as a potential Fight Night Friday, at some point. If you’re still interested of course.
I must admit.. what Aurora is.. that could be the missing link.. what Detroit Become Human never could achieve. What is the full form of rA9 ? Aurora is.. the first robot in history who understand what life is all about. Just a thought.

"Stone by Stone" is probably the best Overwatch story.
