I know nobody thinks much of Disco Inferno & he wasn't much of a worker. However, he was good at what he was, someone you enjoyed watching get beat up. He was a comedy heel who would run his mouth & get his ass beat for it. He was never meant to be anything more, so job well done.
I agree. He isnt much at all, but I enjoyed the character. He was an opening match Honky Tonk Man which isn't bad at all. Say what you want about Honky Tonk he was a strong mid to upper mid card character who could main event B and C shows. While I always felt Disco was a bit underrated, nobody is a bigger fan of Disco Infero, than Disco himself. Disco wasn't agile enough to be a high-flyer, wasn't big or strong enough to be a power-slammer, he really wasn't tough-looking enough to be a vicious brawler and he wasn't a technician. But he had good execution of moves and he was athletic enough to give good matches. Not great, but very good. His character was ridiculous and certainly not world champion material (Glenn isn't either), but it wss a dumb low-card gimmick and he made it work well at the mid card status. The PROBLEM is Disco's annoying real-life personality and exaggerated stories and overblown sense of self-importance.
Disco shrugged off Cody's comments pretty well and professionally. What he said wasn't a lie. Guys are gonna have shorter careers wrestling carelessly and with so many guys wrestling the same style, no one will care to remember them in 10 years.
