He took the words out of my mouth when I realized double enshroud was possible under arcane crest, but the execution to accomplish it has too much of a cost on my sanity to try.
@@Winter_Rune I just Enshroud and immediately pop Arcane Circle after without worrying about cooldowns lining up. I used to worry about Gluttony and my Soul Slice/Scythe cooldowns drifting but then I realized I value my sanity and now I just pop them when they're up without worrying if they all line up perfectly.

Reaper is just fun as hell imo because it has the visual flair and fills with dopamine you will smile playing it. Nothing is wrong with easy playstyle.

I'm just gonna pretend that I knew that Void/Cross reaping didn't have positionals but still pop True North while in hyper shroud to make sure the other people in my group who don't play Melee think that I'm smarter than I really am.
I'm with ya man, that honestly hurt a bit finding out. I thought the read the tool tips. My mind just assumed what I would think is logical.
I think most have done it at least once.
RIP for people that still haven't noticed TN's cooldown matches gallows/gibbet use, and therefore think RPR has positionals at all nearly a year after the class went live.
Literally the first thing I noticed from the 2021 fan fest footage was that it did, and immediately asked why even bother giving them positionals in the first place.
that quiet little "oh! look at how cute she is" at 3:39 speaks to my soul in ways I cannot put into words.
I literally went two whole months thinking there were positionals in Shroud. I main the class and I had to reread them after someone pointed it out to me.

Double enshroud is so funny I kinda love it, even if it weirdly compares to red mage, who's melee combo due to 3 finishers is so long you cant fully double combo in raid buffs.

Im forced to use more than 4 fingers to play its literally the hardest job in the game
that feel when people think any class is harder than any of the others in a game where every job is on a 2.5s GCD. The gatekeeping in FFXIV is monstrously laughable and quite honestly not surprising in the slightest given there's 0 other content to bitch about with 4 boss raid tiers and only a single custom delivery or beast tribe quest every 9 months.

@@vaniccinav5707 I mean I think there's definitely some variance. MNK has a quick GCD, Brotherhood weaving is kinda nightmarish and you have a lot of small things to pay attention to, from the timers to your buffs and so on. But I do agree with the general take. Within the same role, all jobs are roughly the same difficulty. Some are harder in terms of their kits, others have some things that need more skill on a skill-by-skill basis, but they're all roughly the same. Like, is RPR easier than MNK and NIN? Yeah, I would say. Is it significantly easier to the point it's really worth talking about? I don't think so.
@@aiu941 MNK is significantly harder than the other melees. Anyone that says otherwise has either only ever played MNK or never played MNK lmfao, and honestly, any Job mains not BLM or MNK gatekeeping other jobs saying they're too easy is laughable. (Well gatekeeping in general is laughable to begin with but you get my point lmfao)
@@aiu941 And I say this as a RPR main. Reaper is SIGNIFICANTLY easier than MNK. I was a SAM main in SB and I can safely say though, current SAM is quite a bit easier than RPR. Actually current SAM is probably the easiest job currently in the game if you count the usual TankHealerRangedMage responsibilities. But this difference I do agree falls in your point of "not significant enough to be mentioned"

the job has been out for like 8 months now, how have you not read your tooltips. jesus this is why the game is getting nerfed into simple stuff, no one is reading or learning.
@@justsomeguy4422 i read my tool tips just fine but I assumed cross reaping and void reaping were just enhanced gibbet and gallows. It was a faulty assumption on my part and while the job has been out for 8 months, I’ve only been playing for 4 most of which was the msq on another job
I think it's fair to assume that these enhanced versions of the skills have positionals, but at the same time, my intuition told me that them having a reduced GCD at 1.5s meant the devs didn't want you running back and forth between rear and flank. Reading the tooltips pretty much confirmed this.

Chair in his prime in this video. I now also have to admit, I was one of those that didn't relaize the gallows and gibbet upgrade don't use positionals....I've been using true north every time I turn shroud to counter nothing....
Maybe we'll get necromancer as a new class to round out the trifecta of darkness and suffering.

nah i hope not. Its way too clunky for this already struggling game. Sometimes your characters just stays invisible for a few seconds after leaving enshroud. Sometimes animations dont show properly.

the distractions to keep you from your distractions line is too real man. Its like watching yourself do these things and knowing that other things must be done but being stuck being distracted because coming to terms with the emotions involved would undo you.
Reaper being simple works for me due to being half awake most of the time. Ah the joys of a night shift and messed up sleep.

I'm currently releveling Reaper on my main. Haven't played it in a couple months after I promptly forgot about my alt that I leveled it on first so this hits at just the right time. Also, I alternate between MCH and RDM as my main jobs depending on how I'm feeling so speed and simplicity is kinda my bread and butter.
RPR is all fun and game until you found yourself in latest ultimate and start competing with MCH for misery index.
joking, MCH is still the most miserable, can't compete with such peak misery.
@Captain Orsson Main issue of RPR is DSR in current ilvl have tight DPS check, due to long downtime of DSR and most RPR burst require constant build up of resource, it result in significantly lower rdps, especially when compare to NIN/MNK. Generally, you want everything in your favor when progging ultimate, as the content is tightly tuned at ilvl 600.

I asked in a previous video but will attempt to ask one more time here, i began samurai AFTER the Kaiten changes (currently at sam85) so i dont have first hand experience. But doesnt the changes make it to where you weave in more ogcd attacks? How much of a loss is there really if the moves you were going to use kaiten on now basically auto kaiten themselves? Is it more just because samurai doesnt "feel" as good without it even tho the changes arent bad on paper?
I mained summoner before endwalker and so while new smn is fine (needs a lot of work) i miss the feeling of getting the job down right before it was changed and now it doesnt feel complete currently. Is that same reason why you and many others are mad about losing Kaiten?
I am NOT trying to defend the changes or argue, i am legitimately seeking to understand why this is such a big deal for so many people since i didnt experience samurai before these changes and personally find it very fun atm.
The sad truth is, it's just simplified. All you care now is to not overcap kenki and to be able to spend as much of it in buffs. Before you had 'fixed' kenki expenditure to buff your iaitjutsu (won't even discuss senei) so it required more attention from the player's part.
It's lowering of the skill ceiling while also removing an aesthetic from the job that was appealing to a lot of players without giving anything in return (in fact, due to the nature of job synergy, sam was indirectly nerfed since they literally cannot benefit from stuff like tech step, litany, chain stratagem etc for a good part of their damage source)
My understanding isn’t that Kaiten changes are a DPS loss or anything, though it now conflicts with Crit Buffers like DRG. Kaiten was just flavorful and subjectively “more fun” than weaving in extra shintens.
As someone whose only gripe on old summoner was always having to mind pet position, new summoner feels like my brain will become an oval or straight up just a shiny orb from the lack of thought I have to put on it besides trying to not drift your button to do big damage and then reset stones, since having to move kinda screws the few seconds of leeway you usually have to press it when using ifrit. Miss my DoTs.

Does the way that Chair said to do double enshroud vs the way the Balance shows how to do double enshroud matter? Same buttons but instead of hittind deaths design 2x in a row they spread it out. Been trying to get into Reaper as my main alt job and maybe try it in savage in the future.
I actually like Chair's version better because the Balance version makes it so your 1st enshroud is a different sequence of buttons (because your weaving your deaths design into it) and it reaallly throws me off. Chair's version just gets the BS degenerate shit out of the way right away so you can do both enshrouds normally.
Chair's version can push the 2nd Communio and subsequent Gluttony outside of 15s raid buffs depending on buff alignment, as it's forcing 3 extra seconds of GCDs (reaping actions) into that section.
The version chair shows is also gonna push your Arcane Circle behind by 1s with every 2m and will desync your AC from other raid buffs and potentially out of burst. It‘s more selfish and worse for yourself and your party.
How many Chairs are there?

im just curious, does anyone else bind all of a classes buttons before evenh unlocking them to not have to suffer default layout for even half a second and yo get used to where future buttons are, that too.
I do this these days. I started in shadowbringers. I usually have to rearrange things when I get a better understanding of the job but it's better than not thinking about it at all.

i started playing reaper because i needed asap a dps so i could farm in bozja (i was a pld main before that) and honestly i kinda regretted it but i had no choice if i wanted to maximize time since it starts at level 70, i really hope in some huge changes with the coming of dawntrail cuz otherwise i just wasted time this job is kinda dogshit now

Just gotta say the whole difficulty thing in general I don't get. But then again I'm the sort that is spending my time in ffxiv replaying the msq with new game plus so perhaps I'm odd.
Course I hardly can even do savage content. My group is stuck on kampeos harma in p2s and soon we won't have enough people anyway because of them leaving for wotlk.
