I'm not talking about Samurai with Hissatsu (Hidden Technique): Kaiten (Turn the Heavens) boosted MidareSetsugekka (Chaos Slash- Snow, Moon, Flowers) either, and this skill is only usable by one who has mastered the peerless concentration of the warrior's state of mind, doing a total of 990 potency. No, I'm talking about Samurai possessing the secret technique Hissatsu: Senei (Thousand Blades), a more powerful version of Hissatsu: Guren that does 800 potency to a single foe, and who has mastered Tsubame-gaeshi, the technique of the REGEND Sasaki Koijiro, enabling him to perform Kaeshi (Reversal) forms of his most powerful abilities, which allows him to unleash his ultimate combo of Kaiten: Higanbana, followed by Hissatsu: Senei in the space between his next move Kaiten:MidareSetsugekka, and finally Tsubame-Gaeshi unleashes Kaeshi:MidareSetsugekka dealing 990 immediately, followed by the destructive power of Ogi Namikiri (Secret Wave Slash) dealing an additional 1200, activated by the Ikishoten (Bookstore to go) stance, and Kaeshi:Namakiri for yet another 1200 potency. This is great, I've been recently working on my Sam and a lot of this is true. Also Just playing Sam is easier compared to others, EI. my main is a blackmage
I feel like I'm being gaslit sometimes. You did used to generate more Kenki from Positionals, right? I thought he was joking. But I can't find proof... Did I fall into the Berenstein Bears universe? Edit: Great, I just realized the Meikyo Shisui triangle is upside down from the Sen Gauge, but that's always been like that... right?!
SAM had positionals. It's not on the tooltip of the weaponskills themselves though iirc. It's on a Trait. This part I'm not sure about though. Now they changed it so you get Kenki regardless of position and the positionals are inherent to the skills, and adds Potency instead. Source: Samurai main since Stormblood to Shadowbringers.
I’m a crafter main 1st then a Sam main. And I don’t do any of these extra sweaty rotations. I have my own openers and fillers as well as how I manage my sen, ki etc. I don’t have a problem clearing any of the content I decide to play. Secret is, find your flow that is natural, comfortable AND fun, then play. I’ll never be in the top percentile in dmg and I’m ok with that. I’m more concerned about my merch being sold yet or not so I can recraft and restock. That’s where my true end game is 🙅🏻♂️🤣
By chance did you get the base for your hotbars by installing Fr4nsson's FFXIV Config at one point? I ask because mine are pretty close and I've only been playing since Jun.
I picked up Samurai last week, leveling it is boring as hell. 3 hours into HoH queues and I just got so tired so I tried doing FATEs to level and the XP is pitiful. Thanks for the redirect on the leveling help, I'm grateful for it. However, having only played the job for maybe like, a week or two, I don't understand how the fuck anyone could play this job and not be dying to mash the shit out of Midare Setsugekka the moment they have all three Sen. The moment I unlocked Kaiten I knew it was meant to devour health bars with disgusting Setsugekka crits.
I don't get why they don't change the cooldown of Tsubame based on skill speed like the cooldowns on machinist, the filler stuff is feels kinda counter intuitive and is the sort of thing you would probably never come up with on your own.
Then it would shift it out of partybuffs which feels bad. And the current system is a great way for samurai to have some extra flexibility and a higher skillceiling.
Really appreciate these guides and your humor, out of curiosity will the old shadowbringer era guides stay up? Even if they are no longer as accurate I enjoy putting them on as background noise, your dry delivery and humor make them still immensely entertaining.

Rip kaiten maybe we’ll get it back one day and they’ll change shoha to a single button. I went edgy potato and am slowly relearning the ways to weeb again.
I'm just impressed on how well you can pronounce Japanese.
just for info: for the new sage class you have to remember lot of greek terms
in FF14 you will learn weird stuff all the time.... :D
Wait why doesn't the Balance like you? Did I miss something? Another fantastic video!!
"If you find a way to press Ikishoten and miss, please let me know"
Me: -sweats cuz I attempted to practice on my FC's leve 90 practice dummy when I'm level 80-
Before this video: 0 dps, no facial hair, no girlfriend, 1.0 GPA, plays Raid: shadow legends, tattoo that says "do not revive", phd in theology
After this video: Grey dps, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090, 0 to 60 in 1 second, 989 horsepower, Olympic gold medal in synchronised swimming, 360 pop shove-it with no hands
Thanks *poorly made seat,* you've changed my life
lmao at your fuckin pronunciation that shit was phenomenal, the flat af low dead pan "fuka" followed by totally normal explanation had me dieing
Finally a 100% Accurate guide thank you for teaching me the Waze
This video made me love samurai again, thanks.
I see Larryzaur lent you his Bahamut daki.
Loved this! Great intro! Great weeb thrashing! Also, a good guide for SAMs!
Yes you are absolutely right. Ninja is a Physical Ranged DPS
My brain is too smooth for samurai 😵💫
Wait I can buy a cover for my dakimakura... Misshapen Chair why have you not told me this sooner.. you know why we are here and you have been holding back on us. What else can you teach me Senpai.
you will touch it "she is not real"
Update for after the removal of Kaiten?
Can anyone advise on the Glam that Misshappen is using? Most interested in chest/legs. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Great video. Can't wait for the PLD one
I don't have or do any of the following but I do like vergil from devil may cry
Also the amount of malice in his voice after every "this is how it has always worked" just screams I didn't read tooltips for the first week of launch
This is great, I've been recently working on my Sam and a lot of this is true. Also Just playing Sam is easier compared to others, EI. my main is a blackmage
RIP kaiten. All hail higan banana
Just in time for when I was able to FINALLY consistently get into the game in order to level and play SAM again (though my glam is shit)
This man has experienced the A&J 2WT? Truly a master.
I use yaten for greed, just like I would use Elusive jump on dragoon most of the time for, every time I do I get the meme in my head "I'm in danger"
Gonna have to do another video lol Kaiten is gone
This video is chock full of culture.
Somehow I can't believe you people can actually follow all of this. This is insane.
Naming these skills so smooth I didnt need to butter my sandwich
That was the best intro ive ever heard lmfao jesus
Ahh wonderful video as always
Oh, I thought I was the only one who didn't like his hotbars, but I'm too lazy to think about how it would be more comfortable so... Nice :D
Lmfao you're my favourite FF14 creator. Such good work bro
I feel like I'm being gaslit sometimes. You did used to generate more Kenki from Positionals, right? I thought he was joking. But I can't find proof... Did I fall into the Berenstein Bears universe?
Edit: Great, I just realized the Meikyo Shisui triangle is upside down from the Sen Gauge, but that's always been like that... right?!
me when i swear i’ve never seen positionals on the tooltips lol
It's true, but when you unlock the passive skill at lv 62 that generates 5 Kenki every time you use a GCD it's hard to notice.
I can confirm that Gecko and Kasha would generate 5 Kenki on hit, and 5 *extra* Kenki when you successfully landed the positional.
And yes. Meikyo Shisui has always been upside down.
Sorry mister, i just came across your Video... but i cant find the Kaiten spell you are talking about.
And most important read vagabond, drifiters, blade of imortal XDA
I’m a crafter main 1st then a Sam main. And I don’t do any of these extra sweaty rotations. I have my own openers and fillers as well as how I manage my sen, ki etc. I don’t have a problem clearing any of the content I decide to play. Secret is, find your flow that is natural, comfortable AND fun, then play. I’ll never be in the top percentile in dmg and I’m ok with that. I’m more concerned about my merch being sold yet or not so I can recraft and restock. That’s where my true end game is 🙅🏻♂️🤣
ah yes, the new ranged caster. Samurai
By chance did you get the base for your hotbars by installing Fr4nsson's FFXIV Config at one point? I ask because mine are pretty close and I've only been playing since Jun.
"He, is me." - Yeah I felt that.
Nice video bro, if possible can you do a part 2 on this and explain the gear and material required for SAM? You're awesome!
holy shit they added samurai to this game???
It's been 5 years.
how would you rank the 6 glowing SAM Relic (SB and SHB) in terms of design?
7:12 I'm a level 90 SAM and I didnt actually know that.
I don't get why they don't change the cooldown of Tsubame based on skill speed like the cooldowns on machinist, the filler stuff is feels kinda counter intuitive and is the sort of thing you would probably never come up with on your own.
It also worked like that with shadow fang(rip).
Then it would shift it out of partybuffs which feels bad. And the current system is a great way for samurai to have some extra flexibility and a higher skillceiling.
@@magnusaber1 that's true hadn't thought of that, I dunno, maybe make it so 2 midares give you a tsubame charge?
she is real aaaaaa
This caster lookin lit. Might try it instead of summoner
I spat my coffee at Higanbanana, i wasn't ready. I've a Friend who mains SAM who needs to watch this XD;
Im too distracted by the dungeon run with the Eukrasian Diagnosis spamming Sage who doesnt have Kardia on the tank to learn anything ;-;
Really appreciate these guides and your humor, out of curiosity will the old shadowbringer era guides stay up? Even if they are no longer as accurate I enjoy putting them on as background noise, your dry delivery and humor make them still immensely entertaining.
It begins again
Thank you for the guide. Your sense of humor is hilarious and the information really helped me learn SAM. Can't wait for your future content!
"Makes you do damage damager" fucking slayed me.
My brain just exploded 🤯💥
