    One of my favorite runs of all time. I still remember me and my friends gathering in the school library to talk about each issue. That climax that you mention absolutely blew us away. A true game changing run that influenced so much that came after.

      100% agree! What a time it would of been to be young and experiencing a comic book like this for the first time!

    TYLAHHHHH ! Another fabulous review bro ! This is just like you said, LEGENDARY ! Miller changed the game on Daredevil with his run. I might be in trouble saying this but Miller’s run is the GOAT but Brubaker’s run is my favorite. Great review man. 🤘🏾

    This was another stellar review! Thank you, as always, for sharing!
    I would say that the Diggle run is not great. "Shadowland" is hated by many, and, having reread it recently, it still is not great.
    I love Miller's run, but I like the multi-year continuing saga that we can argue begins in the Bendis run and continues to this day!

    • @Illuminerdy_
      @Illuminerdy_  Рік тому +1

      I would agree in saying the Diggle run isn’t great but I’d still say it’s not a HORRIBLE run. I feel it’s typically hated mainly because of the change to daredevil (characters changes are never received well) as well as daredevil being typically held to a higher standard.
      I would also agree that the bendis run into modern stuff is top tier stuff and the only reason I give millers run a hand up in the comparison is because of its historical value to the hobby and character but other then that they both are top tier stuff.

      I can definitely agree with the feelings about Miller. Everyone has their own rankings.
      I personally loved the opening arc for Diggle's run, but I could not stand the "Shadowland" crossover due to how Diggle portrayed not just Matt but other characters.
      I enjoyed more of the tie-ins than I did the main event.
      Everyone likes and dislikes different things, though.

      @@DBZALLSTAR yeah I think I’m just a sucker for when heroes “go bad” even tho that’s such a trope and since shadowland was that I enjoyed it some what, for sure the bottom tier of DD tho.

      I am a fan of those stories, too, as long as there is a purpose and a clear direction.
      The death of Bullseye, and I am stating that because the story is over a decade old at this point and therefore not a spoiler, comes off as an edge lord, to borrow the language of the young people, move and not something Matt would do even under demonic influence.
      However, I could see Matt committing the same act if Bullseye had murdered someone close to Matt yet again, like if he decided to kill his most recent wife.
      I do like that the event allowed Matt to finally confront the fact that he had suffered love and was grieving but not processing the trauma, but I think the Waid run that followed Diggle's fully explored Matt's mental health.

    • @Illuminerdy_
      @Illuminerdy_  Рік тому +1

      @@DBZALLSTAR see I’m actually not a huge fan of waids run as much as other people haha I didn’t much like the lighter tone and change of setting even tho I really did enjoy the art and depiction of Matt’s “vision”. But like you said everyone has such different tastes and it’s really interesting to explore that during conversations like this.

    Do you recommend skipping to #168 when Frank Miller takes over the writing, cause I heard the first few issues when he was just the penciler are a slog to get through.

    • @Illuminerdy_
      @Illuminerdy_  Рік тому +1

      I don’t recommend it only so your able to read all the content in the Omni so you get your moneys worth, BUT yes the earlier issues when Miller is only doing just the pencils are a bit rough around the edges story wise for me.
      So if you want to skip them I think you will be fine but that’s up to you!
      Hope that helps!
