I'm a little disappointed that Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation wasn't Leatherface and his family Vs the crew of the starship enterprise. Lol.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Disturbing Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2: Ridiculous and crazy Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 Leatherface: Not bad but not good Texas Chainsaw Massacre 4: Awful
Something I’ve noted about Leatherface that makes him different from all the other killers is that you’d expect him to be top dog in the series, but really he’s just subservient to his family.
My god...The Matthew Mcconaughey oscar montage must be one of the most amazing thing I've seen in YT in a long time. Absolutely fucking beautiful. Thanks man :D
Right on James. I find movies about real things that could really happen like serial killers far more scary than any movie about demons or ghosts or possessions.
It's my favourite film of all time, newer ones may have more gore... But the original is insane, the characters are truly crazy and such a joy to watch, you just go into a trance of "wtf is wrong with these people, this feels real" because it does, how it's acted, shot, scored, everything, makes it feel real like you're watching foud footage, and the amount of mental torture that every character goes through, even Leatherface and Drayton both are not always having fun, they're scared and confused, and the amount of screaming and chainsaw noises... The chase scene in this film is the most real feeling chase scene I've ever seen.
The two original films remind me of Gremlins and its sequel, as both original films are much darker whereas the sequels focus on comedy. As surpassing or even equaling the original films is a tall order, creating something quite different maintains the films legacy whilst providing entertainment for the audience. Edit: I am the Lord of the Harvest!
For me, what made the original Texas Chainsaw so scary wasn't only that it COULD be real, but it also LOOKED real. It looked like crap visually, but that's what made it so scary. There wasn't even much gore on show, but it was shot in such a way that your mind filled in the blanks. You remember it being WAY more gory than it is.
Gein wasn't a serial killer. He was predominantly a grave robber. He did murder two people, but you gotta get 3 before you're technically a serial killer.
He's actually pretty ignorant of the history of these films. At 5:55 he says "did the MPAA not see CHAINSAW 2?". Uh, they gave part 2 the X rating as well, but Cannon decided against cutting it and instead released it unrated.
Even though the 2nd movie was a comedy I still think Chop Top is one of the scariest and most menacing villains on film. I'm pushing 40 and watching him still gives me an uneasy feeling.
It's stylistically designed to be that way so you can't change it. It's like poetry so it rhymes. So, hopefully it'll work. You see McConaughey's the key to all of this. Because he's a funnier character than we've ever had before. So, hopefully it'll work. It's so DENSE.
No matter how many times I see the Oscar scene I still laugh my ass off! Nice work James. But man I fear for the next October. You have spoken about every movie and even combined all the movie series into 1 video too! Eh guess you will find something to do.
After Dennis Hopper's character gave up photojournalism and left Colonel Kurtz's compound in southeast Asia, he moved to Texas under an assumed name and became a sheriff.
So basically every Texas Chainsaw Massacre film is a remake, what a fuckin mess. Glad I only watched the original, I much prefer a dark, serious and realistic tone when it comes to serial killer films.
He didn't include the newest ones. There was a remake in the 2000s and a prequel to the remake and both were quite good so I'm a bit disappointed he didn't include them.
The last actual Video Review featured was from 2013, the year after the 3-D one. Why he didn't include the Platinum Dunes ones is anyone's guess though.
The OG The 03 remake and the beginning are my personal favorites. Leatherface is my all time favorite slasher. The realism of the original and the fact it’s not all that crazy to think it could actually be real.
The only Texas chainsaw movies I saw were: -The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) -The Texas Chainsaw massacre (2003) -The Texas chainsaw massacre the beginning ( 2006 ) And finally, Texas chainsaw 3D in 2013. I never saw 2, 3, 4, or leatherface. Lol
I Would Say Friday The 13th Had The Most Ridiculous Sequel's After Part 3 It Went To Hell Literally Jason Vs Freddy Was Pretty Cool Than The Remakes Came And I Was Evermore Disappointed Than I Was From The Original Trilogy
Scott besednjak Friday 1-5 are not very ridiculous at all aside from a few wacky characters, 6 added even more slapstick that was introduced with 5 but it was still not that ridiculous, 7 added the psychic girl which isn't that ridiculous either, 8 is very ridiculous being in New York and having loads of weird scenes that make no sense but still it's not incredibly ridiculous, 9 made no sense whatsoever even the film makers didn't know what was going on in the film while making it, i'd say 9 is pretty ridiculous with all the weird Jason slug body swapping shit, 10 is just straight up ridiculous.. it's Jason in space and nothing was meant to be serious that's the point, Freddy Vs Jason again was meant to be pretty ridiculous but if they didn't make it like that having a crossover probably wouldn't work too well, the remake (although it's not REALLY a remake, it's more like a sequel that recaps a bit at the beginning and that's about it) is by far the least ridiculous since parts 5-7, i wouldn't say it's that ridiculous but yes in comparison to TCM, Halloween ext it is rather ridiculous.... god how many times to i have to say ridiculous haha.
I just watched part two recently, and I’m convinced that Ron Howard got the inspiration for the grinch’s Lair from the family’s Lair in TCM part two. Just all the openness and vibrant colors and creepy decorations.
Shooting backroad signs from a moving car is a time honored Texan tradition. Even now, virtually every neglected county road in this state has at least two or three bullet holes.
This movie hands down is the absolute best horror film ever made. The shoestring budget only added to the gritty realism. Many times during it's release people actually walked out of the theater, not because they thought the movie was bad, but because they were genuinely traumatized by it.
"this is one time where I think there shouldn't be a number in the title" "it's not a sequel it's a parody" That's exactly how I felt about the force awakens

He spells "Food" for the clown, because the clown looks like a person, and Leatherface is a cannibal, thus food.
i thought James would have put that together. maybe he was playing the fool.
Did the clown taste funny?

I’m disappointed on how they handled Leatherface
Probably would've been better than what we got
Riker would probably bang Leatherface.
There was also Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Deep Space Nine
I don't care what everyone says, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Voyager is still my favorite Movie
Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Disturbing
Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2: Ridiculous and crazy
Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 Leatherface: Not bad but not good
Texas Chainsaw Massacre 4: Awful
I could not agree with you more this is a great take on the whole series of the Texas chainsaw massacre movies...
Yes, that is a pretty good summary.
I agree
TCM3 felt like it tried to go back to the roots but still holding onto some of the crazy aspect of TCM2.
BIG BANGGGG Texas chainsaw next generation xD
Clown = dead guy
Dead guy = food
Leather face is a cannibal
I think the clown is suppose to refrence leatherface's pretty lady mask
Something I’ve noted about Leatherface that makes him different from all the other killers is that you’d expect him to be top dog in the series, but really he’s just subservient to his family.
My god...The Matthew Mcconaughey oscar montage must be one of the most amazing thing I've seen in YT in a long time. Absolutely fucking beautiful. Thanks man :D
It seems that Resident Evil 7 has the same vibe as Texas Chainsaw Massacre the original.
Well, of course
Right on James. I find movies about real things that could really happen like serial killers far more scary than any movie about demons or ghosts or possessions.
There's ONLY ONE for me: the original 1974.
RIP: Gunnar, Marilyn, Paul & now director/writer Tobe Hooper. You've all made one HELL OF A MOVIE!
Not one, not two, not three, but FOUR murders? No wonder they are all Ripped Into Pieces. They were massacred by that chainsaw wielding Leatherface
9:49 Matthew mcconaughey should use that scene whenever he gets a oscar
He got 1 with white boy rick
The original Texas chainsaw massacre is my all time favorite slasher film!
It's good, but a bit tame compared to it's rep

Chainsaw massacre 2 actually freaked me the F out when I was a kid. I still think it's one of the craziest ones.
