I'm obsessed with anything Eddie Redmayne - from his Eton pics to choir singing- to movies- to interviews- to Oscar acceptance speech - this young gent is just super- duper WOW!!!!!!!
+violet640 Yeah, but don't forget, you don't want to be a home wrecker. I'm going through the same thing while also remembering to ground myself, because it sucks that he's taken. I've been on a heartthrob search since the great Cumberbatch was taken. I think Ellar Coltrane from Boyhood is a good contender. Other than that, all that matters is that they are happy, but most of the good ones are taken so I have to control my fantasies.
This is how he sang when he was 18. What can I do at the age of 18? Well, I can speak English as a foreign language quite well; probably I've forgotten how to draw the way I used to do it when I went to an art school; I'm not good at singing and playing the guitar; I'm nothing at sports; fortunately, I didn't go to a theatre University because I would fail. This means he is truly gifted, as many people say.
Agreed. I love opera, and was thrilled to hear sing like this. Years ago, I attended a school run by the Episcopal Church (the American equivalent to the Cof E) and I sang in an a cappella choir similar to this. It was fun. I'll bet he had a great time, too.
He does have a musical background, as he received singing lessons and flute lessons while at Eton College. I know because I have flute lessons at Eton and my teacher was in a flute ensemble and taught for a bit. :)
As I'm studying in ecclesiastic schools since the age of 6 (first, in elementary and now in a Benedictine High School in Hungary) and I do believe in God, it's a piece of cake hearing one of my favourite actors singing in a religious composition like this. Believer or not, he's a great role model I think.
some persons are great blessings and are throwing right in their beginning their sparks into the future - they spread their light and give us a notion of what to come. And we are looking forward to them... they enrich the world and our hearts
this kind of proves that he actually has a musical background. He had singing lessons, was trained as part of choirs, and is already developed as a musician. He may not have a background in musical theatre, but he has been trained.
Already a real Eddie fan, stage, TV and cinema but now to hear him sing this piece and the Ave Maria I am all goosebumps here in Bondi, Australia! No wonder he has a part in the new film version of Les Mis; can't wait to see and hear it. B
My gosh is there more clips of him singing? I genuinely love his voice and he can really sing! It's not fair that he showed what he's capable of with Les Miz and then starve those who are intrigued with so few openly available clips of his singing!
Was lucky enough to see him sing live in Cabaret and let me tell you, Les Mis doesn't do him justice. He is angelic and powerful. Even more so live. I'm desperate for a Cabaret album.
Eddie Redmayne is the sort of senior school choir guy who I would have the biggest crush on if he went to my school and everyone else would turn their nose up to not recognising his talents which would become a global success in the future
Man it sucks i didn’t grow up at the same time or in the same schools with him. I would have loved to sing in my varsity choir with him and go to nationals:))) he has such a beautiful voice. I’ve always been able to sing very well from a young age, but there’s something about being able to sing at a more male pitch that I really like-I wish I could go as low as a guy could. But then again,-I wouldn’t give up my high pipes in performing Queen of the night for anything lol. I love singing high. But I wish I could also sing low:(
Excuse me, but what about Aaron Tveit? He is a seasoned broadway performer. Also, every single one of the les amis (with the exception of George Blagden who plays Grantaire) was a west end performer, most of whom had performed in the 25th Anniversary!
Omg at the organ chord around 4:05 I totally expected Phantom of the Opera for a second Haha. Bringing a whole box of tissues for I Dreamed a Dream, Bring Him Home and Empty Chairs for Les Mis!!!!
Just realizing that he went to Eton, not Harrow or the other famous boarding school. I don't know how boarding schools are set up, but I think he's a classmate of Prince William.

wow - just imagine hearing his voice in person. bound to give chills
He is a wonderful actor and has a beautiful voice . I love his eyes ... Yes , blessed ...
He wasnt as good and clean in Les Mis but I believe it was because of the intense emotional approach it was given. This man can sing.
He said the songs in les mis wasn't in his range, and he only realised at the oscars performance that he could have asked to have his songs adjusted 🙈
*hugs my laptop* This is perfection.
how does God make him so gifted?
JungWon Lee So true.
Everything he does is just right. He is blessed.
His voice is so beautiful I'm almost in tears. Is there any thing Eddie cannot do?

You do speak English as a foreign language quite well.
I love him even more now.

Eddie had flute lessons?
Eddie having flute lessons make me 10 time more proud of playing the flute
What beautiful lyrical tenor does this young man have.
he's an angel 👼

this kind of proves that he actually has a musical background. He had singing lessons, was trained as part of choirs, and is already developed as a musician. He may not have a background in musical theatre, but he has been trained.
i'm being transported into another world with this
Que voz absurdamente linda!! Eddie é super talentoso.
what a gorgeous tenor voice... he'd do well in opera. I can totally hear him doing Handel and Mozart, maybe some Rossini and Donizetti.

What an absolutely GORGEOUS voice!!!! Beautiful support and control. And his tone is so fluid and rich! I approve. I love him even more :)
Already a real Eddie fan, stage, TV and cinema but now to hear him sing this piece and the Ave Maria I am all goosebumps here in Bondi, Australia! No wonder he has a part in the new film version of Les Mis; can't wait to see and hear it. B

Please excuse my fangirling, but I just have to say that he is such a babe yet such a gentleman at the same time!

4:04 am I the only one that the phantom of the opera was about to commence???
Holy shit!
Agreed on that he'd be an amazing Raoul!
Eddie Redmayne sings Shenandoah
Did anyone see him in Les Miserables? He is outstanding in it, along with Gerard Butler, Amanda Seyfried and Anne Hathaway!
Hes good but I think Aaron Tveit is better
Just realizing that he went to Eton, not Harrow or the other famous boarding school. I don't know how boarding schools are set up, but I think he's a classmate of Prince William.
