I wish I could show you, Hollars, what your channel did for our family. Not only did my teens learn how to plant food and create so much health that I was able to get healed and out of bed, but they have turned their subdivision garden (almost all of our backyard is a garden) into enough food that the only thing I have to buy is meat during Spring to Fall. Thank you!!! Your channel has been a huge blessing from the Father. I never thought I could get well enough to be planting along side of my teens.
Praise the Lord for your recovery and continued healing. I am so happy to hear what your boys have done for you in planting such a garden. Give yourself credit too as you raised these boys well and they stepped up to the plate. God Bless you all.
Watching Buggy's face while her big brother drives the lawnmower is precious. When Buggy asked if she could eat the tree and she looked up to her big brother for the answer and the way he answred was lovely . Farming through the eyes of a child is a beautiful ting to behold. Thanks for sharing. Watching the boys handle the equipment my thought was, they have more skills then most adults.
Great job, good Job boys. A dad with his Sons are a Blessing to see. It's nice to see young men learning what it takes to have a Land that gives back. To provide for your family. I love to see your baby girl, involved. She wants to eat. Buggie is adorable. That was cool to watch 👍🙏
Two of my kids were inspired by your journey to take the big steps required to make a change in their life. They cleaned out, sold off and gave great thought to what was important for themselves and their family. Great movements almost always start with a few pioneering souls.
I watched your live video with Flannel Farms the other night. It cracked me up when Ben let his hair down and the host started calling him Homestead Jesus LOL! And it was sweet of him to say that Meg's editing skills make him look smarter than he is. I am loving the videos lately with the whole family involved, even though I missed seeing Meg do any cooking tonight! You guys have a great Channel. Hopefully all your your trees thrive
How exciting to be planting fruit trees can imagine in years to come how big and bountiful they’re going to get for your family to enjoy and grandchildren too❤️🇨🇦❤️
Tree planting looks great. Always amazed that the boys are such good help and so good to their sister. Keep it up boys! she is definitely learning form both Mom & Dad. Boys too. they will grow up to be great Mom and Dads & have learned many skills in their young lives. Congrats Mom & Dad great training.
I love how excited you are about trees. I had a mentor of sorts, a Pediatrician, who was such a good person, a wonderful man taken from us too soon, but I found out on his obituary that he had taken upon himself to reforest part of his farm, and over 10 years planted more than 1600 trees. God bless each little sapling, I am excited for you when they all grow.
Wow! You have really got yourselves an amazing future food forest going there. Everytime we travel by your place, I smile because of the blessing you are to the surrounding area, as well as all of us who watch from a distance. You're God's little squirrels, just a planting all kinda stuff everywhere! Journey On!😊❤🙏
Just put in a peach tree and a white seedless grape today. Nine fruit trees, four kinds of berries and three grapes. It's a good start and I have run out of space, time to move! Spring brings on that feeling of needing a bigger garden and room for animals. I hope this is the year to move to an acreage, but I want to leave this place better than I found it. God bless ya'll and keep growing.
This was so wonderful to see you and all the kids working together!❤️ Your kids know so much more than the average children!! Buggy is so big now! She’s one lucky girl with all those big brothers!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Such a heartwarming episode. I really was touched and inspired how sweetly the boys put the soil around the trees while planting. Wonderful stewards of the land! Great job Hollar family!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Today's video was so heartwarming 💕 It's like everyday is Arbor Day 🌳 and Earth 🌎 Day on the Hollar Homestead. I admire and respect all the teaching, family unit values you exhibit and what you give not just to your family and the Homestead community, but what you've given to this UA-cam platform community. Thank you so much for all you do and all the knowledge you share.
50 years ago it was me helping my Dad with the orchard. 2000 trees on 2 acres. That, my friend, is a lot of holes. Of course that took a number of years. The one thing I didn't see you do is water in the trees. Very important. Not only do you give the plant a drink, the water peculating from the hole causes the soil to better get in around the roots. You can start them out right by dissolving some plant food in the water. Every little bit counts. If you are really serious about the orchard, learn to graft. Dad had a couple of apples next to the house that had dozens of varieties of apple in them. When ever he came across a new type he would, with permission, cut of a couple of young branches and add them to one of his trees. It was always a conversation starter when his tree had red and yellow fruit at the same time.
I can't wait to plant my trees, such a crazy weather, is going to be 80 Thursday and then probably going to get a couple of freezes and there goes the fruits.... it's in God's hands really so I will try not to worry about it 🙏 Great job you guys, I wish I had more kids....💞🤗💞
What a beautiful family you have. Watching you all work together is a precious picture. Many more videos to come with all of you I hope. Good watch, good family, good homestead. God bless
How blessed to have so much help. Do you boys realize how much you are contributing? This is going to be beautiful when they mature and bloom, and feed you all.
Did you know.. .. Kiwis have separate male and female plants so it's essential that you plant male vines (that don't produce fruit) along with female vines (that do produce fruit). It's ok to plant one male for every 6-10 female vines. A few varieties like 'Issai' are self-fertile and do not require a separate pollinator.
I can always tell when you are doing something you truly love by the tone in your voice throughout the video. Sounds kinda similar to how you sound when you are talking to your baby girl. Great video.
So cute big brother explaining to little sister about the tree and the fruit is what you eat not the tree lol love it. All y'all's boys are so helpful so good to see. Blessing's to y'all
Great day of tree planting! Can’t wait to see them when they are more grown! Nice you had all the kids helping! There’s definitely something satisfying about planting trees!
You are going to have a fabulous plentiful harvest as those trees mature and produce. I pray they do well and you have good luck with them. I can just imagine how Meg can use them in her fabulous recipes and cooking talents. Awesome! God bless!'
Holler family is a wonderful family. I so enjoy watching you. The trees are planted on your property are going to be wonderful and healthy and delicious bless your hearts.😊❤️👵🏻
Your farm will be amazing when all your trees mature and start producing! Meg will be very busy preserving! You have done so much since you’ve been there.
What a rewarding day of work. Planting all eatable trees. Looking forward to seeing them bear fruit down the road. Kudos to the boys, they are such great helpers! ❤️❤️❤️
Weather here is fantastic, flowers and buds are blooming early, Ben you never disappoint getting us fired up, for a new season. Thanks for the motivation. My struggle is making compost. As I come across rock in yard with lawnmower, I have husband dig out I have some pretty big ones they look cool around my gardens
I have to be honest this video made me cry. Ohhhh how I miss real family time. It was a very long time ago and will never come back. Enjoy every millysecond of it. Watching you I feel like I am a little part of your family. Thank you.😍
Absolutely delightful video guys! We love watching you all transform your property. Your boys are growing up so fast, and we think Buggy is just adorable! Thanks for producing these wonderful videos!
So happy to hear you say Filbert. They were always filberts when I grew up and then we had to switch to the name the rest of the world knew of that lovely nut. Roasted filberts for Christmas was always my favorite thing.
I'd forgotten Filberts in mixed nuts when I was a child. Only knew them as hazelnuts as an adult, until I visited the nursery website that Ben used. I clicked on Filbert nuts and found out they are one and the same. That's also when my childhood memory got jogged of roasted Filberts.
Planted hardy kiwis (1 each need both male and female) takes 4 to 5 years to produce fruit. We planted ours over 25 years ago on 20 by 20 by 8 high / 4 ft wide raised arbor poles are 4x4 The vines thicken and will need support and we average over 2000 hardy kiwis a year.
When I was 7-20 years I helped my family plant 1000’s of fruit trees (750 one year alone) and after I went to university my Dad continued to plant trees each year. Eventually none of us children wanted to continue running an orchard and my Dad first rented it out and eventually sold it. I’m now 62. The buyer cut down all the trees and planted grapes…….to make wine……🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️. My personal regret. Nice to see you planting trees.
🌳Ben, I think you had one fantastic day working with all your boys planting those trees. What a wonderful sight to watch! Great job all of you young men. It will be very interesting to follow your trees as they grow in the area you have set aside for them. Will really enjoy your two trees in the actual garden to see how they do. Missed you, Meg! Hope you were taking to time to rest a bit but have a feeling you were working as hard as ever. Take care all! See you soon! ❇❇❇
Your trees are going to bring so much joy to your homestead. At the moment it is snowing by me and the weather for tonight is forecast to be -20C. No planting here until May/June as the ground stays frozen for so long. I am wishing my Dad had of put Texas down on our immigration form and not Saskatchewan as he had a choice. Looks beautiful where you all are. HUGS
Good morning Ben just got the notice. You lot are filling alot of people's lives with their memories. Lots of love to you all. Glenda from Kuranda Far North Queensland Australia 🌹🍋✔💚
I just watched a older video of you two. It was about 30 things about you. It was cool seeing you before the you made homesteading dream come true. You should be proud of yourselves. Have a great day. God bless.
Thanks for talking about the heeling in of the bare root trees. Nice that the kiwi trees are in the garden area growing up the trellis. Cool, apricot and filbert trees up in the food forest. More trees for the orchard by the farmhouse. That was fun to watch. You're going to have a great food forest. Almond trees too! I'm so glad the boys could help you plant all these trees! Thanks for this Vlog Hollar family!
Its gotta feel good having all those trees you planted 30 years ago!!! Nuts, oil, nut butter just thinking of all the things you now have for Meg to come up with🥰. Your family rocks

This just made my heart explode! Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I’m so thankful God could use us this way for you! ❤️
How rewarding it must be "planting the future". I love trees, and trees that feed us is "icing on the cake". Thank you.
Watching Buggy's face while her big brother drives the lawnmower is precious. I love that your son educates Buggy so she learns instead of dismissing what she said and just moving on. 💞
It's wonderful that the tree planting involves ALL the kids. They will have the delight of watching the trees grow and change over the years.
Love how Jack tenderly is carrying his sweet sister…warms the heart ❤️.
Great job, good Job boys.

There's something very therapeutic about watching trees being planted, especially when you know they're going to produce tasty food too!
