Apparently, if a man owed ? money he was put into debtors prison, and my gr grandfather missed it by 'this much' lol Oh well He eventually came to Canada to homestead on free land and made a great success of the little he had. This was a year ago and just yesterday Stephanie and Phillip had their wedding announcement party at Stephanie's mom's beach bungalow in South Africa... in this vlog she was so kind and gracious and lovingly toasted & welcomed Phillip into the family as her new 'son'... it was very sweet and emotional. ❣💗💞💖

I recently got my 'carte de sejour' and am now preparing citizenship finally. The British Consulate told me that it didn't make any difference if I took on French nationality I would still be 'British' !

There are sufficient websites from the French government in several languages that explain it all. I married a foreigner and when my children were born, to avoid such difficulties, with the French administration, I immediately had them registered at the French Embassy/Consulate. They have dual citizenship, so do my grandchildren. I am an history freak, never very fond of Bonaparte, but now saying that Bonapartes are not welcome in France is an absurd cliché.

Hope you managed to get the plumbing fixed. You need to get Henri on your side. Go to the room you feel him most or associate with him, light a candle and gently ask for his help to look after the chateau. Tell him he is important and is a part of your family now. Try giving him a job to do, like making sure the roof does not leak, or the chapel is protected. Recognise his love for the chateau and that everyone is working to keep the chateau a home and haven that many people love. Hope it works. In the US there are wonderful electric heaters that look like wood burning stoves..I own an cream colored one...it is beautiful....they are made by Duraflame they are top heating using infrared (tubes) instead of coils...no heat on the surface or sides...They cost between $270.00 and $290.00 each...and you would love them..You need them everywhere. They are called "Duraflame 3D infrared cream electric fireplace stove with remote control" I keep warm all winter with mine and it looks very attractive with its 3D flame effect...I'm telling you about it because I want you warm and cozy without problems this winter and you can plug them in wherever you have an outlet.
Your idea is great. They have some electrical heaters at Lalande also. One by Natti's desk and one by Stephanie's as they sit quietly there for hours. Everyone else loves the kitchen and laundry as they are warm rooms.

I might even send along a suitable dinnerware set if I come across one that is available at a European Union member state shop rather than from the USA, mainly to avoid hefty shipping costs on my end and the payment of excessive French custom duties by Lalande. By the way, how were the apricot nectar bellinis? Are peach bellinis still preferred?

Whoopsy! I cut myself off. Anyhoo, the structures he built for the various pieces of the panelling for easy access on the work site demonstrate his commitment to the project at hand. Nothing is off the cuff for him. Amaury is beyond a treasure. I anticipate great vlogs documenting the panelling project. I get the feeling that he has been itching to get started but that he has the professionalism to have the patience for the wood to acclimate to the salon’s environment.
Amaury also did the work in the Marquis's Salon on the new half paneling and learned how to do a hidden door. He set up the frames in the Grand Salon and is ready to work with the antique paneling now. Yeah!!

But the wonderful thing about Amaury as this carpentier extraordinaire is, that due to his passion for ‘the wood”, in other words, is for the craft and his curiosity involved which drives his desire to learn new techniques which will make him improve as a craftsman. Whoopsy! I cut myself off. Anyhoo, the structures he built for the various pieces of the panelling for easy access on the work site demonstrate his commitment to the project at hand. Nothing is off the cuff for him. Amaury is beyond a treasure. I anticipate great vlogs documenting the panelling project. I get the feeling that he has been itching to get started but that he has the professionalism to have the patience for the wood to acclimate to the salon’s environment.
Amaury also did the work in the Marquis's Salon on the new half paneling and learned how to do a hidden door. He set up the frames in the Grand Salon and is ready to work with the antique paneling now. Yeah!!

But the wonderful thing about Amaury as this carpentier extraordinaire is, that due to his passion for ‘the wood”, in other words, is for the craft and his curiosity involved which drives his desire to learn new techniques which will make him improve as a craftsman. Oh dear. I fear that last sentence may not be grammatically correct but … you get my drift … I hope.

That was my first thought when she said it. He doesn't like the new things coming into the Chateau he wants it kept the way it was when he was there.
Maybe he's trying to tell her it's time to rethink the entire heating system in the château.
@@rayn8740 The renovation of the heating system starts this fall with the wood burners in the fireplaces. In the Spring the Geothermal system and radiators will be renovated. Yeah.
Anything with a base of fried onions can have grated courgette/zucchini added. People who don't like them don't even notice they are in there! I did not even notice there was an issue with the wallpaper!
