The Power Clean
Вставка

- The power clean is the perfect training exercise for the violent hip-leg extension of the second pull. It has great application to explosive sport movement, but those sporting movements are not going to develop maximal hip-leg explosiveness. Only weightlifting can develop this explosiveness due to the unique posture and dynamics of the second pull.

It looks simple, but it's really hard to do properly

Yea the elbows bit I’m working on right now.Perfected now.
It’s ducking difficult. I’ve been trying it for weeks now and I keep pulling from my arms :’(
@@MNHS16 I had trouble with the ducking/slight squat part for a while, I just kept practicing over and over.
I wish my cleans looked like this. I'm learning. Discipline and patience.
I wish my cleans looked like this. Just have to put in the work and be patient.
Lower the weight to where your form is perfect, and work your way up.
Any change a year later??
Indeed
@@hrsmp You could always put helium baloons on it.
dont you wish your daddy could clean like me
Thanks for the easiest to follow description of something ever 😊
Oh man, that doesn't look so easy! I'm about to start a fundamentals class before the Crossfit sessions and I can see that I'll have to concentrate properly to learn this
bro do NOT do crossfit 💀
yep , no more day dreaming of porn..
@@daevidpp445my brother in cristh you play brawl stars if thers something more gay than crossfit its that
Thanks, I'm studying my first S&C course to help with coaching my preferred sport. These videos are short and informative and stay away from all the usual accompanying arguments about what is right, wrong, better, worse etc. I just want to learn the technique first. The debate can come later when I know what I'm doing. These videos demonstrate technique clearly.
All the best!
I’m literally doing exactly what you’re doing rn😂

This video is exceptional has helped alot with my form
this youtube comment is exceptional, but didnt really help me understand teh meaning of life
short sweet and to the point, you get a point.
Awesome, I know it says crossfit but still u could consider adding the down phase.
This is too good to only have 5 likes
The down phase is in a normal clean. Power cleans don't go down into a full squat.
He made that look soooo easy
I love these
Thank ya
Where’s Hobart?!
19.5 movement?
I'm still struggling with power cleans but I will get it
@@saulgoodman2071 would you like a cookie?
i love this channel thanks for the great demonstrations!
Thanks for watching!
Hi guys, what program can I use to create such a video? In particular the descriptive lines.
We have to max out on cleans tomorrow at school so I’m kinda nervous
How’d you do?
Question, is dropping the bar after this movement the correct thing to do or do you bring the bar back to the first position under control?
Either one. You would drop the bar because it's easier to do that than to lower it, and you would lower the bar because you care about the floor and/or don't have bumper plates.
Note that lowering the bar isn't very fatigueing on anything but your grip.
dropping the bar can lead to blood pressure drop due to vasodialiaton...aka, can make you pass out. Especially when doing heavy deadlifts.
@@metalyogawithsteph says who, Planet Fitness?
you should always try to control the weight for any lift, it's safer
lowering the bar is more polite but not feasible with the heaviest power cleans. Its best to join a gym with a lifting platform and staff that understand its okay to drop the bar from your shoulders.
you do them on leg day or back day?
Is the bar meant to feel like its choking ur neck it just dont feel right. Same with front squats its hard to breathe with the bar so close to my neck
I wish my Power Clean looked this clean
Does it at least have the same power?
Me gusta 👍🏼
I think I did this...not sure how smooth it was, but I got there.
Someone like me who doesn't have the arm flexibility to do the front squat will have a great challenge.
It seems to me as if you could combine this exercise with an Overhead Press quite easily.
That’s a similar idea to a clean and jerk
you can combine it, with a big mac and fries
How do you safely put it down to reset?
pay a couple of kids (on each side) to catch it
whenever I do power cleans, my shoulders hurt a lot afterwards (back part and inside/top), what am I doing wrong?
everything
Where’s the floral-print couch?!
How many sets/reps can I do using 60 kgs ???
And the procedure for letting the bar down is...?
drop it
What's it called when you do this and then lift overhead?
If I'm correct power clean thrusters. But, I could very well be wrong! I just started crossfit about a month ago and am having a hard time with the weightlifting portion. But, with practice and perseverance I'll get there!
Clean and jerk (it's what they do at the olympics)
its called, fighting obesity
If you mean that you just push it up it's called clean and press. An old olympic lift.
I feel like I remember being able to put a lot of weight on during this exercise, finishing with more than my body weight on top of my shoulders, with my arms held out in front of me. Yeah good 200 - 300 pounds, with practice. Great stuff and it was really fun, especially with the weights covered in rubber and the floor, too, with this kind of vulcanized rubber- you could just let the bar fall to the ground between each rep 😄
You mean like a douchebag? I guess if you didn't pay for the equipment yourself, as a kid, you probably don't care about fucking them up in the long run.
@@HC2671 Yeah it was really nice, the weightlifting room at my highschool had this floor, all of a type of foam material that was resilient, dark like a car tire and oh, really it was great... The weights too had this material all over then too- which was great because you get to the end of each rep and then you could get to the end of each rep and just let the weight fall
My arms just don’t do that
I like this exercise especially for my running!
I am so happy with my self. I do it correctly.
So hard to do
You can do it! Coaches at CrossFit affiliates can help you understand the movement and put it to work for you! www.crossfit.com/map/
he looks so afraid during the shrug part
So afraid of doing that exercise and fucking myself up.
What does the power clean do for you?
Legs
It does a lot for you. It works on nearly every muscle group, which is why most athletes will call it the most important lift.
Ruins you
Explosive strength, which is a pivot for raw strength, and the other way around.

This exercise is so dumb. Who would do that and why.
Someone like me who doesn't have the arm flexibility to do the front squat will have a great challenge.
