    That speed under the bar is the limiting factor for 98% of us. She's world class --- it's so hard to coordinate that movement under weight without having that level of explosiveness.

    • @selectbrands
      @selectbrands Рік тому +12

      @@blahblahgdp Explosiveness is ultimately genetic. You can become more explosive (power + speed relative to body weight) but only within a predetermined range. World-class athletes typically have world-class genetics and optimal body types for the sport they contend in. Power cleaning like an Olympian doesn't come over time for most of us no matter how hard and long you train, however, you can see the potential in teenagers to, who have hardly even touched Olympic weights. It's like saying you're going to dunk like an NBA player if you put enough time into it. The people that will succeed at that will not look or move like the people that can't. Pretty much how genetics work.

    • @redalertsteve_
      @redalertsteve_ Рік тому +3

      @@selectbrands well the reason nba players can dunk so much is because they train with weights around those legs/ ankles

    • @selectbrands
      @selectbrands Рік тому +16

      @@redalertsteve_ That, and the fact that the average NBA player is 6'7 with long arms & legs, relatively shorter trunk to legs ratio, size 12+ feet, low body weight to height ratio, etc. etc. Meanwhile, there are probably next to zero world-class powerlifters that can dunk a basketball --- yet they might be squatting 700+ lbs.

    the receiving position is NOT the "power" position. the power position is where the bar meets the hip.
    however the phrase is intended as "receiving position of the power clean" as opposed to the receiving position for the full clean, which would be at the bottom (or near the bottom) of a full squat.

    This is what most clean newbies don't get. You are launching yourself while holding the bar, then getting under it at its top momentum. I see a lot of people using their arms to do kind of an upright row, as opposed to exploding with their entire body. I aspire to have for like hers.

Try watching an injury compilation & dont laugh....instead, remember that those injuries they suffered are life long....then go back to taking whichever chances youd like to take. @@simba0940 2 cents you can cash in: most people who wash their hands in public restrooms will still touch the bathroom handle to exit that all people who dont wash their hands also touch. Doing what most people do just cuz so many do it doesnt make something right, good, nor healthy. Most people have yet to ask what the chances are that we live on a planet where our small moon perfectly eclipses the sun which is a million times bigger than earth yet perfectly distanced for said phenomenon to take place. Is such a thing a coincidence & what are the chances it randomly be spaced the perfect millions of miles for said illusion?
      Im a thinker my friend....think twice & you too can exit the wet paper bag youre mentally trapped inside of. Live snap free in the gym or find out the toll for doing unwise things that CAN be done. Most women waste their best years on people & things that dont matter only to regret it when they finally get serious about finding a male partner who tends to prefer younger women who still have their best years to offer....yet they dont warn the younger generations & thus the cycle repeats. Dare to be like the FEW people on earth who actually think twice & walk in love which often comes with loving warning & precautions.
      With wisdom, seek understanding. Notice how i dont simply tell someone theyre wrong, i actually invest time correcting them if they choose to receive the correction....most dont.....dont be like most people.
