My wife used my blue non stick skillet and it became a sticking skillet for eggs. If you turned the skillet just right you could see a very very thin haze in a few spots. I contacted the company that makes the skillet and their response was, put water in the skillet, boil it for 5 minutes, dump the water and clean it quickly with miracle eraser. I used the original eraser and cut a small piece of it off, wet it squeezed it , dumped the hot water and slightly rubbed the pan and rinsed it three times(for good measure). My omelets glide in the skillet just like when new. Thought I would share. Kevin
Thanks, Kevin! That's an awesome tip!
Just a few hours ago i left my two days old non stick pan on the induction empty after cooking sausages, forgot to trun it off. Got it cleaned mostly but the non stick effect was gone. This tip saved my new pan, kudos!
Heyyy! That's awesome. Glad it helped ya!
by miracle eraser, you mean Mr. Clean?
@CosmosisArmada yep. Those are the ones.
The lemons, water and wooden spoon worked! Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you Joe! Worked like a charm. My pan is as good as new.
Sweet!
Came here for a burnt on pan stayed and subbed for the rest! Excellent channel and really awesome content!
Thanks, Don. Glad you got some value!
Thats flippin awesome. Im gonna have to try this. Thank you for sharing!
Hope it works for you! If they get super burned, sometimes there's no coming back.
Thanks for showing this informative video I'll definitely try it. I used detergent powder, and sea salt but was not able to remove the bur nt stains.
Hopefully it wotrks for ya. The worse the burns are, the harder they are to get out.
Ohhh I hope this works for me!! Update coming soon!........
The lemons did not budge the burned oil in the pan, but the “boiling water and miracle eraser” hack did the trick. It took some scrubbing but it now looks brand new.
Yeah... those burns can be stubborn!
Good video. I question why our "non stick pans" are sticking. Might as well go with cast iron or a good steel pan. Our green pans seem to go bad after a year or so anyway then get very hard to clean.
Heya, Kelly. Most Non-sticks start losing their non-stick surfaces at around a year or so. So over time they get more and more sticky. The Ninja Neversticks are "guaranteed" against that for 7 years, but we haven't had ours long enough to do anything with that claim.... been close to a year on them though, and still working well.
Partially worked.
Yeah.. That can be rough if you have a pretty good burn on there... If you let some white vinegar just soak in the pan for a day or so, it can help loosen that up a little better.
Thanks for this! Do you have an alternative method for a pancake pan that is completely flat?!
Hmmm..... can you maybe put it inside of a big roasting pan and soak it in there?
It worked
Nice!
Nice sink...I have a stainless steel sink and some scratches on it that I can't remove ...any suggestions?.....thanks for the video as always.
Heya, Diana. Depends on how bad the scratches are. Usually you can get em off with barkeepers friend
@@JoesPhenomenal that's what I use..is it something I use everyday? I use it occasionally.
@@dianapardo6872 I end up using it on my pans pretty much every time I use them, since I hang them, and they look pretty that way. Haha
@@JoesPhenomenal thanks...will do.
I put a scouring pad on a drill and every couple months go over my SS sink, looks awesome when done
Try orange peel. Funnily , orange peel is a very potent fat cleaning agent. So eat the orange and just cook up the peel.
Yeha.. Those orange peels work really nice, too. Good tip!
I have a non stick pan with burnt oil on it, and the lemon didnt work.. i really dont wanna scruv it away, do you how to clean it?
Try mixing a little bit of baking soda into a couple of cups of white vinegar. Pour that into the pan and let it soak for a day or two. That might loosen it up for you.
Does lime work for this as well?
It will... I feel like the lemon works a little beter though.
Would this work with just lemon juice out of a bottle?
Yeah... That works fine too.... Easier to deal with as well.
Can I use lime instead of lemon?
Sure... I think the lemon juice would be slightly better since it's a little more acidic, but they are really close, so it probably doesn't matter.
I use bar keepers friend. Although on nonstick Iv never managed to have stuff stick like that lol
We had our daughter in law come over for the weekend.... She forgot it was heating on the range. Haha
@@JoesPhenomenal I’m guessing you hid my other comment
I didn't. UA-cam might have though. They do that at a pretty alarming rate for no apparent reason. What did ya say?
@@JoesPhenomenal I just use razor blades. Obviously it will take the paint off.. so I use some old house paint I have laying around to paint it back on.. works every time.. save the lemons for those domestic violence cases.. bitch needs to see how sour she be acting.
Probably in the held for review tab I get alot of comments that are held for no reason lol
I know I watched this already and Iv seen my other comment but I wanna tell a story… so one time I made some pasta in my new stainless pot (new to stainless) and then a rice sauce dish.. I was new to induction and was using a silicon spatula. And cooked it slowly because the pot was super full.. well.. becuase I was using (you guessed it) way to high of a temp (induction is more efficent than regular stovetops lol) it was burning the noodle and sauce to the bottom of the pan.. so after a while of cooking I emptied it all out and there is was… a smooth char black spot on the bottom… I was devastated.. I tried EVERYTHING… I tried boiling water.. boiling vinegar water.. boiling vinegar with a small amount. Of water.. I scrubbed with everything that wouldn’t destroy the pan.. IT.. WAS… ON.. THERE…. So.. I used a last measure.. I dried the pan.. put it on the cooktop. Put the lid on.. and turned it nuclear.. after a time I took it off and let it cool down.. after all the popping and cracking noises and it came down to room temps… it had peeled all the carbon up… It worked… unfortunately it did happen again later on when I was making more sauce based dishes and I was in a hurry and once again using the silicon spatula lol that time it never came up and I ended up trashing it.. I felt bad., so after 2 times of Doing that and 1 pan later. I learned to watch my temp and scrape the bottom better. Since I typed up this il throw in a bonus story… so one time I got this nice 3qt pot with a strainer basket thing and I always spray bleach cleaner when I get canned food or new pots pans dishes silverware blah blah.. well I sprayed it really well and hen the idea to go to Walmart and get groceries (I had walked away to use the bathroom) so…2 hours later..I came home and found a thoroughly rusted pot.. don’t tell anybody but I took it back as defective.. there’s my stories.. been wanting to share then but didn’t get the chance
Lol... That should be on an episode of Home Improvement... Haha... Awesome story, man. Loved reading that. Walmart can afford to the return, too!
@@JoesPhenomenal hey on that note.. did u hear about all clad??? If u didn’t go look at my community tab..
I did! That was surprising... I've been trying to figure out what would cause the rough edges like that.... Substandard stainless? I hope not. I've always been a fan of All Clad..... Just wished they'd find a way to offer better pricing.
@@JoesPhenomenal idk what causes it.. I’m betting it something with the high pressure and over time it erodes it.. just a half ass guess though
Just goes to show ya... Wildly expensive doesn't translate into quality all the time... Sad state of affairs.
Can i use vinegar instead? Coz i think its the citrus acid thats working there
Should be able to. White vinegar is great at for that stuff.... Just let it soak a while... Maybe overnight if it's pretty bad.
can you use limes?
Yes. Lemons are still better I think, but the limes get the job done too.
😎
how about the back of pan can you remove too?
The BKF works really good on the bottoms, but it might take some scrubbing if you have discoloration that his been getting burned in there for a while. One of those things that works a lot better if you're keeping up on it.
I have used oven cleaner on the backs of my pans
What about vinegar?
White vinegar can do wonders also.
You should have kept the whole scrubbing process in the video, without any cuts. If it really takes “no time at all” to scrub out, there is no reason to have any cut in the video for that part. If it took so long you felt the need to edit the video for time, then does it really qualify as "no time at all?” Also, Scoth-Brite might say their scrubby is non-stick safes, but every manufacturer of teflon says to use only the sponge part. It would be interesting to se if anyone has done an actual test, simulating daily (light) scrubbings with a supposedly non-stick safe scrub pad vs, washing a pan with only the sponge, and see how the two pans perform after 1000 washes, or about three years of near daily use.
I hear ya... The aren't in there to try to hide any of the work. Unfortunately, it's a UA-cam retention thing. I used to always put the entire tests into the videos and they were more informative, but a lot longer. People just ended up skipping the boring parts, and UA-cam just stops showing the thumbnails since it thinks people hate it. I thought about doing special versions of those as private videos for channel members, so they can see all the good, bad, and ugly in there and it woudn't negatively effect the traffic on the channel... still trying to figure out the best way to do that. Nomally I'd agree with ya about the scrubbing, It's not great for teflon nonsticks regardless of how gentle they are. This particular pan was one of those cases where there wasn't going to be any other way to get it clean and it would end up having to just get tossed. It really was a guest that came and did that to it.. haha... Anyway, that took about 4 minutes of scrubbing with that Blue Scott Brite after I let it sit in white vinegar overnight. Managed to get it clean after that without hurting the surface too much, but there was definitely some damage done by the burns initially. So it wasn't perfect, but it wasn't terrible either.
Those guests though! 😆
I know right?!
Its work but it tooks half hour
Yeah.... Definitely can. Thr worse it is, the harder it is to get off, and in a lot of cases it just won't. Glad it eventually came off for ya though!
It didn't work for me :(
I had a really stubborn pan before, and it helped to let the white vinegar and baking soda mix sit in it for a few days.
Waste of lemons though
It can be... One of those little plastic lemon shapes lemon juices from the store will work too... It's concentrated so it isn't as effective though.
Did not work at all for me
The one I did in the video was pretty bad too. We had friend over and they left it on the stove and forgot about it. Did you soak it in the white vinegar? If so, try letting the vinegar sit in the pan at least overnight and see if that helps. If it gets bad enough, then not even this stuff helps, but it's always worth a shot.
Did not work even a little bit.
Hmm.. Sounds like yiu might have a pretty gnarly burn on there. It might help if you just let some white vinegar sit in the pan for a couple of days on the counter. There's plenty of instances that the burns might just be too bad though, unfortunately.
Didn't work
If the burns get bad enough, they might have just messed up the nonstick layer on the pan. That can happen, too. Did it help at all?
Lovely ur wife is,I love pregnant women r,they r r so beautiful. So how did you get her ,I joke I joke. But way to go, just started watching ur blog, don’t get mad but I did care for ur videos, but I hooked now. So anyway, graduations.
Thanks!
You're hat is on backward.
It is! Originally, it was to limit shadows from my lighting, and that my mic is up in there so I needed it that way to keep the audio sounding right... But then it triggered people for some reason, so I just kinda kept it that way.. 😉
I don't get 'triggered'.@@JoesPhenomenal
