Thank you for taking the time to put this educational video together.....I just sent a text to a house call tech that I didn't need him to come to my home this week! I made the appointment a month ago (earliest appointment).......and then said, why can't I do this myself? I ordered the muffler with a gasket.......plus a gasket for the OHV......wasn't sure what was spewing oil and it turned out to be the muffler......so I can return the OHV gasket! Key to this....confidence to pull it apart and put it back with a new one! Craftsman LT1000 rides like I bought it yesterday and not 20 years ago!
I saved myself $100 changing my own transmission drive pulley... 😂 I was blessed to borrow the boss man tools and change it at his shop .... I asked "how much you would've charged me he say "bout $150" ......I don't recall who I was watched to teach me how to do but I'm glad 😊 I learned my lesson. "Learn a new skill" YES YES!!
great little video! I've just gotten my first riding lawn mower, used, and it runs great but it is LOUD LOUD LOUD!!! The tires need some attention, too, but that muffler has got to be changed out. Thanks!
Dude Thanks ... I'm in Baltimore MD with a John Deere D125 and my muffler looks compared. I watched twice .... 😂 Crazy thing is I went to school for Automotive Tech.
Great Video. Thanks for making it. I noticed there is what looks to be a fuel line shut-off value just before the fuel filter. Did you install that, and if so, I assume it is to make it easier to change out the fuel filter? Great idea!
Thanks for vudeo! Got all done and found the screw bracket on right side was welded too far to left for the screw hole. Great. Incompetency in the work place?? Lol urrrr. And it came from John deere
How did your new muffler hold up? Start of summer this season I purchased the same muffler from Amazon, the weld ended up breaking where the manifold meets the muffler body.
I know I sound like a Commie, but I have no faith in B&S engines. Trying a 16 hp poulan this time. I think they're Chinese. They use them on a lot of mowers. It has a oil filter. Maybe it will be a good one.

Thanks, the message you sent was perfect. Saying don’t take it somewhere, learn to do it yourself. I’m paraphrasing. And couldn’t agree more. I sub

I have a Scotts 1642 with Kohler engine. I think it has the original muffler (22 years old), Looks like this is my next project.

thank you for your video
So easy. Thanks!
This helps so much
What is that squared thing next to it called with the four bolts
Your tractor is so clean! If you have a chance , please make a video how to clean it! Thanks!
I have a really old ariens rm830e. Is it possible for me to install some sort of exhaust on there? it's very loud and smells terrible.
Put that top cover on or else it will overheat.. great video
Is it just me or did I watch this video to take the muffler off of my tractor and make it loud

They do that. I'd take it to a welder and have him beef up the weld.
Mine just snapped off , I'll be welding it back together tomorrow
Hi there fix it.
i have a yard pro riding mower with that exhaust but it is to damm laud what can i do
Greetings from Holland
Do you have the links to buy the muffler and gaskets? Thanks in advance. G
you can literally see the part numbers in the video....
Do you know the length of the 2 exhaust bolts?
3/4" socket heads
No Links?
How did you lower the heat shield?
Remove 2 3/8 bolts😊
Surprised you didn't change the muffler bearings while you had everything apart. 🤣
Hahahahaha. I greased them so....
They make an adaptor to adapt a normal screw on muffler to those junky ohv motors.
I see what you mean it's so simple and the guy doing this says don't over tighten them bolts to the muffler

I know man. But 6 in one hand 1/2 a dozen in the other.
they're pretty good engines assuming the ACR doesn't break.
