Amazing flying thank you and I'm glad that i bought one but I will have to wait for my skills to improve before my own maiden, really enjoyed watching the film, all the best from Alan in the UK 🤗🤗👍👍👍👏👏❤
Alan, thank you! I am sure you will be happy that you bought this plane. It's an amazing value for the price, just like my ASW28 V2. Greetings from Slovenia 🇸🇮
Very good !!! For thermal flight in flat country, phoenix 2400 as good as the lentus, less good, or the same according to your experience ? Thanks for your beautifull videos.
Thank you 😊 Honestly I can't give you a good answer because the way I fly my e-gliders. If you watch my videos you will see that I like doing aerobatics with almost no thermal gliding. What I can say though is that the P2400 is a better thermal glider considering the price. In other words, the Lentus is not as good of a thermal glider as the price would suggest.
Thank you :) It's hard to tell which one is better. I have only made 4 flights so far with my new Phoenix 2400. They are both great E-Gliders with different flying characteristics. The P2400 seems to have better gliding capabilities than the ASW28.
So gorgeous!!! Simply everything on the video fits together, the way of filming, the epic location ,the snow and yeah ,your style to fly gliders .. One day I should purchase the Phoenix 2400 too ..I think that the flying characteristics are simply to diferent from each other to say that the one ist better than the other.. Andrej,do you feel a big difference on the Thrust between the the 850KV on the ASW on 4S and the 1050KV on 3 S ? Thanks a lot for this epic video!!
Thank you so much!! I agree, they are two different planes, two different experiences (so it's best to have them both 😁). Yes, there's a big difference - much more thrust on my 850KV ASW28 on 4s, but I flew my P2400 on a 3s Li-Ion - on 3s LiPo the thurst would be a little higher ... In the future I will probably end up with a 4s Lipo (I have a lot of them from my FPV quads) with an upgraded ESC and 75-80% max throttle on a stock prop. The 1050KV motor with the stock prop combo is still very efficient. You can fly light acro the whole flight with a 3s 5000mAh Li-ion battery for 40 minutes in neutral conditions. With that battery the wing loading is still very low. I guess the P2400 will be a nice thermal glider too. Have a nice Sunday ☀️
I have the same glider but yours flies way better. Mine definitely won't fly inverted and the roll rate much slower, not nearly as responsive. It's set up correctly so maybe I just got a bad one? Could be servos maybe? Running 3S
Hi, my guess is that your's is not as nimble as mine because of the setup and not because the plane is faulty or has bad servos. Why my plane is relatively nimble: flaps are mixed with the ailerons - this gets you more aileron authority. I fly my plane relatively "tail heavy" - that makes the plane more unstable but at the same time more nimble (it's a trade-off that I am willing to make). I like to set up the travels on my gliders to the max physically/mechanically possible and not as recommended in the manual. The P2400 is a very sluggish plane even with this setup though (compared to my MPX Solius as an example).
Phoenix 2400 would be a good choice. P2400 has better gliding capabilities than the ASW28. The more expensive option would be the Multiplex Solius which is more capale for aerobatic flying as it's more nimble.
I still have this glider but I don't fly a lot as it's not as nimble as I would like. My ailerons and flaps are mixed to get more aileron authority - but still not enough nimble for me ... Aileron travel - to the max mechanically allowed.
I have this issue on my Volantex ASW28 V2 with the stock servos too. This happens because the servos are too weak - when you fly fast the servos have to produce larger force to move the ailerons - whet the speed is too high they just can't move the ailerons anymore. You can fix this by upgrading the servos to stronger ones 👍
Hi, thanks. For this flight I was using a 3s 5000mAh Li-ion battery (Liitokala). I believe the CG was set right on the marks (can't really remember as I've made just a few flights with this glider - I mostly fly helis. I didn't even try to optimise anything on this glider yet). www.aliexpress.com/item/32803905878.html
It's a good glider for the money. It's not very nimble, so if you want a more aerobatic glider & a little better gliding performance I would suggest you buying a Multiplex Solius glider - it's more expensive but better in all aspects.
Hi Andrej, love your videos, I first came to your channel because of your durafly Excalibur videos. I'm trying to decide between the 2000 and 2400 volantex phoenix V2, I want a glider but also want it to be fairly aerobatic. Is the 2400 aerobatic enough for you do you think? Do you reckon the 2000 is a lot more aerobatic, or is there not much of a difference? Thanks very much, and lovely flying site btw, very picturesque
Hi, thank you. I have owned a Phoenix 1600, 2000, 2400 and ASW28 V2. If I remember correctly, the most agile of all of them was the P1600. Other gliders are quite similar in terms of agility. They are all lacking in aileron agility in my opinion. That's if I compare them with my Multiplex Solius which is very aerobatic E-glider with great aileron authority. I would guess that the P2000 is a little more nimble than the P2400 because the smaller wingspan. To get an idea on how aerobatic the Volantex RC gliders can be (they are all quite similar) you can watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/sUdaNoIgY6o/v-deo.html You can increase the aileron authority on all of these gliders by mixing the flaps to get them to work as ailerons. To do so you'll have to connect each of the flap servos to a separate channel on your receiver (as stock they are connected via the Y cable).
@@AndrejSturm Hi Andrej, thanks for getting back to me so quickly! I wanted to take it a bit of time to do a bit of research before I replied. I've seen your video about the aileron-flap mixing which is a really cool idea, I was thinking maybe having a mode where the flaps follow the ailerons completely might make the aileron authority good enough for me on the phoenix V2? I saw a video by speedster den where he did that and the plane seemed quite agile when slope soaring. I was wondering is the engine without bearings on the multiplex solius a deal breaker? And also I've been researching about the FMS asw-17 which looks really nimble, have you had any experience with that plane? Thank you and I hope you had a nice weekend!
Very enjoyable flight footage at an absolutely beautiful location 👏
Many thanks!
Absolutely amazing video....amazing flying....incredibly well all put together! Thanks for sharing
finally someone that can fly!!! kudos :)
Just lovely! I couldn't stop smiling.
So good! Love the location.
There is something about that zero power fly-by sound. Cant wait to get mine in the air!
Excellent display of piloting. Looks like a solid glider.
Thank you. Yes, it's a good value glider.
Loved that. Amazing flying in awesome scenery!
Thanks a lot!
il est super beau le 2400 bravo pour ce vol magnifique ...
Absolutely love watching you fly

A question regarding the battery pack 3s Li-Ion: the battery size is 26650, 21700 or 18650. Thanks for sharing

I don't use an air brake, just the flaps.

How much is the flap data? What is it?
Very impressed. I am flying héron with openhd. Do you recommend asw28 or volantex 2400 regarding stall characteristics ?
Hi. I've not flown a lot with my P2400 yet (just 4 flights). So I am not sure about the stall characteristics yet.
Awesome can it fly with gopro and fpv stuff ? Great video
Yes, absolutely. Thanks 😊
This plane can carry a lot of weight 😂

Ja, zakrilca 1 = -2%, zakrilca 2 = -4%.
