    "I'm afraid I'll disappear" means he's afraid that his most true self will disappear if he cannot express it. Marlena is not a person, it's their muse. It's the personification of creativity and inspiration. He's asking his muse to come back to him, inspire him and give him the strength to be himself. This is a common theme of Måneskin music.

      I mean, I honestly sometimes prefer it when artists don’t come out and say stuff like this though… when it’s left to interpretation, it’s almost more meaningful, because to find meaning in the song, you have to look inside yourself, and not at an interview

    • @SonoMonia
      @SonoMonia 3 роки тому +43

      @@Wondershred well, people kept assuming this was a love song for a woman named Marlena. Would have been another corny love song. So, I'm glad he clarified what the song was about.

      @@SonoMonia Hey, first off, those lyrics wouldn’t have been that of a corny love song. Dom does some fucking beautiful writing. Second, those corny songs still mean a lot to a lot of people, despite being corny. Finally, either way it’s cool. It’s a great song. Respectfully, I disagree with your comment, but clearly we got something in common, because I’m pretty sure we both love the song, and the band🤘

    listening to this song was the last thing we did in my italian class (before the exam ofc), and it just gives me so many emotions i don't know how to describe. even though i could barely understand more than a few words (my prof wasn't the best at connecting everything rip), i could feel the raw emotion and knew that i needed to find it again. i still don't understand most of the words, but considering it almost made me cry in the middle of class through sheer power, i think i'm okay with that
