Your videos are such a breath of fresh air. Honestly, I’m constantly bombarded with consumerism on every post which is why I don’t follow anyone anymore... love watching someone genuinely care about what they own and not being obsessed with whatever’s new THAT week.
Slowly learning to restore my own wardrobe, this video is perfect. Darning holes/ replacing missing buttons/ ironing seams flat gives such an intimate connection to your clothes, I think taking care of personal property is underrated self-care. Plus even if you decide to donate the shoes, someone else will be able to use 'em for way longer now :)
I've really been loving your crafty videos ❤️ if you enjoyed this, you may also enjoy clothing mending! I've been getting very into mending lately, it's so fulfilling to revive a favorite piece. Also I'm selfish and would love to see more mending videos in general.
I thrifted a pair of vinyl doc marten boots years ago. Funny enough today after years of the vinyl peeling off the toe I decided to try and restore them. I ripped off the vinyl and plan to treat the leather under and then maybe spray paint and add spikes. This definitely inspired me to follow through and really give my boots a makeover 🖤
The little patchwork is so so cute and adds a special little something to the vibe of the shoes. Can’t wait to keep all of this in mind for future reference! It’s so nice to see people nourishing the items they already own 💚🌎 💚
Quack, find a cobbler to get those tippy tappy bad bois resoled. I did it with one of my fave pairs of leather shoes and it literally gave them a new life!!
Ahhh I looooove the stitches you make on the Docs!! They look so good. I also love the idea of showing stitches making it an obvious mend because it just gives it a little ✨flavor✨. Makes her a little spicy 🔥.
My vegan Docs are peeling too, it's sooo annoying, especially since they were more expensive than leather ones! I glued down the upper layer where it was peeling but it's really obvious and not a cute worn-down look. Next pair I buy will be a second-hand leather pair for sure, and I might try to paint my vegan one.
I'm restorting... aka rescuing, some brown leather dr martens that have been lathered in ... black paint I think... outsole including!!! They are slowly coming back to life... it's a labor of love!
Currently shopping for a new pair of 'uniform' shoes and I'm now so inspired to get a good pair of leather ones (new or second hand) I can maintain and repair. You make it look like such an act of love/rebellion and I'm very into that.
My jaw literally dropped at "i guess it makes sense leather likes to be condotioned, it is skin" i never like.. thought of that but that makes total sense
I love you so much that I dont even skip through the spon content! Haven't even watched the whole video but love the concept, I've been recently restoring some doc martens I have and also really careful about maintaining newer leather shoes. You the best! Have a lovely day ☺🐞🌼
I really love how you restored those shoes!! Also me as a shoe sales person cant leave here without recommending shoe trees ( at least thats what google tells me schuhspanner are in english) against the creases in leather shoes. You put them back in after every wear and they keep the leather in position! They re doing wonders for my docs Greetings from a longterm german fan
Use a toothbrush to clean out the blush. Try mink oil for the creepers. That’s what they recommended to help break in my docs faster will probably work for those too! Love this video. I’ve been watching shoe/purse repair videos to fall asleep lately. Try getting your shoes professionally resoled I’m sure they will last a lot longer!
This inspired me to clean and condition all my shoes as part of my spring cleaning today :) it was therapeutic and productive, thanks for the inspiration!
This is so lovely 🥺 at the start of 2020 i did some super serious cleaning and conditioning on two pairs of super old wicked dirty docs, no structural repair stuff but even just cleaning them up was amazing. Working with your hands and giving life back to things is wonderful
I just invested in some second hand hiking boots that are a nice, thick leather and I hadn’t even thought about treating my leather shoes but I have a few and they’re such a good investment if you can fix them up 😍
I definitely have a couple pairs of secondhand docs that need some love and it keeps me from reaching for them. I’m inspired to take some care and try to extend their life
Omg this video could not have come at a better time. My docs have gotten some gnarly scratches in them that I need to fix... I also have a pair of horribly worn out suede boots that I wish I knew how to repair but I think they’re a lost cause 😭😭😭
Wow, I had those brown boots in high school. I'd forgotten about it til I saw yours. Mine were not Eastland, but some off brand. This was in the 80s. I also got a pair of Doc boots for Christmas in 1992. I still have them, but I recently discovered that the grommets have corroded (the shoes were in a storage bin). Does this make them cooler? Hmm. I wish you could get your brown shoes resoled.
This makes me so excited for the future journey of taking care of my leather docs! I decided on leather when I bought them because of the longevity. They are my babies. I will do anything for them xD Thanks for sharing your shoe restorations!! I wonder what kinds of crafts you can do with the remaining leather of your brown shoes once they die hmm
i thought about getting a new pair of docs since mine are badly scuffed i’m inspired to give them some extra love,,, i actually think you live in my head
This video was so relaxing to watch. I can’t lie when you started in with that white paint on the docs I was wondering what the hell was going on. It ended up looking pretty great! Awesome vid as always 🖤
I have the exact same pair of docs that yours are. They have the black and white tag, and I'm 99% sure they are 1460 patent leather pascals. I have leather 1460 pascals too and they just feel so different lol. They're quite old, not sure why they did the tag differently than usual on them, but they're real! I remember looking at them on ebay in my early teen years 🤣
This was so fun! also for the vegan docs, I have the black ones and feel like they don't get damaged at all! and before being vegan I had the leather ones but they got destroyed by ice salt. I heard from many people that the coloured vegan ones are not durable because they peel off, like yours!
The glow up on the brown shoes is real. I had fake leather orange combat boots and they were the most uncomfortable things but I still regret donating them 🙃
The Docs turned out so good! They're legit even with the white writing on the heel loop, and are genuine leather (just poor quality). Vegan Dr. Martens are discernible by having white (and yellow) heel loops :D
You need to watch viveter his shoe restorations are simply magical. I have a pair of vegan boots that my husband bought me for birthday and they have cracked accross the toe, I put some nail polish over them but I’m not happy. And I want to repair them so bad.
Your videos are such a breath of fresh air. Honestly, I’m constantly bombarded with consumerism on every post which is why I don’t follow anyone anymore... love watching someone genuinely care about what they own and not being obsessed with whatever’s new THAT week.
I second this!!

as someone who does art conservation and restoring professionally, this was wholesome. I'm glad you gave all of these so much love. and a new life! 👏

Such a relaxing video!! Love the stitches on the doc’s
those little brown shoes are so cute! I've always loved how thrifty you are + seeing you rewear pieces year after year!

YESSSS leather cleaninggggg I can practically smell the leather cleaner ♡♡♡
Holy!!! Those creepers! I can’t believe u thrifted those! Love this!!!
I love the stitching on those Docs!

Congrats on the sponsorship! Well deserved 😎
Watching this while taking in my old stretched out trousers was really satisfying! Thanks for diy-ing with me! 😉

Have totally been inspired to go to my closet and bring back to life some of my old boots.
Currently shopping for a new pair of 'uniform' shoes and I'm now so inspired to get a good pair of leather ones (new or second hand) I can maintain and repair. You make it look like such an act of love/rebellion and I'm very into that.
I love these cozy videos of fixing things up they’re really relaxing

My jaw literally dropped at "i guess it makes sense leather likes to be condotioned, it is skin" i never like.. thought of that but that makes total sense

Greetings from a longterm german fan
I’ve been binge watching your vids for the past few weeks and omg I just love your vibe. Sending love from Minnesota!! 💕💕
These all came out soooo good!! I can't get over how even the doc stitching was! A++++

Aww so happy you got your shoes back. They are so cute and this inspired me to give my leather boots some love. Ty. 🥰
yess! this is so punk I love it. if you do your suede shoes, I wanna see too.
I love this! I think it’s great to learn how to keep your fave items and mend them! Loved this video! ❤️
This slaps, I love repair videos!! May they replace H&M hauls on UA-cam in the future 🙏🏻
Watching this while conditioning my own pair of docs, thanks for the reminder 😊
This inspired me to clean and condition all my shoes as part of my spring cleaning today :) it was therapeutic and productive, thanks for the inspiration!
Yeah! I wanted to restore mine too! Amazing content, as usual!
Yessss im ready for this. I love repairing old items.
imagine if we all cared for our wardrobes like this. they turned out great i think!
This is so lovely 🥺 at the start of 2020 i did some super serious cleaning and conditioning on two pairs of super old wicked dirty docs, no structural repair stuff but even just cleaning them up was amazing. Working with your hands and giving life back to things is wonderful
10/10 blurp restoration.
Omg using acrylic paint for the peeled leather is so smart!!
im gonna come back to this for SURE 😍
I just invested in some second hand hiking boots that are a nice, thick leather and I hadn’t even thought about treating my leather shoes but I have a few and they’re such a good investment if you can fix them up 😍
The earlier you start taking care of them - cleaning and conditioning - the longer they’ll last and the better the performance will be 🙌
The doc martens looks so so good!!!!
I didn’t expect that possum in the crease. Hee Haw! Thanks Qcknd.
Needed this to take a break from work 💕
Edit: it was so peacefull, now I can't go back 🙈
Loved this! Such a cool idea
I definitely have a couple pairs of secondhand docs that need some love and it keeps me from reaching for them. I’m inspired to take some care and try to extend their life
Try an old toothbrush if you still need to remove that blush! It's really helpful in getting into those crevices.
those brown shoes are so amazing! I love how the thread matches the laces :) you did a great job!
the stitching on the docs looks great!!
I was JUST staring at my thrifted leather boots with a hole... I need to get on this
I have a beautiful pair of dms that have a crack that's been preventing me from wearing them, so inspired to fix them up now!
get that sponsorship girl💕
Yesss we love repairing our old favs
YAAAAAYYYYYYYYY qcknd uploaded and i CLICK !!
I loved this so much! i have some leather shoes myself and i feel inspired to go condition them right now
I loooove the noticeable mending. I have wonkys seams all over shirts and pants that I mended.
This was so badass! I now have confidence to attempt a repair on my boots.
Omg this video could not have come at a better time. My docs have gotten some gnarly scratches in them that I need to fix... I also have a pair of horribly worn out suede boots that I wish I knew how to repair but I think they’re a lost cause 😭😭😭
This was awesome! Always love your diy videos, simultaneously relaxing and informative. 🤓
Loved this vid!!! 💗

I love this kind of content, yes I am aware I have commented this before. I am now going to clean my docs.
Don't have time to watch the full video rn but i already know i'll love it! i'll leave a like and comment here and come back later :)
My old workbooks are leather I may try and see if I can get them back to life. I miss wearing them. Even if they are steeltoe
Love this kind on content. Hope you've been well
Holy moly. I need to do this with some second hand leather shoes I have.

qcknd a cobbler fr what a great video
Wholesome content quack🦆
i just love the way you talk about your shoes, it's so lovely and sweet ;-;
The glow up on the brown shoes is real.
I had fake leather orange combat boots and they were the most uncomfortable things but I still regret donating them 🙃
This is a beautiful video
You can probably get the little shoes resoled at some local place. That should certainly extend how long you can wear them
V helpful, love your vids! Your makeup is bomb btw
You should see if you can find a cobbler that can resole those brown shoes. It will make a big difference as well.
you should def look into visible mending
The Docs turned out so good! They're legit even with the white writing on the heel loop, and are genuine leather (just poor quality). Vegan Dr. Martens are discernible by having white (and yellow) heel loops :D
so cool!
“it looks like cholesterol” killed me 😭😭 also i love this shirt on you so much, if there’s like a top 3 thing i associate with qcknd it’s this shirt
reminder to watch them ads 💌
