When I was in Highschool I bought a shit ton of makeup that is now expired and barely used it. I really wish I spent all that money on something I would have used. But it definitely taught me a lesson. I rarely buy material things now because I'm just not into it. I still beat myself up about it even though it was years ago, especially now that I'm a broke college student trying to scrape by. So I definitely get your struggle with going through it all and tossing it out. Live and learn I guess 😅

feel like most youtubers are really reluctant to declutter anything but i admire your ruthlessness, it's similar to mine! one of the main things that i think about when watching beauty youtubers is how short the shelf life of products is and that even beauty youtubers who do their makeup every day couldn't possibly make a dent in their collection 🥴🙃 as a very casual makeup wearer, even my most worn blushes and eyeshadows barely have a dent after years of use! the only products i find myself having to repurchase ever are foundation, concealer, and mascara

the expiration date actually doesn't matter that much. makeup is often good to use years after opening, tons of people use their makeup after it expires and are totally fine. unless a product smells bad or has mold on it, its okay to use
This might be true. But makeup does have a shelf life even if it's never been opened. Most liquids are good for three years and most powders are good for five years.

Giiiirl don't use LimeCrime, there is so much bad stuff surrounding this brand, it's insane!! if you need cutesy make up, turn to Beauty Bakerie or Sugarpill! Both brands are cruelty free, and BB is vegan as far as I know! Thankfully there are tons of new vegan and trustworthy make up brands on the rise so you can gladly de-clutter and find a better, newer product if you need it!
