I find it to be a bit cruel and inhumane to stuff a fiat with 4 fat muthafukas and then ask it to do 0-60. I feel Sarah McLachlan's "in the arms of an angel" should be playing in the background while this act act of violence is being played out. I thought UA-cam had a filter for sick shit like such.

I don't know if it's just me but I think that the Fiat Group from Italy ( FIat, Alfa, Maserati, Ferrari ) makes the best sounding exhaust notes on the planet. So passionate! I also like the sound of Aprillia and Moto Guzzi motorcycles too!
1000lbs of people in a Fiat isn't "real world" testing unless you're in America. Maybe you should check the trunk for its hamburger storage capacity as well.

What is the 0 to 60 time with 1 driver only , so we can compare how much adding 3 passengers would slow down the car
They say 100 lbs adds 0.2 seconds to a 0-60 time. That'd be the 3 missing passengers (750lbs) or 1.5 seconds, so you'd be looking at 9ish 0-60 driving the way he did?
I don't think that's ridiculous since 8 seconds out of this car's automatic is probably a solid time.
Exactly, what the hell is the point. Moter trend tested one at 6.7 seconds, and other estimates are typically about 7.0 s.
I got a 2013 one hard top, I've clocked 6.5 on mine.
The stock Abarth in the 5 speed model will do 0-60 in under 7 seconds no problem.
Actually this is pretty good. I've been wondering how the car performs with 4 people in it. I know if I buy one this is my main concern. Though, my fiends and I don't weigh as much, total. It's still nice to see how the car performs with a full load. I also wanted to see how much room was in it loaded up. Thanks guys!

Me and 3 friends got into a regular a 500 Abarth Coupe, and space-wise it honestly wasn't that bad, until I realized that my head was poking through the sunroof.

I got stuck in one of these at an autoshow. Luckily for me, someone was able to retract the roof so I could get out of the back seat

I hope you guys got a chance to compare the manual to the autobox on a track. Other than MPG, the autobox is looking like it will beat the manual with it's more aggressive gear ratios.

Yeah 4 large guys in an Abarth 500 is unfair! Take out about 600 lbs you all :) Still a great car, love it! 10.4 secs with you all in there is awesome. Too bad yu had the auto, the 6 speed manual is a lot more fun. When you hit the powerband and the turbo's kickin' in....wow.
I don't try to go zero to 60 in any car as fast as I can. What I want from the Fast Lane boys is a Fiat 500 convertible with 17 inch snow tires going down two track or up dunes vs. a Jeep Wrangler. I've noticed my 15 inch snow tires on a Lounge make the car feel like it's floating on top of snow for a perfect control ride. Take a 17 inch down wilderness roads Fast Lane. We expect it from you guys. You are our only hope. Remember the VW, dune buggy?

Realllly, now what's the maximum certified weight this model care carry. It's nice to know if it has enough power to hit 0 - 60 realllly loaded and all but how safe did it feel driving it loaded in the slow lane. I will have to check ours I purchased my wife one a few weeks ago and there not inexpensive but they are a fun loving small car for two not so large humans. Our Yellow Labrador take up the whole rear seat most of the time and he loves the full sun woof. We also have the auto trans and at first we were sorry for not getting the manual but being stuck in stop & go traffic for 30 - 40 minutes during construction convinced us we made the right choice. The quality in our opinion is first rate. That thing had to have about 3" of ground clearance fully over loaded - LOL. Cheers
This shows you how American people have revolutionized human race in terms of SIZE . We, Italian used to go on holiday , or anywhere (my father drive from Florence to London in the 60's) and carry a family of 4 plus luggage in the old 500 , and dear was it much smaller car than this one . You guys hardly fit in this one .

I'm not sure how the miles convert to km but the Cabrio is speed limited when the top is open. I noticed that mine would stick between 145 and 150 km/h with the top open, but no such restriction with the top closed.

Not a big fan of the fully loaded 0-60 stuff, I get it; however, it's just not what I want to see in a 0-60 review or a performance review. Now if they wanna do one just the driver then fully loaded that would be okay, but if they keep just doing these fully loaded I'm done watching, unless it's some car I'm really interested in. I used to watch even for cars I don't care for..

Fiesta ST has more power than the 500c so the Abarth still did a better job I think despite the 5 people and more power on the ST.

They just added it as an option for the 2015 model year.

This July they will be at the dealerships (well, that's what FIAT says), but remember this automatic is just for North America. The rest of the world has had the MTA (automated 5-speed manual) for a while now. I was reading an article on an Australian car news site, who get the Euro 500's which had a story about the NA autobox and each person in the comment section was bitching about how poor the MTA is compared to the torque based auto box North America is getting.
Here in America we tend to get confused when there's more than two pedals on the floor haha

I want to see what they think of the 500L
I live in country where 500l is made . It is very big car , very spacious , it can easily can take 5 fat Americans . Problem is that it has same powertrain as 500 Abarth , it it would be almost 20s 0-60 . Where I live we can only dream about automatic and 160 hp engine , here there are 1.4 non turbo with about 86hp and 1.3 diesel which has about 89 hp .
why would you try to do a 0-60 test with 4 people in the car?

Alex Mitchell They weren't trying to do a full on performance test, they were showing that the car would still move with 4 hefty people in it.
+Isaac Brinson i was going to say with four heavier guys in it turns that 2,4000 lb car into a 160hp Mustang (ends up weighting the same)
That's slow with 4 people in it ( 10,5 Seconds ).
I recently got 11.5 Seconds from the 1.2 engine with 69hp + Race gas.

They also have 1,000+ extra pounds in the car, lol.... The Abarth will do 0-60 in under 7 seconds under normal circumstances. But look up the weight of this car, adding 1,000 pounds is like putting a weedwacker motor on a motorcycle and expecting to do a wheelie. Not to mention it's the convertible automatic.
