Such a FUN build.............. 👍👍👍
Nova looks good on there!!
neat kit for sure...you could build a haul trailer out of the truck bed...that would be a kool unique piece....nice work there , Rock onnn
RJ
Are you doing good RJ!!!! Haven't heard from you in a while.
Oldies are the best. That is very simplistic by looking at the directions. Like the wires in the motor. You did a great job 🤟🤟
Thank you for the kind words...... Pretty basic, but rewarding when finished up!
This looks awesome. Love the weathering and worn affects. Outstanding!
Thanks a bunch!
Nice looking truck. Thanks for showing and best wishes from jolly old England, Pete 😎
Thank you for the kind words Pete and Best Wishes to you too!
I like the extra diamond plate you put on the ramp. The painted front bumper looks better too nice work!
Cool, thanks Doug!

Oh yea, that would be a good one!
Thats a lovely build, something different too.
Glad you liked it!
I'm glad they re-released it. I have an original given to me by my cousin and it was missing parts. Still have it. Nice build!
Yes, so glad they rereleased it. Is your original still in the original box?
@@THROTTLEPOWER No...that was long gone. Painted mine with a metallic gold. I'll have to look at it again. I know a set of wheels was missing from it.
@@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage Aaaaaa ok 😉
Nice! I like what you did with this one, a real workhorse.
I'm glad you like it!!!!!!!
I've just enjoyed watching it again too 😊👍best wishes from jolly old, 👍😎Pete 🤓

Beutiful build! Really like your patina!
Thank you so much!
Great job Tim, :) 😎 👍
Thanks Tom! 👍
Great looking build Tim, excellent job on the weathering. That riv wagon custom looks like an interesting project.
Thank you for the kind words.............. Good eye, noticing the Riv !!!!
You did a great job Tim. I love the look of a working man's truck. I'll be getting one of those to build as a pick-up. Don't see many 72 kits out there. Wish they had one with the 67 hood. 👍
Thank you!! Yes, the truck by itself is really nice, especially the body with all the trim.
Turned out great nice job
Glad you liked it Butch!!
Ty for the tips great build
So glad it was helpful.... 👍🙂
Nice build, looks good! Interesting thing though, I belive that in the original kit the grille and bumper were two seperate pieces. I have the original kit but built up as a pickup, I will have to dig it out and check. Thanks for posting. 👍🏻
Hmmmmmmm, very interesting John. If you find out please let me know. Hope you have a great New Years!!!!!!
Awesome work buddy 😍👍
Thank you....................... 😉👌
A very nice build Tim. I going to pick up a couple of those.
Right on James, you will like them!
Awesome truck, I built the original version last year and loved it. If I had known they were going to repop it I would kept the original version unbuilt. Love the look you went with. Rick ✌️
Right on Rick!!
Awesome job! I've built 3 of these '72's as pickups but haven't built the wedge yet. Have two in the stash so maybe someday.....
Thank you.......... It's a quick fun build that I think you will really enjoy!
Superb 👍👍👍
Thank you, so glad you liked it!! 😉
Great video Tim, that 72 ramp kit I have been seeing a lot of guys with these kits I think I need to find a few of those for my stash! nice weathering too
Oh yea, you can never have enough car haulers!
Cool truck! I ought to get one to put some of my cars on.
Yes, you will enjoy it!!!!
very kool kit
I agree RJ!!!
Looks like you had fun with that build. Looked like someone like me could even knock that one out.
Oh yea, it's pretty basic, but rewarding when done!
Wow, this is very nice bud! Great job :)
Thanks a lot Karl!
And I've watched it yet again as I've finally been able to buy one😂😁👍😎thanks Tim 😁👍😎Pete 🤓
Aaaaaaa cool Pete. 🙂 It's not the best kit out there but it's a classic that builds up really nice.👍 Looking forward to seeing what you do with yours.😊 I have another which I thought about putting onto a Ford or Dodge. 🙂
The other nice thing about that kit is that it builds up really easy.
@@THROTTLEPOWER well the box Chevy cab is to be deleted and either a 53 F100 or,this I really hope will work,a 59 Ford Galaxie 😎😁
@@petesmodelcarcustoms584 Sounds good, I'll do something with my other one this Winter. You might motivate me to build it sooner. 🙂😊👍
@@THROTTLEPOWER Apart from playing with the parts,I'm not going to start it this year🤔. But I won't know until I play about.😁😎🤔. The kit has the worse Jerry can I have ever seen in my life, are there any decent 1/25 scale ones?🤔
Very nice build Tim and I've bought several of these kits!!
Thanks Shawn, do you still have them or did they see bottle rockets and fire crackers like many of my kits back in the day? 😉
@@THROTTLEPOWER the 4th of July was awesome around my house as a kid!! Lol😉
@@thescalemodelcarguychannel8681 I hear ya!!!
Thanks for the video. I have a couple of these in "storage"!!! Love your weathering skillz. My, My, what self respecting racer would let their tow rig get this nasty!:-)
Right on Kevin!
Lookin good
Thank you Matthew!!!!!!
That came out very well I really like the wheels with more than one wheel weight most people don't know that larger truck tires rarely balance out perfect... I'd better get a hopping and get one of these kits.
Thank you!! Yes, get one, I'm thinking about getting another... 😉
thats very fun... 😍
It was!!! 😉👍🙂
Looks good. I converted my wedge to a single dually axle. In my opinion it looks way better and more accurate to a period hauler.
Yea, I agree with you Glen. If I build another one that is what I would do. What color did you go with and did you use the cab it came with or something else?
@@THROTTLEPOWER I used the cab it came with. I painted the truck to match the car I put on it. I had a Wally Booth Rat Pack Camaro to haul. I bought the same decals as the car to put on the truck so it looked like an old team hauler.
@@glennhales617 Sounds like a nice build Glenn....... 😉
Nice build! I just finished one myself.
Awesome! Thank you! What color did you paint yours?
@@THROTTLEPOWER Two tone, white and light metallic blue

Very nice Tim. Bought one 2 weeks ago at UpScale Hobbies for a future build.
Very cool!
How was the hobby shop? I know they just opened about a month ago.
@@THROTTLEPOWER He was busy stocking shelves my first visit. Nice selection of automotive kits in the front of the store. Supplies in the middle and military in the rear. I think at this time he's seeing what customers interest is for the military kits as he said to some women helping him "See there's is a interest in those kits." He has a super detail kit for the 1/12th scale Tamiya Porsche 935 which I have but the cost is $950.00. My first real 356 cost me $500.00 back in 1979.
Yea, I understand that. Hard to get going but yet want to have what everyone wants. I need to get over there and film the shop so he can get more exposure.
@@THROTTLEPOWER I think it's great that you take the time to respond to comments from your viewers. You put a lot of time into your channel. Your doing a great job.
Cool.
Thank you!!

That looks awesome Tim. I think you need to do a video on the 2 modifieds. Ron
Thank you Ron............ As in showing and talking about the built kits?
Yes, I would love to see the two modifieds up close.
@@ronstewart9792 Aaaaaaa, ok........ I've been thinking about showing my older builds. My wife says I should too.
@@ronstewart9792 Michael Hintz and Bryan at BG's does it........... Hmmmmmmmm
I got the camper and the wedge in one kit long time ago
Oh yea, that's a GREAT kit!!
Not a bad kit. I'd keep everything except the frame.
Yea, the frame is old school.
I got this kit about three weeks ago, I just finished up building AMT s low boy trailer and still have the bulldozer to build to finish it up. I think after watching your video, I'm going to take a break from a big build and work on the racers wedge. Yours turned out great. That nova looked cool on the back. I like the way she looks under the hood. Your choice of colors was perfect. Did you use the tools that came with the kit? How about the doors on the sides do they open and close? Sharp build!!!!!
Thank you for the kind words Harold!! Yes, the trailer and dozer is a lot of work but rewarding when done. (Infact, I still need to finish my dozer I started and put away) ...... I decided not to use the tools because I'm collecting that stuff for an upcoming diorama. But yes, the doors will open if you choose too. And you can add the back side box's to set tools and stuff in/on so when you have the doors open all that stuff will show. I would have done that If I wasn't planning the upcoming diorama. Another nice thing about that kit is, the pick up by itself is really nice. So you could put the wedge on something else if you wanted to. Let me know how it goes!! 😉
@GT Classic Plastic Very cool and so much fun!
@GT Classic Plastic And yes, the engine stand is a must for a diorama.
Awesome kit .
Paint and build is great .
SOOO KOOOOOLLLL .
By any chance do you have a extra kit for sale ?
Thanks Mike .
Thanks Mike, no I don't.................
No problem , be safe .
@@diecast_MikeEspo Hey Mike, did you ever get my response back email I sent about a month ago?
Ooooops, scratch that Mike.... I think it was a different Mike asking about some cars for sale...
Awesome work Tim now i need to get this kit and its your fault lol.
Sorry! .................................. No, not really, LOL 🤣
@@THROTTLEPOWER I bet

I remember this kit when it came out built it twice I may need to get another well done Tim looks great btw I was in on the finish it in February I didn’t do a video yet
Thank you Jeff.......... Yea I wondered if you did a finished vid when I went searching for it.
@@THROTTLEPOWER not yet I’m hoping to get one out this weekend
@@Jeffsmodelgarage 👍👍👍👍👍
Am I mistaken or does the bed have so much overhang that with a car on it would make the front rare up in real life? Also be easy to drag the ground at the rear. Were they really made like that? Nice job building it.
Yea, it looks a bit out of proportion Robby. The real ones (from what I found) had only 1 rear axel and a beefier pick up/truck. I have this wedge with the camper kit and always thought about reworking the wedge to a single axel.
Great build but why did you put your mirrors so low
Thank you, I think that's where they fit best.
Nice job , Tim. Looks good.🖕🏻
Thanks Charlie!!!
2:05 Grumpy Jenkins still driving a Vega... You bet this is an old kit !
👍👍👍
Where did you get the diamond plate from? And who makes it? Thanks
I picked up the Diamond Plate at my local Hobby Shop and it's made by Plastruct.
Another good Diamond Plate to use (but is harder to find) is Don Mills. Let me know if that helps you out.
How do you make your window Stressed the windshield wiper like that
I lay a piece of paper on the windshield and draw the path of the wiper. Then I cut that out and put it over a piece of tape and trace it (X2), cut the tape (X2) and put the cut tape on the windshield for both sides as seen at the 3.46 mark in the video. Those 2 pieces on the windshield will be my mask as I lightly spray dull coat (or what ever dirty mixture you want) onto the windshield. After a light spray I then peel off the tape. If you need any more info or have any more questions feel free to ask as I will do my best to answer them. If you would like, I could do a video on that technique to.
@@THROTTLEPOWER Will do OK thanks Buddy
@@codeman365 Cool, was hoping that made sense. Are you building a weathered car?
@@THROTTLEPOWER The same model kit that you done in this video Lol I most of the time I do clean show work quality car so this time I will do the same thing like you did on a Chevrolet Car hauler and every once in a while I do a rustic car but the windows I don’t Make them look like you did to your windows on your car hauler
@@codeman365 Aaaaaaa ok, it's fun to weather! I've gotten to the point I enjoy that more then building a clean build.

@@JaysDiecastCreations Aaaa cool. Is that track still there? Speedrome is still going strong as they are known for the World Championship 3 Hour Figure 8.....
