I was beyond blown away when I received your penguin drawing! I will cherish him forever! You nailed it. Thank you again. Really, it means so much to me! ❤
I am so happy that you love it. I was so nervous making something for you and then so happy with the result. It drove me crazy to be so excited by it and not be able to show anyone for 2 months 😂
@lozantoninocreations it's perfect! I love it so much! I know what you mean, I was so excited about what I made for my person, too. It's so hard to have to wait!
That is the CUTEST little penguin and I love that you chose an animal native to Australia! A wonderful way to start this collaboration 🥰 I can’t wait to watch everyone’s videos this weekend and I really hope you’ll like mine ❤
I got lucky with her animal choices. People always think of Australia and their mind goes to Koalas, Kangaroos and all the killer wildlife. It was fun featuring a different animal that is just so sweet and adorable.
awe, that's really sweet ! (the Penguins on Phillip Island). Your penguin drawing is amazing! Well done! 🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧❣ and Rose's gift to you is awesome, too. 😃👍❣
Thank you so much! ❤ I had a lot of fun working on this project and I was thrilled to be paired with Rose. She always makes things that are so much fun and I love her style.
Thanks Sarah ❤️ I was actually pleasantly surprised that I pulled it off 🤣 I'm really happy how it came out. It's been driving me crazy for two months, because I've been so proud of this piece and had to keep it secret all this time.
Beautiful creation of the penguin!! 🐧 Bravo on tackling a medium you are not as familiar with!! 👏👏 Rose made an adorable piece for you as well!! 💞 All of you all working together has made my year so much brighter!! 🌈🥰
You are so sweet always ❤️ Rose always does such fun things. When I heard a package arrived and it was from her state, I was so excited. Up until then, I didn't know who it would be. I love Rose. She always does cute things that are inspiring.
Aw your art piece was lovely!! I had no idea that Australia got penguins of all creatures, that's so cool! You guys get so many interesting critters over there, its fun to learn something new from this collab haha :)
Thanks so much! ❤️ that's one of the reasons I ended up choosing it. People always know Koalas and Kangaroos and also the deadly spiders and snakes. I think only tourists know the penguins, as they probably see it in the guide books and then it becomes a must see thing.
Sorry, I just realised you guys have 250k of subs. I missed that when I said that Kristy was the largest in the collab to show context of who was doing it. Apologies. I knew you guys were high, but missed that.
That penguin turned out stunning! I haven’t used pastels in years but this kind of inspires me to try them again. The fact that you didn’t accidentally smudge everything is mind blowing to me 😂
@@VisualMind thanks you. You would be amazing with pastels ❤️ I'm surprised too 🤣 Kneaded erase is pastels best friend though. It does a pretty good job clearing up accidental messes.

Thanks ❤️ It was so much fun. I can't wait to see what you do. It's been such a great year getting to know you all. All the Melbourne crew need to get together one of these days.
Hullo! I recently started working with soft pastels and I have a few sets of pencils too! I had a stroke in 2015 and the Dr. said I would recover faster if I took up a task or worked in a field I had never worked in before and I have been a freelance Artist for over 40 years! do Soft pastels was just about the ONLY medium I had never worked with! So I started and I think your doing great, this bird is tops! I will have to check out more of your videos! See ya in a future video comment!
Thank you so much ❤️ I'm sorry about the stroke. I hope you're doing well. Pastels are certainly an interesting and fun medium to use. I would love to do more with them and maybe try some pan pastels too. For now though, the pencils are definitely something I'm enjoying learning.
@ Thanks for the concern, I am doing well and although it did force me into an earlier retirement than I had expected. I am currently working on art pieces for myself and creating some of my best work in many years. I have gone back to my first artistic endeavor, working in watercolor! I have been astounded by how free and loose most people are creating in the medium I found to be rigid and not very easy to master! People are using white paint IN THEIR PAINTINGS! I was never allowed to use it in any of my paintings from age 10 when I started painting with my Gran, I tried it in 1976 in a piece for the county fair for the bi-centennial and it was rejected by the admissions lady for not being a true watercolor painting! I had used white in a cloud and that was still a no no! I worked gouache at a design studio out of college so I was familiar with how to make it work. Well I look forward to seeing more of your work and watching your videos! See you in the comments section!
Thanks for watching ❤ They are doing a lot these days to help with the conservation and protecting the species at least. I think there may also be other areas along the coast that also have some colonies.

Not yet, but I will. ❤️ I was so worried about my reveal because I wanted you to know I love it, but realise I don't just have resting bitch face, I discover something new, resting bitch voice 🤣 I really love the piece and it's on my wall near my desk. I can't wait to see your video as you create it.
I love your little penguin! Do you usually leave pastel pictures without fixative? This is why I've not used them much, I don't want to spend loads of time and money on fixatives that ruin my art! You did a great job on recovering it ☺️ Merry Christmas! 😊
Thank you so much ❤ I have only done a couple of pieces before it and I did the fixative of those months later, so didn't notice any issues. I had just kept the sheet of paper that comes with the pads over the top, to keep them nice before that. Some people say they just frame the pastel, as once its behind glass, it wont matter. With this one, because I was shipping it, I wanted to make sure it got to her safely, so sealed it. I don't know if I would use it again. It might depends on the piece.
I will definitely try that! Thanks for the tip! ❤ I have been using the fixative mostly, which I love for graphite layers, but I definitely need a different product for pastels, as the one I have at least, isn't the best. It is fantastic for other mediums, just not this one as much. Lesson learnt and I think I will know better for next time.
Hi there! Another proud Aussie here 😊 I was just wondering which fixative it was that you used? I have only recently tried pastel pencils and tried the Micador fixative. It seems to have worked really well either way very minimal colour change. As a bonus, it dries in seconds and costs around $17.00AUD - and it is an Aussie company! Just thought I would let you know my (very limited) experience with fixative 😊😊😊
Thanks ❤️ That's the same one I tried. I think what happened might have been spraying too much at once (too wet) or being too close. I say this because the colours did darken, but it might have been the paper colour I could see coming through. I'm wondering if I caused the pastel to wash or blow off. I'm very inexperienced with the spray so might have used it wrongly. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment and help me 🙂
