Great video. Subscribed to the channel. Love Black Sabbath. First time I saw Sabbath was with Tony Martin on the Forbidden tour with Motorhead. Motorhead by far is the loudest band I've ever seen. Could barely hear Sabbath as they followed. 🤣
I waited too long for the CD box of Anno Domini, but picked up the LP version... which arrived yesterday! I heard the CDs were being issued individually, so I'll get those and be happy. Don't know these albums either - it will be a fun listen. Thanks for the update!
Geezer and Toni wasn't opposed to Ward in the first place. Though they did actually shit on their band mate by siding with the one in Charge... Sharon (the irony being that Ozzy was fired and Sharon is the reincarnation of their hated Manager/her Father. Course Ozzy doesn't know anything other than the two sharons sitting on his shoulders yelling into his ears.
Hey Bill.....great video. !!! Thanks for the shout out....Shock Wave Over Texas is phenomenal!!... I highy recommend getting the I.R.S. japanese deluxe of Forbidden.....I always loved this album and played it to death for years.....the remix is louder...Iommi turned up the guitars for sure ( reminds me of the alleged bone of contention with Live Evil ) and I suspect that during the remixing he had his guitar handy ...Illusion of Power has the guitar louder....the Geoff Nichols sound effects that I loved are eliminated from history...Tony Martin seems to be lower and inexplicably Ice Tea is louder ...I'm surprised Iommi didn't remove Ice Tea..on Get A Grip another track I loved the guitar is way over distorted like he's trying to sound like some " new " band....the rest of it is great....especially the great drums of Cozy Powell...
@@larrynolletti4594 ok I’ll keep an eye out for that version of Forbidden. The Shock Wave rec level teeters on overdone but that gives it a little extra punch, what a great show. Most ferocious they sounded since Cal Jam in terms of the available sbds. The Pitt 76 & 78 shows come across kinda flat compared to Abilene and the earlier stuff. Thanks again
@classicrockmetalreview8523 yes...and not only does it prove that Ozzy was not burnt out and shot as you pointed out but I'll never believe van Halen blew them away...I've heard bootlegs from back then and yes van Halen is playing fast and tapping but no one blows away Iommi....other guitarists were horrified about Van Halen but it didn't phase Iommi...he was more worried about Kiss opening for them...
@@larrynolletti4594is there a difference in the mixes of the standard IRS Forbidden vs. the Japan deluxe? With the standalone Martin reissues coming out I’m noticing the old IRS copy prices are dropping, but the Japan versions are still up there
@classicrockmetalreview8523 well I say the Japanese version because of the bonus track....both are the original mx...I assume the rhino will be the new mix.....
After comparing yet again Forbidden tracks there is no question that I Won't Cry For You is better on the original....the lead break on the I.R.S. sounds like a throwaway lead from You Won't Change Me from Technical Ecstasy....so does the rhythm underneath lead and the guitar tone....on the remix a newer shorter lead...
