While I am excited for the Tony Martin box set, I'm disappointed that Cross Purposes Live isn't included. To have a Bluray release and a 2cd set of the complete show would have pushed this set over the top!
You’re right. CP Live is the most elusive of the Martin era. THAT’S the one they should have insisted on including. That video needs a remastering too. My VHS and bootleg DVD copies both have crazy variations in clarity and color hues throughout. The VHS is a bit more tolerable but something is very off
Hey Bill...great show...I blame Sharon...no doubt.....Tony Martin said in an interview that he got with Iommi about cleaning up some tracks that were in the can not finished or even record some new ones and Iommi informed him that because of the contracts that they signed in order to record and tour with Ozzy that no new material can be released under the name of Black Sabbath without Ozzy...( this is why with Dio they were Heaven and Hell )...they sold their souls to sharon....the box set is still more than worth it....the albums are out of print..the I.R.S. label is toast... now we get all 4 great albums with the bonuses and Iommi Forbidden remaster...I'm sure there'll be a book....for 54 dollars....that's a steal....add up 4 the price of 4 deluxe editions....yes it does suck that any gems ,sessions or new material cannot be released....
@bjrnsjohnsen1278 because she has been after the exclusive rights to the name for decades.....and of course this is the cookie that was dangled in front of them in order to cash in on a lucrative Ozzy reunion....as I stated....they sold their souls to sharon....and that is the reason why their is nothing new on this boxset....and all of these fantastic live show bootlegs with Dio....Gillan...Ray Gillan and Tony Martin will never be officially released....
True, they sold their souls like Larry said. I recall when they announced H&H in late 05 I think. At the time they admitted it was because of that Sharon/Ozzy contract. Before long tho, Tony was selling it as the name they wanted all along 🙄
@classicrockmetalreview8523 yes..and I'm sure Dio didn't mind not singing Ozzy songs....there was more than enough Dio Sabbath and Heaven and Hell for a whole show....I actually preferred it....

I’d pay to ask him about it on tape. Someone in the Midwest said he saw it on that tour too, but honestly I can’t believe anyone but myself. A bunch of people who say they were at the same show think it was Carmine, or the following tour, but I only saw Crue this once.
I assembled your version of “Reborn Again” from my own files and that's what I listen to now. I always thought kicking things off with 'Trashed' was too disorienting - for whatever reason. The new song order won me over right away.
Cool. I just burned it onto a CD-R a few minutes ago. I had an older Manor Tape in iTunes, so I just uploaded the Legendary Masters version. Once you’re past Stonehenge it’s a real scorcher of a record now huh?
I’m monkeying around with Blizzard right now. Side 1 is perfect but maybe the B-sides and a running order change could improve side 2. Not too sure yet there but my Bark is way better. Cover that next.
@@classicrockmetalreview8523 I actually thought of going the CD-R route but I noticed your collection was almost bang-on 45-minutes, perfect for a standard cassette tape. I played around with the equalizer to brighten the sound a bit, then routed it through an external DAC and recorded it to a new-ish looking Maxell XL II. I don't go for the cassette copy that often, but it was fun to make anyway.
That playlist was culled from existing uploads by others. I really should throw my own version up there tho at this point. I was a big cassette guy initially, worked at home and in the car. Had 600 at one point.
Ozzy Montreal 7/28/81 Live Radio Broadcast later released as 'Ozzy Live' - first included as Disc 2 of the 'Diary Of A Madman: Legacy Edition' (2011) and later as a standalone, limited edition, Record Store Day LP release titled simply, 'Ozzy Live' (2012)
I had a shot at that one but passed when I learned right before RSD that Ozzy redid the vocals on it. Someone burned me the Legacy CD. Although I wanna get a real version anyway. So Elliot, Legacy uses Montreal and Tribute used Cleveland ‘81?
Tribute was mostly Cleveland. They took the Suicide Solution guitar solo from Montreal & inserted it-Goodbye to Romance & No Bone Movies were from 1980. The Ozzy Live I had originally seen that as the Montreal King Biscuit show, but now have also seen it as 'Recordings from the Blizzard of Ozz Tour.
Tribute is the Cleveland show, but the guitar solo is spliced in from Montreal. Additionally 2 tracks were from 1980 when Lee& Bob were still in the band. Montreal was a King Biscuit show that was broadcast. When the Legacy came out it was originally stated as that show, although now you can find evidence of that or it will just say Recorded during Blizzard tour.
@elliottwhalen6415 As far as I know, every live Ozzy product has re-recorded vocals. I’m surprised the Sabbath SDEs were approved without the same BS treatment 😃

In all honesty, if you are looking to do a best-of Martin era collection; it starts and ends with the entire TYR album.
I’ve heard it’s some people’s favorite. That’s the one I’m looking forward to the most because of that and it’s the one I’m least familiar with
