Fraxel Vs. Clear & Brilliant

  • Опубліковано 18 сер 2024
  • The difference between Fraxel restore and Clear + Brilliant laser is that Fraxel Restore is a stronger treatment with a bit more downtime vs Clear + Brilliant which had no downtime at all. I like to tell my patients that 3-4 treatments with Clear + Brilliant equals one treatment with Fraxel Restore with regard to the results. So for people who cannot take time off work or need a quick treatment without any redness or downtime Clear + Brilliant is the way to go. There is no redness swelling or downtime with Clear + Brilliant. Fraxel Restore on the other hand has 1 week of redness and swelling. We call is a "laser facial". Both lasers stimulate collagen and improve the texture and tone of your skin. They both shrink pore size, reduce fine lines and wrinkles and eliminate brown spots and patches. Over time doing laser resurfacing treatments will keep your skin younger and healthier overtime.

    My dermatologist made me think of something very interesting. She told me that no matter what cosmetic procedures we do, we do not make ourselves look younger, we just make ourselves look good for our age. I kind of agree with this statement and I would be curious to hear your opinion. You clearly take care of yourself and you look great, but I don't believe anybody would take you for a 30 year old. You just look great for your age and I think this is all we can expect from dermatologists.

It is intimidating when you know you would like to have something done but don’t have the knowledge base to make an educated decision on what procedure to talk to a dermatologist about. Some of your viewers I am sure are like me in that they don’t have a lot of different Drs to choose from. Thank you for an informative video regarding Fraxel and Clear + Brilliant. You explain each one so that we can understand the difference of each laser and pick the one right for our needs. I have had 3 microcurrent sessions. How does microcurrent compare to Clear + Brilliant? I am 55. I am concerned about sagging around the jowls. I have been considering doing Clear + Brilliant since there is no down time. My 4th microcurrent session is this week. The office that does the microcurrent does not do laser of any kind. So if Clear + Brilliant will give better results I am willing to do that.. if money allows and if someone in my area does Clear + Brilliant I will give it a try. Thank you again for your time.

The one who did mine scared me away from the fraxel. She said it would be very hot, very uncomfortable, and I would have 10 days downtime. This doesn't match with Dr. K says, so it would appear she is more highly trained and experienced. Wish I could make it out to CA.

Do mini superficial peels done every month help at all to build collagen. I have had an illumize peel once. I know many people Don't peel from this as is nicknamed the red carpet peel, but I was pretty flaky for 2 days, took 3 days for the flaky's to disappear. So can they help over time?

    Hi there! I am Asian, struggling with brown spots, and have been told by a dermatologist friend of my husband, never to let anyone put a laser on my skin. She told me this in passing as we were saying our goodbyes, but it seemed as though she wanted to elaborate more but didn't have the opportunity. Was this just a general statement to keep me from going to a fly-by-night establishment who could potentially do more harm than good, or is that the rule for Asian skin? I guess I could ask her, but I was curious about your opinion and thought this might be helpful for others with the same issue. Thank you so much for sharing with us who are thirsty! :)

    • @DrStefaniKappel
      @DrStefaniKappel  5 років тому +4

      C B Great question. So the rule for Asian skin is that you must pre and post treat Asian skin with hydroquinone or a skin brightener to protect against post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Usually the treatment is started 1 to 2 weeks prior to laser and should continue 1 month after laser. Any laser fellowship grainier dermatologist or plastic surgeon will know this but many less experienced medi spas etc will not and may just not treat Asian patients altogether. It can be done safely and without risk of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation if done correctly by a skilled laser surgeon.

But I did that play my morning sunscreen I have a hat and glasses really worried that I'm going to cause excess damage to my skin because of my work environment. Any advice?

    I kept watching this video waiting for the doctor to talk about laser treatments for darker skin and nothing was mentioned. Such a disappointment. There is a lot of contradictory info out there on what is safe for darker skin tones and what isn't. It would be nice to see doctors discuss it, or at least admit from the get-go they're only talking about light skin so we can click out.

      That's the beach...... Sadly there are no lasers you can use to stimulate brain cells.

    Clear and Brilliant is a waste of money. Nothing more. People want to look better but without pain or downtime. Dummies in one word.
