The reason for the periodic "offline" and the reason the Scimitar didn't fire at the end is because of the phaser passive. Phasers have a chance of momentarily knocking a subsystem offline. The damage that was piercing the shield ws plasma burns. When the torpedo explodes, the kinetic damage is absorbed by the shield but because it's a plasma torpedo, it set the ship on fire. DoT damage bypasses shields.
Been getting back into Startrek partially thanks to you and honestly that opening statement is so true it makes me wonder how the Romulans even got to space in the first place.
@@mercerholt8299 Yeah Vulcans were already warp capable and then a large group of them rejected the Logic movement and left the planet and eventually became known as Romulans(and Remans)
That Intrepid Class you saw was the USS Voyager. As for the getting Hull Damage despite having Shields, most Shields have 10% Bleedthrough, meaning that 10% of incoming damage bypasses the Shields and goes to the hull. The exception are resilient shields, which have 5% Bleedthrough

Shack really need's to turn on auto loot in space it drops ship loot and he left something behind. I remember way back getting a blue drop in the early missions and it felt great getting that drop. It was a phaser bank the I used instead of a trop it made the play style so diff then other captain's that I made later.
A quick note, one of the missions later on in the story gives you a special gift as a reward. As to not spoil the mission, I won’t say what you get, but it’s a quite special ship. The mission is called “Temporal Ambassador” in the “Yesterday War” story line, but luckily it has no real relation to the story so no need to worry about spoilers. It’s also available from the start. (Note: the ship that you receive will require you to be at least level 20 to use.)
T6 level with your rank. but most things are still unlocked as you go. Only ones that are powerful to level are like any Legendary bundle ship with a few exceptions. At your current level a defiant would only have 2 tac consoles and 1 of the others the same as a NX at your level.
You can use any T6 ship you want but they will be nerfed until you reach lvl 65. They're still typically better than any of the beginner ships you get but they'll have some of the weapon slots locked, less hull capacity, modules slots locked and crew slots locked until you level up the character.
@TheXPGamers If and when you decide to upgrade to a new ship. RATHER that a super famous and recognizable ship. How about a less common one? I'm partial to the New Orleans class myself. I think It'd make an awesome candidate.
As much as you dislike the ground combat as I do, you have to keep on top of your character equipment and kits. There are some difficult storyline ground missions later if you are not playing on normal and pretty much the entire New Romulus chapter is ground based.
You should also keep power to weapons or engines when trying to manoeuvre a lot. aux power that you have set a lot is doing nothing for you other than hull regen. weapon power would increase the rate of fire and damage of your beams. eng power would let you turn to fire torps faster
@TheXPGamers I have been playing STO for about 7 years, if I can ever help you with ship builds and other gearing advice. Starfleet Command though you might benefit from some assistance due to the high-risk nature of your ships tasking. I'd love to help advise and improve your ship and crews efficiency
This mission would have been much easier, if you'd done the missions in in order.. you started the romulan arc, before the klingon war arc was over.... i'm not even sure how you managed that, lol. I recently started a co-op playthrough with my brother, and by the time this battle occurred, we were both at least level 10, with heavy cruisers. Also, the armament you have equipped to this ship is not very good. you could output WAY more damage, with the correct setup.
The Empire is really in bad shape isn't it? The T'varo is over 200 years old by this point (or like Starfleet they use the same hulls, with updated internal systems)
Did the endgame improve? I loved STO but after hitting level 60 with Engineer,Tactical and Science as both Federation and Klingon it just became a boring.
If what you're asking is does the game do anything else when you finish the storylines for those faction then the answer is no but you can still do the event that pop-up monthly or weekly or whatever it is you can do those to get dilithium energy credits would have you and even better possibly free ships so that you can erase a character and do it all over again after the tutorial with the new ship. After that there's nothing really left to do. I've got all my character slots filled up with potential storyline characters. Meaning that I do one I finish it then do another one and so on and so forth.
Meh, love STO and series might be interesting... but clinging onto that shit Miranda when so many cooler and more iconic ships are available I can't get over. And that ship name... Starfleet would never waste a spot in the registry for a name like that.
Shack: oh there's an Intrepid!!!
Everyone watching: No Shack, that's THE Intrepid
"Cryptic Studios is now following!" -> Gz dude, you got their attention :D

the only bad thing about that series is that there cant be enough episodes in a week to fill my need for this. Keep up the good work!

Back when the Romulans got into space they still counted as Vulcans.

This was too short!! I want more! 😅 love this series I look forward to the next one!
The Extra Parts seems to need some extra parts
Okay, adding that extra dialog during the editing was clever.
I think it might be time for the extra parts to get a good ol fashion refit/ship-change
Shack, Shift + R to go into Full Impulse rather than you clicking it
9:05 I like the ground combat. :)
You left the science vessels undefended 😂
Yes! My show is back on! :-) 3:19 Reduce your speed a bit so that your ship will turn tighter.

One thing that can help you a lot in combat, is to transfer your energy to weapons. In the video you have it set to balanced.
I just played this mission a few days ago and legit thought Shak played it already.
I haven't been so confused in a long time.
Sela blames Spock for the destruction of Vulcan. Heh.
The irony

STILL watching this. Awesome game, love this channel. Can you do a Romulan Republic campaign at some point?
I think the Extra Parts needs to up grade to her younger sister, the Akira. Loving the series bud!!

I miss playing this game.
Love following this series
I want you to keep with the Miranda class It's just like real star trek, sending a Miranda to do all the dangerous work.
This really makes me want to play that star trek mod for stellaris

Waited way too long for this lol
need 1 hour episodes!!!!!😍
When Shacks Series is More faithful and entertaining than all the New “StarTrek” series 😂
I'm redownloading the game because of you sir!
The "Random fire" is "beam fire at will" and in current meta is nowhere near a good as the alternative "beam overload"
Are we renaming the new ship,? I mean the Extra Parts became extra parts, from what I could tell…
Its a plasma torpedo that cause the damgae
So Shack is probably grabbing the Connie when he gets to tier 2. Escorts are fun but the Saber looks like dust buster.

He could find a ship that looks like an upgraded version of the (extra parts)
shack you need a hull repair engineering officer
I'm trapped with a character I really like in STOL but nothing but combat to do with them.
Excellent, im really enjoying sto
Lasted a lot longer than the Miranda's in TNG or DS9

cool video.
Any body else wanting some missions that you need to use shuttle craft or fighter for?
So how you like the game so far?
And what do the vulcans feel about this defense, nothing
Ground combat is easier and much better as you get more gear and abilities
What rank are you shack cause I'm 41 and have the sov class

The wonky ground combat is what made stop playing this to begin with.
