You'll definitely want to see more of the game because of how varied the later levels get. I'd also recommend the sequel called Sparkster: Rocket Knight Adventures 2, that ain't too shabby either.
I own a complete copy of Sparkster and I must say that the music in that game is fantastic! But the new rocket mechanics take a little getting used to.

Forgotten worlds is the game for that (if you don't play with 2 people or you both die same time that is it. 1 player mode is literally the definition of one life mode on megadrive/genesis one i could never beat it like that). Ab is hard but atleast it gives you lives and you can adjust your health on options.

Shinobi 3 is the best Genesis game IMO, but i think they should play The Super Shinobi (Japanese version of Revenge of Shinobi)... i think it would be funny if they'd catch the references as they play.
It was pretty funny watching someone play that didn't know the boss patterns when you have played them so many times you know exactly what they are going to do.

But I was definitely glad to see resurgence of them in the last few years. Monster boy,Wonder boy Adventure island itself have all gotten follow ups or spiritual successors or remakes.

But I have to say that the way you ended with the SDTV look, and then panned out to the angle of the TV while showing other videos to click while the video is still going is a genius move, and I just love the look of it! You guys need to do a full play through of Rocket Knight Adventures. Is a great 10/10 game. I'm surprised you guys didnt keep playing cause it's that type of game that it's hard to drop once you get into it.
Since you guys like Castlevania so much, play Master of Darkness (aka Vampire Master of Darkness for Gamegear) for the Sega Master System. Its Sega doing a castlevania clone, but the movement is less stiff and the gameplay is a bit more forgiving than the NES games.
The Sega Master Sytem has the better Version [gameplay (and i like the Graphic more as the Wonderboy for the Sega Genesis)]. And i have played in the Genesis Collection the "Alex Kidd..." Game, but the Master System Version "Alex Kidd in Miracle World" is still better as the Overload (and Sh!t to play) Version for the Genesis ... 😜 Nice days all ;)

Are you sure your familiar with Altered Beast? I was content till you kept skipping the power-ups. Should try Shining Force I & II or Shining in the Darkness. Phantasy Star is another great series or Shadowrun, all great genesis games.

@@Burn_Angel Yeah that is also a good point. I would imagine they would probably have a hard time with it since if you make a bad move then you would get slaughtered. The game definitely can be unforgiving especially if they weren't familiar with it.
@@AnriDarkmoor Well, unforgiving isn't really the word. It's a hard game, but you don't even get a game over screen, and unlike most SRPGs, you can grind for XP. It can be pretty challenging for beginners though.

That would be primarily up to Konami, not Sega. An old school Konami compilation could be great though.

Please try Landstalker on the Genesis - This game is often overlooked, but its as good as Zelda. incredible game.

'Decap Attack' and 'Greendog the Beached Surfer Dude' for the Sega Genesis would be fun to watch them play. Loved those games when I was a kid~!
Sub Terrania is kinda a hidden gem and its super fun. Bit of a learning curve at the beginning though.

Are you sure your familiar with Altered Beast? I was content till you kept skipping the power-ups. Should try Shining Force I & II or Shining in the Darkness. Phantasy Star is another great series or Shadowrun, all great genesis games.
I don't think they'll have fun out of Shining in the Darkness though.
@@Burn_Angel Yeah, I now honestly don't even know what I was thinking even suggesting that. I could definitely see them not enjoying it or doing it justice.
@@AnriDarkmoor Oh, now that I think of it, they may bash Shining Force 1 because there are some maps where it takes a lot of turns to actually engage the enemy, which is too bad since it's such a good game.
@@Burn_Angel Yeah that is also a good point. I would imagine they would probably have a hard time with it since if you make a bad move then you would get slaughtered. The game definitely can be unforgiving especially if they weren't familiar with it.
@@AnriDarkmoor Well, unforgiving isn't really the word. It's a hard game, but you don't even get a game over screen, and unlike most SRPGs, you can grind for XP.
It can be pretty challenging for beginners though.
