Brachy weapons have always been a favorite of mine, since so few monsters have an active resistance to Slime/Blastblight. My first encounter with Daddy Brach was the Guildmarm's quest in 4U, and her love of him made me love him.

As a player who started in Tri, 3 Ultimate came out with this new flagship, Brachydios, and I was taken by surprise. This monster was the first time in awhile since I had encountered a wall, my last one had been experiencing Diablos for the first time. Brachydios was a completely unique fight, one where you had to be constantly on your toes. Your opponent this time was literally a boxer, not only packing a literal mighty punch, but for the first time we had a highly evasive Brute Wyvern who backstepped, who sidehopped and leapt forward and would reposition just as hunters would. We’ve had this experience with other monsters but Brachydios was the first Brute to bring that style to the table. Also Blast status coming out quickly became my favorite status, and I loved the urgency it put in combat to roll it off. His weapons are by far my favorite weapons in all of Monster hunter, I especially love the Demolition trees, and the Lightbreak trees they evolve into. In 4U when they first released CB and IG, the Dios Strongarm charge blade made me fall in love with the weapon type, and I mained that weapon and farmed up that specific weapon as well. Overall Brachydios through out all the hours I spent hunting him and overcoming him as a wall, never got boring, because he would always catch me off guard even after I mastered him. Brachydios is my favorite monster of all time because everything about him was amazingly designed from look to fight to theme to weapons. And I most definitely am hoping that they bring back this amazing Brute. He would fit in so well in World, and would make an excellent addition to the Elders Recess and other maps he went to, because he wasn’t exclusive to just one map, just like Tiegrex, but wasn’t a true invasion monster just like Tiegrex as well. I really hope that we get to see Brachydios return, because I can only imagine the turf wars. Just imagine Rathalos flying out off reach firing a fire balls at Brachy only to have Brachy leap up and spike him down to the ground with a punch. Imagine Deviljho snapping his jaws around Brachydios easy to grab forelimb and throwing him away in a turf war, only to have his mouth painfully explode a few seconds later.

Having another old flagship monster in Iceborne would be awesome. In fact, I hope all the flagships return. That would really help with the variety. Though I guess it would also eat up slots for newer creations.

My number 1 reason for why Brachydios is my favorite monster you ask? Simple. He can do the one thing I've always wanted to do as a child. Make something explode by punching it
7:17 Brachydios: All my training has lead to this moment... This was always one of my favorite kinship moves in that game. It's both funny to show the training montage, but also sweet how it shows you working with your monster to bring it to its peak performance.

I recently got back Into MHXX since the port for switch and stumbled upon your videos! They've been really helpful and are fun to watch! I remember from MH4U that the Raging Brachydios was one of the toughest monsters for me to overcome even if I was at the endgame! One of the more memorable monsters to say the least! Keep up the great work!
Best/worst memory with brachy was one MH3U quest with 2 of them at the same time, which me and my brother used to farm for his armor and weapon and we literally had to do it 35 more times After i've completed everything, just so that my brother would get his last gem. That was ridiculous RNG but me and my brother will never forget what this brachy quest made us do lol
Yes! The best boy! So glad that the pseudoscience of Brachy was included. Only makes the "T-rex who punches stuff but also the things he punches literally explode" even more awesome! I really hope my favorite monster joins my second favorite, Tigrex, for the manliest duo of flagships.

@@Stratelier rajang is already super sayian plus he can can go broly berserker mode when enraged while using various techniques and moves from akuma and blanka. So rajang would be a better choice

definitely the monster my opinion has changed the most of. I went from being neutral, to liking him, to disliking him, to hating him, to thinking he's okay, to thinking he's good, to thinking he's fantastic.
MH3U was the first Monster Hunter game I convinced my friends to buy after showing them several hunts in MH:Tri. We were a ragtag band of hunters. One person used a switch axe, one greatsword, one dual blade and one lance. We always managed to power our way through hunts after several attempts wih no real attempts at teamwork or strategy. That changed when we first met Brachy. I swear it took us a good 20 hours just to beat the dual Brachy fight. We sat down after a couple hours and all decided to swap up weapons and armor to give it another shot. Hearing that sweet, sweet victory fanfare after managing to down the second Brachy with less than five minutes remaining cemented the monster Hunter series in all of our favorite series. Over 900 Hours later and we still get together regularly and play MH:World and occasionally MH4U. We all hope and pray that Brachy and Zinogre get added with Icebourne but I guess only time will tell. Keep up the amazing work, your videos always warrant a get together to play some Monster Hunter and listen to our sensei. Happy hunting!
Brachydios was my wall too! I began my Monster Hunter career in 4 Ultimate and started with the Longsword because I love Japanese style katana as well as the precision and style of the weapon. All was good and well until Brachy pounded me into oblivion relentlessly. I was like "Okay, I really need to get more defensive!" I found your channel, did my research, honed my skills & Guard Points and now I am a Charge Blade main! Thanks so much much for all of your hard work over the years! I am a much better Hunter all because of you!
Awesome theme, awesome design, awesome fight, what’s not to love? Also it’s probably just me but Brachy has always given me strange halo vibes with its colour scheme and explosive plasma like mold, idk that could just be me
I remember in your Narga vidoe, you said you always love your first cover monster. I started with 3U officially, and that means Brachy was mine. The fight, the look, how the armor and weapons looks, and of course blast. I love it all and he remains my favorite.
Brachydios was truly the endgame for me in MH3U. My hunting squad is only 3 people including me, so surviving and dealing enough damage with 3 out of 4 hunters to kill the Clashing Fists Brachydios took an entire semester's worth of weekends hanging out with my hunting squad to try and take it down enough times to get the Majestic Scepter. Beating that quest has always been an accomplishment I look back on as a testament to me and my team's skill.
I've always seen good ol Brachy in the 3 cover and trailers and knew I had to fight him so when I got to play mh4u during a hurricane I finally made it to him and my lord he cemmented himself as one of my fav. fights. Having to farm him in Generations in low rank for more weapons was a drag but fighting him was worth it each time as his style of fighting is just so pleasing to see in a monster.
This video reminded me I’ve been a fan of the franchise for six years and I’ve been subscribed here for quite a long time as well! I really hope Brachydios comes back he’s my favorite fight of all monsters and his SnS was always my favorite! Thank you for this awesome video as well!
My absolute favorite monster (besides Astalos). I kinda consider it as my mentor because it helped me getting better at the game (I'm still kinda bad though lol). MH3U was also my first MH game and Brachy was the biggest wall I had to overcome in the series. I must have lost like 50 times before finally winning. Beating it for the first time was one of my most satisfying moments in any game. And when I did the Sticky Situation urgent quest, I was pretty scared at first and lost a few times, but it went surprisingly way better than my first time against it, which made me feel proud. In a way, defeating Brachydios was the very first time I had ever felt proud of myself. That's part of why I love it so much. Aside from that, Brachy's just an absolutely fantastic monster overall, unique fighting style, awesome design and incredible battle theme. So yeah, I love Brachydios. 😅
My favorite monster still to this day is Lagiacrus, as I started with Tri. But, when I fist encountered Brachydios, he was such a joy to fight that he also holds a special place in my heart as one the most “edge of your seat” type fights.
Brachydios: The monster that made me have an emotional sense of respect and awe for a ficticious and virtual creature. My favorite monster in the entire series due to the hunt, music, and the use of its environments working so well together! The difficulty of the fight only made it more interesting, especially as a Hammer user. It felt like a mutual fight due to the blunt archetypes of both the Hammer and the Brachydios being very similar to each other. Dodging around each other in an explosive flurry of rage and precision is still fresh in my mind! Brachydios would be a perfect monster for Monster Hunter: World. Truly a spectacle and would provide an amazing challenge. When it would sometimes invade quests, it would even rival the Deviljho in its scale of power.
Sticky Situation quest MH3U was my favorite!! So many great memories chasing Brach Mantles. One of my favorite monsters by far. I hope he is in iceborne. Great vid!!!
I'm proud of how far you've come, too! I used to watch Shepard's videos and podcasts but he stopped doing instructional videos during that long wait for MH4. I remember your videos showed up in my searches some time after that. I remember your first videos had no talking, just subtitles, but when you started talking I loved it because you were so calm and good at conveying the concepts you were trying to get across. Brachy was such a trip in 3U. My friends and I struggled to get the G-rank armorsets and weapons, but they were ALWAYS fun to use. And stylish! It was a little annoying how Brachy would sometimes cross the room suddenly with little telegraphing, but it became worth it in 4U when suddenly there was an opportunity to interrupt it mid-air. I would love to see the Brach return in Iceborne, it's an important flagship.
As someone who's only played World and some of Tri back in the day, I really like this series of vids cause I get to learn about the monsters I see so many people asking for in World. Keep it up!
All of Brachs weapon designs were some of the coolest in their respective games. Not to mention really good to boot with blast. I remembering farming for hours just to get a mantle, good times.
I farmed him so much in MH3U it became easy to dodge almost every attack, like his long jump was easy to dodge if you rolled right at him when he jumped. My favorite monster ever.
You and i were having a talk about this over twitter but brachy was the monster that started my love for lance and it was such a cool design being someone who has a bit of boxing skills myself seeing a monster that kinda emulates that was super cool
Love this monster so much. Got carted twice on my first hunt and was about to leave quest thinking that this guy was just too out of my league... but I thought about how much info I got from the monster during the first 2 carts and said, "No, I got this." Took its ass down and it's been one of my top 5 faves ever since. Its one of the reasons I really got hooked on this series.
Brachy's colorful design and amalgamation of ideas always appealed to me. It's a monster with a really cool name, really cool concept, and really cool execution. It's one of the best monsters in the series, I think.
These videos are awesome! Only thing I think you could add is maybe some info on the sounds design for the monsters! Most monsters have some really cool origin stories for their roars and growls, would make for good content. Keep up the good work!
Brachydios is easily my favorite monster. M4U was my first MH game and I literally bought it because the Brachy Charge Blade in ads looked so damn cool.
This was so fun to watch and learn more about the monsters in this universe! I'm excited and hopeful that you're able to do more monsters, and looking forward to the next ones.
My favorite memory in relation to Brachydios is from Generations. I was almost done with the 6* village quests, and just needed to do one last quest: Hunt a Brachydios. I actually ended up psyching myself out really bad. I did some research and knew that I'd need a Water element weapon. As a Striker SA main, my weapon of choice was the Mizutsune SA. I was also using the Low Rank Daimyo Hermitaur armor set, since that set had the highest defense available for me at the time. I also had a talisman that gave me a bit more health. Anyways, the quest took place on Moga Island from 3U, so I didn't have to worry about any environmental factors. As I said, I psyched myself out pretty badly, thinking it would be the most difficult monster I had yet faced. Turns out , I way overestimated how difficult the fight would be. I went into the quest, expecting to get carted at least twice, and take almost the entirety of the 50 minute timer. What ended up happening, was that I took almost no damage at all, and I was carving Brachydios within 15 minutes, on my first time ever facing it. I didn't even use a frikkin' potion, it was so easy. Since then, I've never psyched myself out like that ever again. Instead, I'll just try the quest, and if I fail, so be it. I'll just try again later. I am proud to say that with the full, maxed out Storge armor set, and the Mundus Regius SA, on top of all the decorations and stats, I can now solo High Rank Nakarkos in about 20-25 minutes. Even Chameleos takes longer.

I was unceremoniously hooked into MH3U by my best friend from high school, borrowing his copy on the 3DS while he played on the WiiU. One of the first monsters we hunted together was Brachydios, and man even at High rank he was tough. Eventually, I bought my own copy on the 3DS, and we'd get together during the summer in '15 to hunt and grind and just git gud. Despite getting better with the dual blades, I just kept getting destroyed by Brachy, so my friend told me to actually pay attention to his moves and attacks. This personal study went on for about a month until I was utterly obsessed with Brachydios. By the end of it, I had all of his weapons carved out and maxed, and yes that's a LOT of palliums. I even made a dedicated armor set designed to deal with Brachydios either solo or multiplayer. Come MH4U, and new moves from Brachy meant I had a little more to learn, and by the time MHGU came around there have been so many battles against G-Rank Brachydios and his Raging variant where I don't take any damage (although I have documented proof of some really awkward KOs against him). Since 3U, I've picked up more weapons than just dual blades, but that same old obsession with Brachydios and his weapons never ends (which sucks since I only maxed out the dual blades after 500+ hours).
I started with world and after 350 something hours I decided to get into mhgu. I was amazed by every new monster I saw but Brachydios especially because of his unique design! Love at first sight

My favorite memory was hunting Raging Brachydios with my hunting partner in MH4U. It took us many tries, but once we got it down, it was insane to see how we could consistently win against the monster that used to wipe us out within minutes. (I'd also like to add my friend was using a full Iodrome set, and my bow build had more defense than his blademaster one.)
Back in 4U Brachy was the only monster that caused some lag problem to me. I still remember how it stopped mid-jump and then teletransport to the other side of the map. They were confusing times

Do not forget about the fabulous jojo x monster hunter collaboration in MH3U. wich gives you a healing hammer to support your teamates. (After hunting a brachydios) This monster is one of my favorites with Seregios.
Brachydios is the 1st one I really struggle with in 3u. I remember it really took a while before I could figure out how to complete the hunt. Now that you mentioned that brachy was reworked in 4 makes sense to me now. I remember not struggling as much in 4 or generations ultimate. I need to go back and finish monster hunter stories
I enjoy getting a lucky shot at a brachy as it flies through the air at you, and you knock it to the ground. Especially with aerial IG, it just becomes a game of aerial chicken at that point
I absolutely LOVE Brachy, just yesterday I was hunting him in 3 Ultimate! I really love the the feeling of a boxing match you get when hunting, it feels like you hit and get hit back like a true fight, and every so often he leaves an area or retreats to make more slime, making it feel like there will be a bell and a "round two" coming up since I stop and sharpen my weapon etc at these moments haha LOVE IT! Also, I'm stories; we have to admit, Brachy is the original One Punch! Haha

The kelbi bow.... aka the god slayer. If you awaken it you can wield a fraction of kelbidromes true power.
They replaced it with blast so more monsters could take advantage of it. Wouldn't make sense if teostra was giving you slime blight
Back when Blast element wasn't nerfed into the ground, yeah. My Lightbreak GS was able to actually use slime / blast effectively!
I really think brachy is going to be in Iceborne. He is a blue barroth skeleton.

definitely the monster my opinion has changed the most of.
I went from being neutral, to liking him, to disliking him, to hating him, to thinking he's okay, to thinking he's good, to thinking he's fantastic.
MH3U was the first Monster Hunter game I convinced my friends to buy after showing them several hunts in MH:Tri. We were a ragtag band of hunters. One person used a switch axe, one greatsword, one dual blade and one lance. We always managed to power our way through hunts after several attempts wih no real attempts at teamwork or strategy. That changed when we first met Brachy. I swear it took us a good 20 hours just to beat the dual Brachy fight. We sat down after a couple hours and all decided to swap up weapons and armor to give it another shot. Hearing that sweet, sweet victory fanfare after managing to down the second Brachy with less than five minutes remaining cemented the monster Hunter series in all of our favorite series. Over 900 Hours later and we still get together regularly and play MH:World and occasionally MH4U. We all hope and pray that Brachy and Zinogre get added with Icebourne but I guess only time will tell. Keep up the amazing work, your videos always warrant a get together to play some Monster Hunter and listen to our sensei. Happy hunting!
Brachydios was my wall too! I began my Monster Hunter career in 4 Ultimate and started with the Longsword because I love Japanese style katana as well as the precision and style of the weapon. All was good and well until Brachy pounded me into oblivion relentlessly. I was like "Okay, I really need to get more defensive!" I found your channel, did my research, honed my skills & Guard Points and now I am a Charge Blade main! Thanks so much much for all of your hard work over the years! I am a much better Hunter all because of you!

Brachydios was truly the endgame for me in MH3U. My hunting squad is only 3 people including me, so surviving and dealing enough damage with 3 out of 4 hunters to kill the Clashing Fists Brachydios took an entire semester's worth of weekends hanging out with my hunting squad to try and take it down enough times to get the Majestic Scepter. Beating that quest has always been an accomplishment I look back on as a testament to me and my team's skill.
I've always seen good ol Brachy in the 3 cover and trailers and knew I had to fight him so when I got to play mh4u during a hurricane I finally made it to him and my lord he cemmented himself as one of my fav. fights. Having to farm him in Generations in low rank for more weapons was a drag but fighting him was worth it each time as his style of fighting is just so pleasing to see in a monster.
This video reminded me I’ve been a fan of the franchise for six years and I’ve been subscribed here for quite a long time as well! I really hope Brachydios comes back he’s my favorite fight of all monsters and his SnS was always my favorite! Thank you for this awesome video as well!

My absolute favorite monster (besides Astalos). I kinda consider it as my mentor because it helped me getting better at the game (I'm still kinda bad though lol). MH3U was also my first MH game and Brachy was the biggest wall I had to overcome in the series. I must have lost like 50 times before finally winning. Beating it for the first time was one of my most satisfying moments in any game. And when I did the Sticky Situation urgent quest, I was pretty scared at first and lost a few times, but it went surprisingly way better than my first time against it, which made me feel proud. In a way, defeating Brachydios was the very first time I had ever felt proud of myself. That's part of why I love it so much. Aside from that, Brachy's just an absolutely fantastic monster overall, unique fighting style, awesome design and incredible battle theme.
So yeah, I love Brachydios. 😅
My favorite monster still to this day is Lagiacrus, as I started with Tri. But, when I fist encountered Brachydios, he was such a joy to fight that he also holds a special place in my heart as one the most “edge of your seat” type fights.
Brachydios: The monster that made me have an emotional sense of respect and awe for a ficticious and virtual creature. My favorite monster in the entire series due to the hunt, music, and the use of its environments working so well together!
The difficulty of the fight only made it more interesting, especially as a Hammer user. It felt like a mutual fight due to the blunt archetypes of both the Hammer and the Brachydios being very similar to each other. Dodging around each other in an explosive flurry of rage and precision is still fresh in my mind!
Brachydios would be a perfect monster for Monster Hunter: World. Truly a spectacle and would provide an amazing challenge. When it would sometimes invade quests, it would even rival the Deviljho in its scale of power.
My favorite thing about Brachydios is his theme, it gets you really amped when you hear it.
Sticky Situation quest MH3U was my favorite!! So many great memories chasing Brach Mantles. One of my favorite monsters by far. I hope he is in iceborne. Great vid!!!

I remember your videos showed up in my searches some time after that. I remember your first videos had no talking, just subtitles, but when you started talking I loved it because you were so calm and good at conveying the concepts you were trying to get across. My favorite memory of Brachy is when I first beat his Raging Variant. God the sense of sheer accomplishment still gets me on a natural high.

My fondest memory with Brachy was all the hours spent trying to find that last Brachydios gem, that I needed to fully upgrade my slime dual blades!
Brachy was such a trip in 3U. My friends and I struggled to get the G-rank armorsets and weapons, but they were ALWAYS fun to use. And stylish! It was a little annoying how Brachy would sometimes cross the room suddenly with little telegraphing, but it became worth it in 4U when suddenly there was an opportunity to interrupt it mid-air. I would love to see the Brach return in Iceborne, it's an important flagship.
Brachy is definitely one of my favorite monsters. Has one of my favorite fights and my favorite looking weapons.
As someone who's only played World and some of Tri back in the day, I really like this series of vids cause I get to learn about the monsters I see so many people asking for in World. Keep it up!

Brachy is one of my favorite fights in 4u, ESPECIALLY raging brachy. Raging makes me so nervous as a switchaxe user, and its so fun.
All of Brachs weapon designs were some of the coolest in their respective games. Not to mention really good to boot with blast. I remembering farming for hours just to get a mantle, good times.

I farmed him so much in MH3U it became easy to dodge almost every attack, like his long jump was easy to dodge if you rolled right at him when he jumped. My favorite monster ever.
You and i were having a talk about this over twitter but brachy was the monster that started my love for lance and it was such a cool design being someone who has a bit of boxing skills myself seeing a monster that kinda emulates that was super cool

Love this monster so much. Got carted twice on my first hunt and was about to leave quest thinking that this guy was just too out of my league... but I thought about how much info I got from the monster during the first 2 carts and said, "No, I got this." Took its ass down and it's been one of my top 5 faves ever since. Its one of the reasons I really got hooked on this series.
Brachy's colorful design and amalgamation of ideas always appealed to me. It's a monster with a really cool name, really cool concept, and really cool execution. It's one of the best monsters in the series, I think.
These videos are awesome! Only thing I think you could add is maybe some info on the sounds design for the monsters! Most monsters have some really cool origin stories for their roars and growls, would make for good content. Keep up the good work!
Brachydios is easily my favorite monster. M4U was my first MH game and I literally bought it because the Brachy Charge Blade in ads looked so damn cool.
This was so fun to watch and learn more about the monsters in this universe! I'm excited and hopeful that you're able to do more monsters, and looking forward to the next ones.
My favorite memory in relation to Brachydios is from Generations. I was almost done with the 6* village quests, and just needed to do one last quest: Hunt a Brachydios.
I actually ended up psyching myself out really bad. I did some research and knew that I'd need a Water element weapon. As a Striker SA main, my weapon of choice was the Mizutsune SA. I was also using the Low Rank Daimyo Hermitaur armor set, since that set had the highest defense available for me at the time. I also had a talisman that gave me a bit more health.
Anyways, the quest took place on Moga Island from 3U, so I didn't have to worry about any environmental factors.
As I said, I psyched myself out pretty badly, thinking it would be the most difficult monster I had yet faced. Turns out , I way overestimated how difficult the fight would be. I went into the quest, expecting to get carted at least twice, and take almost the entirety of the 50 minute timer. What ended up happening, was that I took almost no damage at all, and I was carving Brachydios within 15 minutes, on my first time ever facing it. I didn't even use a frikkin' potion, it was so easy.
Since then, I've never psyched myself out like that ever again. Instead, I'll just try the quest, and if I fail, so be it. I'll just try again later.
I am proud to say that with the full, maxed out Storge armor set, and the Mundus Regius SA, on top of all the decorations and stats, I can now solo High Rank Nakarkos in about 20-25 minutes. Even Chameleos takes longer.
This guy's the one who got me into Monster Hunter in the first place back in 3U. I can't believe he's coming over to World now!

I was unceremoniously hooked into MH3U by my best friend from high school, borrowing his copy on the 3DS while he played on the WiiU. One of the first monsters we hunted together was Brachydios, and man even at High rank he was tough. Eventually, I bought my own copy on the 3DS, and we'd get together during the summer in '15 to hunt and grind and just git gud. Despite getting better with the dual blades, I just kept getting destroyed by Brachy, so my friend told me to actually pay attention to his moves and attacks. This personal study went on for about a month until I was utterly obsessed with Brachydios. By the end of it, I had all of his weapons carved out and maxed, and yes that's a LOT of palliums. I even made a dedicated armor set designed to deal with Brachydios either solo or multiplayer. Come MH4U, and new moves from Brachy meant I had a little more to learn, and by the time MHGU came around there have been so many battles against G-Rank Brachydios and his Raging variant where I don't take any damage (although I have documented proof of some really awkward KOs against him). Since 3U, I've picked up more weapons than just dual blades, but that same old obsession with Brachydios and his weapons never ends (which sucks since I only maxed out the dual blades after 500+ hours).
I loved the raging Brachyadios switch axe it looks so good. Such a fun monster to farm.
I started with world and after 350 something hours I decided to get into mhgu. I was amazed by every new monster I saw but Brachydios especially because of his unique design! Love at first sight

My favorite memory was hunting Raging Brachydios with my hunting partner in MH4U. It took us many tries, but once we got it down, it was insane to see how we could consistently win against the monster that used to wipe us out within minutes.
(I'd also like to add my friend was using a full Iodrome set, and my bow build had more defense than his blademaster one.)
Back in 4U Brachy was the only monster that caused some lag problem to me. I still remember how it stopped mid-jump and then teletransport to the other side of the map. They were confusing times

Brachydios is the 1st one I really struggle with in 3u. I remember it really took a while before I could figure out how to complete the hunt.
Now that you mentioned that brachy was reworked in 4 makes sense to me now. I remember not struggling as much in 4 or generations ultimate.

I enjoy getting a lucky shot at a brachy as it flies through the air at you, and you knock it to the ground. Especially with aerial IG, it just becomes a game of aerial chicken at that point

I really love the the feeling of a boxing match you get when hunting, it feels like you hit and get hit back like a true fight, and every so often he leaves an area or retreats to make more slime, making it feel like there will be a bell and a "round two" coming up since I stop and sharpen my weapon etc at these moments haha LOVE IT!
Also, I'm stories; we have to admit, Brachy is the original One Punch! Haha
