Very interesting discusion . I love this Trailer. I'm buying one just now. I will use a beautiful Tamiya Scania 620 blue with it. The forum idea in the video is very good. You can use 5 timber trunks replacing the poles. But appears a critical doubt: The increased weight would a problem to the system Trailer- semitruck? The Trailer is really very nice. You can find it on the North and South american roads
Technically it is still pulled by the 5th wheel via the pipes when loaded, the drawbar is telescopic and changes length while its steering the rear bogie. When unloaded the drawbar is pinned in the short position and the pivoting action is also pinned so its a regular drawbar trailer. Only reason I mention it is a lot of people miss this and have the drawbar locked fighting against the pole load.
Appreciate the input Nick! Actually I’m happy you said something. You are definitely right as once it’s fully loaded the load itself is pretty much the 5th wheel. I may have over simplified my explanation just because of how this has to be attached to the semi. It’s the most unique trailer build that Tamiya makes as it’s not going to be as simple as backing up to a trailer and connecting using the automatic legs. This trailer requires manual attachment to the semi so it’s probably one you’re more likely to have fun with different loads then switching trailers. When empty, it’s definitely being pulled by the drawbar as you mentioned. So I guess that’s the other unique aspect of this trailer.
Nice unboxing, I musta missed this one. Actually a lot more to this kit than it seems.
Thanks Thomas! Yeah, it's surprising just how many parts are in this one!
Great unboxing Freddy. This is a very interesting model. I comment more detailed, when I had seen your other videos about it.😉
Thank you RC Birds!!
