5MT 73096 at the Great Dorset Steam Fair 24/08/2018

73096 may be out of service, but that doesn't mean it's of no use, as proven by its featuring at the Great Dorset Steam Fair.
In terms of railway locomotives, the Great Dorset Steam Fair is an ideal event to turn money over on out of service locomotives; providing dead weight for haulage around the 'Heavy Haulage Arena', while also bringing in bounds of publicity.
This year, the Mid-Hants Railway 'Watercress Line' were to supply BR Standard Class 5MT 73096 for the event, while the locomotive waits for its turn in the overhaul queue. With 2018 also marking the 50th Anniversary running of the Great Dorset Steam Fair.

New cylinder block was cast, I believe. Though happy to be corrected.
