What I find completely amazing is how you can find time to not only take great images, but film yourself and even use a Drone - at the same time! I'm usually in too much of a panic to get the image to even breathe, let alone film. Keep up the good work.
I like your book. Congratulations. I've purchased one for myself and it's on my laptop, iPad, and iPhone. And I've gifted copies to two photographer friends. Your work is getting more widely known. Yes. I'm a big fan.
Someone on another of your videos commented that you are a great story teller, well, let me tell you, they're spot on! I've learnt so much off your videos and that's because you tell it as a story, you make it really easy to follow. You're such an inspiration, every time I watch a video all I want to do is pick up my camera and set off somewhere. Keep up the exceptional work you're doing Thomas, I for one think it's brilliant...
Thomas, thank you for focusing on smaller more simple compositions. It helps, because not all of us can travel to some grand vistas, and it is a challenge to find the best composition. I have watched many of your videos. Being outdoors is the greatest feeling!
I tend to stick close to home too, great to see how you pulled something out of nothing! Also like the drone shots you put in from time to time, really adds to your videos.
I loved this episode Tom. It’s great to go on those big adventures, but it’s also good to discover what images can be captured close to home. I'm planning a local beach trip myself soon. The inclusion of the drone footage is a great addition. It was again fasinating to see your approach to editing your image, thank you for sharing!
Greatly enjoy your videos. You bring a real human element to the process. Some people are far too clinical, but you bring your own love for what you do, to the videos. It inspires me to keep having fun. I especially like how you talk about searching out the right shot - angles, light, framing etc. Thank you
I love how you put the camera settings and filter info into the video that way. That's often very helpful for novice photographers like me. I think it would be great if you could do that in other videos too!
Photoshop is another tool in the creation of what we do. My eye did go to the sunrise reflection on the water and the detail was lost. A typical challenge with this type of capture. I like the options available to correct it in Photoshop. Thanks for sharing your passion.
I came across your calendar video and subscribed after watching it. I have been on marathon watching almost all your videos. I must say you are brutal honest in every video and all your videos carry some stuff. Learnt lot of stuff. Thank you for these awesome videos and keep making.
The links are so helpful, I'm so grateful for that if I want to get more information I go straight down below and you are the only one I've seen so far who doin it. It's so helpful. I'm a big fan of your work. Thank you.
Thanks for another good video. It is good to show that it isn't always amazing and epic when out there taking photos. It is interesting to see how different people edit.
Another enjoyable video always look forward to them, grew up in a small village just outside Newcastle but now live in Southern California so I hope you stay local as it always tugs at the heart strings when watching places I know. Anyway North East is a beautiful place to shoot in... many thanks
I live in Québec City in Canada. I discovered your channel about a week ago subscribed after the first video I've watched. I love the quality of your work and I also think your videos are very inspirational. Keep up the good work and thank you!
I've been Subscribed since 5,000 subs. And I must say it is absolutely amazing to see how the quality of your videos has immensely increased over the years! Awesome video Thomas.
You should really consider a hard cover copy of your book. I don't even have to know the contents and I would buy it. Love your work and love seeing your content. Unfortunately, most of your videos are watched from an office chair but they definitely inspire me to get up and get out. Thank you and keep it up.
Brilliant as usual, and interesting to see some post work to. Is also good to see you admitting a mistake and show how to get an image from very little.
Thomas... You are such an insperation.. Your photography is amazing and videos are just spot on. Been following you for a while now and never posted a comment, However, i think its time to say Thank you as you have inspired me to further myself in the same hobbies you enjoy "Landscape, Travel & Outdoor Photography". Thank you and keep posting!!!!!!!!
Another enjoyable vlog. I always check to see if Thomas Heaton has a NEW vlog when i log onto UA-cam, woke up at 6am to find this new one...yipee, i love to watch your escapades.......loved this episode...i live on the NE coast, so home shots are abundant....keep them coming, i can't get enough.
Thanks Tom, I love your videos! I often shoot in the same situation at the beach (with not a lot to work with) and it's a fun exercise. Was curious to see what you'd come up with
Excellent Thomas, I love this kinda thing. Go out take the image then come back and process. Brilliant! A winning formula. Best regards, Allan Davies ...
Thank you. Loved the taking the shot to editing. Your Dronie Images were beautiful. I like seeing where the image has been captured in relation to what's around you.
I like your minimal approach to editing and is exactly what I do. Bump the contrast, exposure, saturation just a bit and not over the top. I was actually hoping to see a vid like this from you
Great videos I bought your book and almost finished with it, and waiting for the delivery of the calendar. You inspire me to push for simpler meaningful photos...Keep it up !
Interesting to see Ben's influences here. After you mentioned him I digged his work. He's an amazing photographer and I could learn alot from his way of doing things. So much good content! And you did some great drony shots here, Thomas!
you deserve more fans on youtube. every of your videos are masterpiece. you're a good teller and and amazing photographer. keep up with the good work :)
like your simplicity in the videos. Your stories do not just focus on photography but also the journey you take to scout the location and travel. keep up great work. for this image I would love to move little back and take landscape using 70-200 maybe at 85 mm or so. that will make the boat little bigger compared to the rock.
Great work again Thomas! Your video work is progressing on par with your photography. Keep up the fantastic videos and I am still hoping that one day I can come and meet you for a small collaboration project!
greetings from Canada came across your site looking for some tips on landscape photography was wondering where you were on this video as it looks like st marys lighthouse and the white dome of the Spanish city behind you i spent a lot of time cruising the oneway system in my younger years
You're my favourite photographer and youtuber. Thanks a lot for all that beautiful minutes the inspiration and motivation. On of my dream is that I want to photograph like you, because I like your style of photographing. Thanks😉
A nice trip out on the coast with nobody there, bliss! Heading out for the Perseid shower tonight and bought your ebook to read while the gear does its thing. Having watched your Astro vid for a few tips. Not long been using my Dslr and while only a D3300 and a kit lens, looking forward to it. Great vids and top content. Thanks Thomas for some brilliant inspiration.
Been watching your vids for a few days now Thomas. Loving them and your tips/advice/knowledge etc. just been over and bought your book after reading the free preview. Im hooked lol. Im seriously getting into landscape photography and aerial vid and photos. Just saving for a drone and borrowed a DSLR for now.
Hey thomas you did such a great work here. Like everyone else I'm really loving those shots from your drone, keep up the work. And about the photoshop editing, when the pic first came out I could never imagine it was photoshopped, so I guess you just did an amazing job. Love your videos!
Hi Thomas Heaton, I love your vlogs, I've only started taking photos over the past week or so and as a beginner where is the best place to start taking photos, I'm from Ireland so there is plenty of scenery. Any advice would be great.
Those specular highlights on the water could just as easily be removed in LR with the Spot removal tool, picking an appropriate selection and adjusting the opacity to taste. That way you wouldn't have to create an extra file with PS. Just a thought for your consideration.
Any tips for getting sand out if your tripod? I've ruined 2 of mine haha. Looking forward to your reading your book while my camera is shooting timelapses today! Thanks for making it really affordable too.
I've purchased a few things through your affiliate links; I know it isn't much but its the least I can do. I've gotten incredible value out of your channel and I hope to be able to contribute more in the future. Thank you!
Looking back would you have used f22? f16 will give a very nice sunburst with much less chance of diffraction blurring. Unless you needed f22 for the water?
I really love your landscape photography, it's truly inspiring. What would you suggest if I would love to create photos like this but live in a big city? No natural beauty within 50 miles
You could travel on your days off or in the weekend. Book a hotel somewhere close to the landscape you want to photograph and get busy. Or you could try photography in your own city. Plenty of cool images out there of cityscapes and urban photography.
Hi thomas! I m a hobby landscapephotographer, but i never used filters before. Which filter is a MUST? Polarizer and natural density? Thanks for helping me. And keep going with your videos and photos you do a great job! I love your videos:)
I didn't notice that you removed the reflections when I first saw the photo. It'd be hard to notice because I looked at it as a whole and it's difficult to notice without pixel peeping. Nice work!
I like this one and enjoy all your videos - inspiring and educational (for me anyway). I really do look forward to your next one. I purchased the ebook just now, started to read it and noticed a tiny spelling mistake in the introduction - 'fist time' rather than 'first time'. Just thought you might like to know
Beautiful morning image Thomas, enjoyed your processing. I like what you did in PS the highlights of the sun were a tad distracting. So the stamp did well and worked. Atb, Trev
Hello. I have a question about your combo of big stopper + Heliopan Polariser. Has it ever happened to you to get a redish zone (similar to a lens flare, but more like a red rectangle) in the image when you do long exposures during the day?
I absolutely *did not* notice the clone stamping until I saw you actually do it. Like you I'm very careful with using it, but we could probably get away with much more cloning than we think. :)
Well done on your book, its on my list of "must haves" If its half as good as your UA-cam Show then its going to be fab.. I'm pretty sure I noticed a Lighthouse on your local beach... Can you do a sunrise with the sun behind the Light beacon ? That would be amazing !!! Keep up your great work
I like your approach , Im very similar in that Im not a photoshop expert although I would like to know more I just cant bring myself to sit at a computer for hours getting deep into it.
That's very kind, thank you.

In my opinion, I really like the line from the sun reflecting onto the water. Makes it look like an album cover.
CDs under the tripod legs... my word, that's GENIUS!
I love how you put the camera settings and filter info into the video that way. That's often very helpful for novice photographers like me. I think it would be great if you could do that in other videos too!

Glad to be of service. Thank you for watching.
I like your videos, they are always engaging and I particularly enjoy your 'no bs' approach. Inspiring.
Thanks for another good video. It is good to show that it isn't always amazing and epic when out there taking photos. It is interesting to see how different people edit.

I love your channel, you're doing a great work! It's a pleasure to buy your book
I did in fact notice the sun spot initially. I've taken a few photos over water and creeks. And I always look for flares and lines. Love the video!
Thanks for another solid video. Enjoyed seeing your simple workflow:-)! I got the book and it is a nice read. Well Done!!!
Your videos are very informative and has inspired me to work harder at my photographic skills.
You got yourself a drone!!!!! Awesome :) The aerial angles are super cool. Love the vid - all of them, actually, best channel on YT imo.
I like your minimal approach to editing and is exactly what I do. Bump the contrast, exposure, saturation just a bit and not over the top. I was actually hoping to see a vid like this from you
Well done Thomas, Very nicely documented my friend. I love reading the stories behind the photographs.
Great videos I bought your book and almost finished with it, and waiting for the delivery of the calendar. You inspire me to push for simpler meaningful photos...Keep it up !

Actually, I quite liked the image and the bright line to the sun didn't bother me. Nice video. .
yep not sure why he took out the reflections. it drew the eye up to the sun and balanced it. who knows. still pretty great either way
about time you brought out a book. looking forward to reading it . another great video, keep up the good work 👍
greetings from Canada came across your site looking for some tips on landscape photography was wondering where you were on this video as it looks like st marys lighthouse and the white dome of the Spanish city behind you i spent a lot of time cruising the oneway system in my younger years

Your ebook not available in India Amazon store will wait for it. I like your videos very much. Thanks for sharing your experiences
Great video yet again. I loved the editing part of the video. I would love to see that more often. Anyway, quality content. Keep it coming!
your videos calm me down after a bad day
Hi Thomas Heaton, I love your vlogs, I've only started taking photos over the past week or so and as a beginner where is the best place to start taking photos, I'm from Ireland so there is plenty of scenery. Any advice would be great.
Good video and stop beating yourself up about Photoshop your getting better every day, something from nothing is what photography is all about👍
That CD-tripod trick in the sand is positively brilliant. Now I know what to do with all my old Brittany Spears stuff.... ;-)
I never realized your picture was on the "cover" of the Flickr app. Thanks for all the experiences you share.
Love the drone footage! Beautiful! Also nice to see you taking the same approach to LR/PS as me lol
Haha the ending had me laugh out loud! another great video Thomas! also E-Book.
Great video, how do you think a polarizer would have added to or taken away from the image?
Those specular highlights on the water could just as easily be removed in LR with the Spot removal tool, picking an appropriate selection and adjusting the opacity to taste. That way you wouldn't have to create an extra file with PS. Just a thought for your consideration.
Awesome videos and work, keep it coming.
Any tips for getting sand out if your tripod? I've ruined 2 of mine haha. Looking forward to your reading your book while my camera is shooting timelapses today! Thanks for making it really affordable too.
Great video, thought, composition... 👍
Great informative video as usual. Good luck with the TV show!
Another great video. Really enjoying them

I like your new style Thomas, less is more 👍
thanks to share camera setting (F, ISO, ETC) Its help newbie like me, hope next video you still share the camera setting..

I was about to suggest CDs under the tripod feet and you did it!!
Hold everything, there's a video to watch!

Did you ever try to use alternatives to Lightroom for RAW editing? I find Capture One does a really great job with color profiles and saturation.
Really enjoying your videos! Thanks!!
great video! did not notice the missing sun reflection.
I like your approach , Im very similar in that Im not a photoshop expert although I would like to know more I just cant bring myself to sit at a computer for hours getting deep into it.
