This is a game changer. I've actually put in several requests for BM to implement something like this directly into Resolve. Glad someone else thought this would be useful and made a plugin for it.
I'd hate to be that guy but DaVinci Resolve's Fairlight, already has a similar option. When in the Fairlight page: - Just click on the Grid options on the left side just above the timeline - Under Time-Scale click on the note - Choose the correct start of the song and its tempo Fairlight will generate a grid for your specific settings and you can also make the grid snappable. (yes, that's a word now, deal with it) Hope this helps someone who's short on budget.
True but for now the grid is only visible in Fairlight which can be an issue for people wanting to work in the Edit page, plus I feel like this plugin has some cool features like the color coded markers. But yeah that's an alternative
@@georgekamenov_ True, it's visible only in the Fairlight page, however if someone wants to move around their video tracks in the Fairlight page, they can enable them by clicking on the Timeline View Options (located next to the Grid option) and then selecting Video Tracks. My handle is perpetualstudio and this gets used all the time in After Effects to edit game montages. It would be cool to have for DVR as well since I find myself using it more and more for composite work.
As a content creator, I think this plugin can be very useful, especially as a beatmaker, because this can help so much with cuts and extending certain parts of the song , and not having to go back and do it within the DAW, and in spicing up transitions on the beat easily and quickly, as well as converting long form content, where the loop method can be done correctly, in terms of using certain sections for UA-cam shorts. Definitely a game changer when it comes to one's workflow and time. Thank you George for this video!
As someone who does more audio than video, I think this company should make a VST/AU plugin for all DAWs. Right now, Melodyne is the only option for mapping beats within an audio clip and it is seriously antiquated. This looks much better. There's a whole other market outside DaVinci for them.
As a skate channel that constantly edits to the beat of the music, this sounds so promising! The metronome generation is so wild - didn't expect that to be a feature of this. Thanks for shining a light on this plugin!
This plugin looks like an absolute game changer. The monotony of going through so many cuts manually based off the normal audio wave of a song eventually causes mistakes which only prolongs the eternity it already takes to do in the first place. Now you gotta adjust half of it because one was off somewhere in the middle. I'll definitely be grabbing this plugin whenever I have a spare $50. I don't have a FB or Instagram account to take part in the giveaway, unfortunately. Edit: I'm just realizing that I'm having this problem because of subtle tempo changes/imperfections in the timings of songs - I have that "quantize" checkbox baked into my methods... I really need this plugin.
Yeah, this plugin can definitely be a huge help with all of what you mentioned. And don't worry, if you end up being picked as a winner we'll find a way to get in touch 🙂
It's kind of crazy that in the early 2000s, programs like Sony Vegas had an option to set grid to bpm when editing video. And I was shocked that more professional software like Premiere and Resolve didn't have this. Made editing to the beat hell. My strategy with Pr and Re was to just hit add marker keyboard shortcut to the beat while listening to the song. But even with good rhythm, this was never super precise and usually required going back and fixing marker positions.
Davinci Resolve already has set grid to BPM in the fairlight page. Sony Vegas has had it for longer because it used to be a DAW (audio editing) before and then they became a video editing software. And as for DAWs, setting up grids by using BPM is nothing new, all DAWs have it.
I'm stepping into the world of music videography and events after movies, and one of the things that have been discouraging me and slowing me down is the fact that editing to the beat is so time-consuming and draining. This will make editing to the beat faster and more pleasant, saving me so much time! I feel lucky to come across this video with all the noise out there. Thank you so much for it! Liked and subbed
Hey, I love this Plugin, especially for my channel because I put lot of emphasis on Music but Can you please make a Unlisted Tutorial on how to Download it, Extract it.... I'm sure it will help other people too, Loved the Video
The entire process is honestly pretty straight forward. After you download it there's a PDF explaining exactly how to install it for each operating system. Don't really think it's something that needs a video made about it
@@thisnamesucks you have to create one inside the path where it needs to be, had this issue with some FX i downloaded, and for some reason resolve dont create all folders automatically
Interesting little plugin. As a creator of music videos / cinematic short montages this would definitely help me to speed up my workflow. I especially like that it marks the sub-notes of the beat in different colors. It happens a lot when I have to stretch or shorten the track and it is always a painful process to find the exact places where the beat ends. This gives a lot of opportunity to mix-match the songs to your shots. However, in the Fairlight page Resolve has already a similar feature called beat grid. It might be not that intuitive though, but that is there out of the box.
Honestly, as a game content creator, I could see this as a really useful tool to help make some boring parts of a video feel more dynamic by adding nicely timed cuts. Would / Could be a game changer. Good over view.
Thought about getting one years ago and somehow forgot about it. Now as I'm switching to DaVinci it's great you featured it here. This will definitely safe time on almost all the projects I'm working on. Personally I'm somewhat allergic to out of sync cuts. As a travel and wedding movie maker cutting to the beat is my bread and butter, therefore you're not over exaggerating claiming this will safe tons of hours down the road. Hope your channel will do great, this is a great video. Well edited, straight to the point and easy to follow your calm voice. Keep it up!
I work in commercial production but only shoot video to capture family moments. Although I enjoy editing, it's a huge time suck on spending time with the family and kids. My edits would mostly be footage montage cut together to music in a 3-4min video that my kid can see when he grows up and hopefully remember the memories. This plugin would be a huge time saver for people like me who use it to save a ton of time on family videos so they can spend more time with the actual family. Great plugin.
OMG this would save me so much time. I'm a filmmaker and musician, I spend hours making music videos for us and other bands. This would really help with the music of bands I'm not familiar with as sometimes in a mix it can be hard to pick out the snare or cymbal hits. This is what I've been looking for. Great video, thank you.

love this plugin. I am an editor with years of experience and this is my most common critique -- can you edit to the beat. I'm so unmusical I always overthink this and never end up on beat. awesome.
One Solution for the keyframe&beat is to find the bpm (plenty of free websites available to do this) and adjust your frames per second to a number that better fits. The math is somewhat intuitive, I don't have a formula. But I know that a song at 118bpm will run into problems by at least from 30 seconds when the beat in the minute is 59. An odd number means a freshness power second cannot be an even number like 24 or 60. I've found that a sting at 118bpm works well with timeline set to 59bpm even though I know 59 pet minute and 118 per second are two different measurements. Im no math wiz but it's worked every time ive tried. Also works to tempos in different audio tracks
This is fantastic. I’ve recently transitioned to resolve and I’ve been searching for any and very amazing plugin/templates that can help me adapt faster!
If you don't wanna pay you can also google the BPM of a song then throw that metronome temp track down. Same idea, slightly more work, might have to adjust it here and there, but its free.
Hey George. Solid video man. I just downloaded the trial and it works really well. This is a great way to make songs longer. I really wish Resolve had a eaay way of extending songs like Audition or even Premiere does. This helps fix that problem. Thanks man.

But with this plugin can save several hours⏳BTW like yr idea to make song long and short CUZ I've been in this situation😥 before song beats are more then clips or clips are more than beats ! soo yah really appreciate that☺
Very useful! I wish DaVinci had a grid option with a bpm/tempo feature just like any music software would so you can snap your video cuts to tempo. Coming from a audio background, this would make A LOT more sense and simpler for everyone waiting editing video on beat just like you would when making music.
Seems like this could massively help out more novice editors and in a world of shorter attention grabbing content formats or could just help content flow better. Thanks for the heads up
In my opinion, this plugin should help to tons of people edit faster… my editing is basically must have thing to edit to the beat and in some songs it is really hard to find the perfect beat to cut a video. I’ll be really happy when I win because it will save some of my money which I can use for some project and it can definitely save my time during editing 🙏 thanks, your videos are really helpful
Nice plugin and thorough presentation. I'd use this plugin to finally avoid jarring cuts in my audio tracks. I do have, sadly, a total lack of musical ear.
Well done! I made custom resolve scripts to do that kind of workflow from REAPER tempo map from where my song came from, but I can definitely see how this can be useful for regular video music video editing! I like the subtitles way IMHO cause subtitles tracks stays on top. Cheers! 🎵
Hi thanks for the great video! I instantly subscribed after watching your resolve editing tips because I was too stunned about the usefulness of those. This was the second video I watched and to be honest I have been looking for such a game changer tool 🔧 which will literally save me hours. My current workflow involves first of all to duplicate the audio track and to mute the upper (original one). Then I try to isolate the main beat of the music track within the EQ (which provides it's own problems (sometimes it's difficult to hear what you should isolate if there is a lot of disruption form other instruments or vocals coming in). After that I jump into the Fairlight page and activate transient detection. Then I need to select the clip and set a marker at every single transient because the transients don't show up in the edit page by themselves. And finally in the end (after ending the mute on the OG track and muting the one with the marks I can start editing. But I need to do the entire procedure for every single music track again (manually) and worst of it all DaVinci Resolve really does slow 🐌 down at a sertain ridiculous number of markers in one timeline or even project. So in conclusion I would really appreciate the plug in as it would help me focus more of the time, which is now still being spent on all the steps above, on creating even more amazing videos and films 🎥 🎞. Thank you very much for your support in advance. Kind regards Willi Instagram: equilibrius_insta
Sounds like you've got your workflow down without the plugin, but I'm curious why you don't just listen to the track and tap out the beat with the marker shortcut? I'm just a hobbyist, so I'm sure there are some really good technical reasons you are doing it this way.
@@TheFlyFishingFilmmaker Yes to get an exact timing on ervery single beat its better doing it that way instead of maually. Also you sometimes get marks on other features of a tune which creates some fun cut points from toime to time. The Plugin would lighten my workload a lot as the described process beeing very tidious.

I think this plugin is what I've been craving for way too long already. Since before I even got serious editing for a living, editing on the beat and flow of the music has been the base of every edit I've ever made, so this is definitely a game changer. Thanks for letting me know the existence of this plugin!
We edit to the beat of music all the time, this would be a huge benefit for us. I wouldn't be surprised though if this is built into Resolve in the next version...we have to wait for NAB to find out though.
That's nice! Thanks for the info and presentation. I definitely want to check this app out for my videos. Honestly did not know something like this existed, I've winged it pretty well. Mostly
Hi George, love the videos, been binging them for a few days now and definitely feel that your videos are of really high value and they have transformed my editing workflow. I recently picked up a copy of Davinci Resolve and i have to say its pretty amazing (coming from 3+ years of working in Adobe). A lot of my work is heavily dependant on syncing music with video clips for montages and cool b-roll sequences. I feel that i would greatly benefit from the BeatEdit Plugin however I feel if i don't learn how to do it sync music to video manually to a good standard first, i will just use the BeatEdit as a crutch and never actually do it myself. If you wish to consider me either way i would really appreciate it but i really think others may benfit from it more. This comment is really just an appreciation of your work and the influence you have made over my editing ability. Thanks for everything George, Jason.
Thanks for the in depth comment and kind words man! And yeah I get what you're saying about learning how to do stuff manually first but I don't think this plugin would be a crutch necessarily. Like anything else it's a tool to help the creative process and I think it can have it's place right there next to doing things by hand occasionally as well. One doesn't eliminate the other 😁 The winners will be drawn randomly so if you end up being picked you'll get a chance to test out if what I'm saying is right or not 😅
Wooow thanks for pointing that plugin out! I was looking for some ways to make edits faster, and if it's working well it definitely worth the $49!! And BTW I discovered your channel thanks to that video so double win for me :D Thanks George!

Wow! Thanks a lot for the review! I‘m pretty new to video editing in general and film D.J. sets of a friend. After getting into log footage and a bit of color grading, this would be the next big step as it is pretty much necessary to cut the video on beat. Kind regards, j0_sh_111

Glad you liked the video! As far as music licensing platforms, you can find links to the ones I use most often in the Linktree in the description. I trust and like all of them a lot plus, if you're on a budget, UpBeat gives you 10 free downloads per month that you can use in your videos with credits in the description so it's a good option.
Great vid and plugin! Would be a great tool for my workflow! I can see how it could help me edit faster even if beats are not a secret for me. Ive been playing drums for more then 25years and it definitly help when editing on music!! For next update would be great to have a similar option as sync to wave in Davinci. Even if I didn't win the coupon...it bears mentioning how awesome a tool this is for ANYONE looking to step up their video game.
I've been searching a ton for this kind of plugin haahha. I've been marking the beats manually for so long. All my videos are song-synched.... ah man. /subbed!

Cheers! 🎵
Thanks for reviewing this product looks like exactly what I was looking for.
That is so useful! I primarily make hype videos for my college so this would save me HOURS!
omg I been looking for this for along time... thank you
Hi thanks for the great video!
Kind regards
Willi

Sounds like you've got your workflow down without the plugin, but I'm curious why you don't just listen to the track and tap out the beat with the marker shortcut? I'm just a hobbyist, so I'm sure there are some really good technical reasons you are doing it this way.
@@TheFlyFishingFilmmaker Yes to get an exact timing on ervery single beat its better doing it that way instead of maually. Also you sometimes get marks on other features of a tune which creates some fun cut points from toime to time. The Plugin would lighten my workload a lot as the described process beeing very tidious.
DANG!!!!! I dont know what to say! It just seems so COOL AND AWESOME MAN!
Editing to beat as we know can be a struggle sometimes, this Plugin seems to be making the job much faster and easier, I'm so happy that someone has invented this amazing tool!
This plugin would help me a lot in my video editing experience and make workflow MUCH BETTER!
I'd appreciate very much, if I get this tool! Cheers man! Thanks for letting us know about this amazing tool bro and making these videos! Really helps!
Sound really interesting. I'll give it a try. Thanks for that video.
Thanks for the heads up on this plugin and the tutorial. Cheers.
This was super useful. Thanks for sharing, and keep it up!
these plugin videos are super helpful.. also I use the blade tool all the time... would love to know how you edited
Amazing plugin, normaly I use transient detection but this make whole process nicer....want that plug
That's nice! Thanks for the info and presentation. I definitely want to check this app out for my videos. Honestly did not know something like this existed, I've winged it pretty well. Mostly
What a lifesaver! You got a new subscriber. More powers to your channel!
Thanks for everything George,
Jason.
One doesn't eliminate the other 😁 The winners will be drawn randomly so if you end up being picked you'll get a chance to test out if what I'm saying is right or not 😅
@@georgekamenov_ Thanks for the reply George! If i win i will definitely give it a try, and if not i may even consider buying it myself
Excellent information on all the new tech, thanks for the videos!!
Wooow thanks for pointing that plugin out! I was looking for some ways to make edits faster, and if it's working well it definitely worth the $49!! And BTW I discovered your channel thanks to that video so double win for me :D Thanks George!
This plug in looks amazing. As someone who has traditionally entered markers on the Audio Track. Beat Edit would be a game changing time saver. I’m in and so stoked to know about this plug in. I would love to win but will buy it regardless. Great video btw :)
Unfortunately the giveaway is over at this point but thank you for commenting regardless 🙂
FANTASTIC channel…. Thanks so much . 10/10
reactor plugin to have wav file as modifyer input is good as well
this is very useful tools & information. Thank you.
This is pretty interesting , this would really save some time for someone who does a lot of beat sync and client work
Aescripts noted limitation is that this plugin does not work with Davinci Resolve downloaded from the Mac app store.
amazing peace of software for demo reel editing
Amazing. Thank you so much!!!!! It's absolutely wonderful man.
plugin loooks awesome definately use it
This plugin sounds great and i appreciate the tips in other videos before! I'm an aspiring Filmmaker as well and use a lot of cutting to beats so please make a new video or update if you get more free uses of this plugin😁🙏
Wow! Thanks a lot for the review! I‘m pretty new to video editing in general and film D.J. sets of a friend. After getting into log footage and a bit of color grading, this would be the next big step as it is pretty much necessary to cut the video on beat.
Kind regards,

Cool. Thanks for sharing!
Such a great tool! Will try it.
This is so useful, thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Hi! Great plugin. Is it compatible with the free version of Davinci Resolve?
Oh man. This looks like a huge time saver 🤯
Dope man ,thanks for sharing
Good video… definitely will try this
You won't belive it bro! I just imagined some software like this & this video popped up in my feed! LOL! It can solve many complicated edits in mins!
This is pretty cool, would definitely help a lot with lining up things to music. I always struggle with that 😂Might have to look into implementing this into my work flow.
Great tip thanks🙏🙏
Hmm, that's really interesting. Thanks for video!
MAGIC! Thanks!
Super cool plugin!
Thank u a lot for sharing this!
Would be helpful if it allowed for shifting markers to align with transients.
Hey George, love the tips and tricks! Where do you go for your copywrite-free music?
For an automatic sync clips on beats, with different presets.
Thx for that great review!
Hey, first of all graat video and definitely a banger of a tool for anyone that will benefit from it. As a pro dj preparing for life on UA-cam, this would be so cool as part of my presentation to new and learning DJs. This would expedite my delivery of content by aiding syncing music to the edits of the videos dramatically. Even if I didn't win the coupon...it bears mentioning how awesome a tool this is for ANYONE looking to step up their video game.
Def trying this plugin out. Its easier to to use adobe audition remix songs.
this is verry usefull
I've been searching a ton for this kind of plugin haahha. I've been marking the beats manually for so long. All my videos are song-synched.... ah man. /subbed!
This is great! I gotta try it
oh yeah, its @max.lemesh )
Just knew it they got Davinci version. IMO, this plugin is good for editing travel video
great video and great plugin. ciao from Italy
This is awesome. Definitely saves a ton of time!
Definitely can, yeah 😁
Very nice video thank you for this share!
nice i could fully switch now
Oh my... I've struggled so many times to cut the clips to the beat of the music to make the movie look more dynamic. I had no idea such tools existed. Cool, but for home needs (I only create family video for private use) it's a bit too expensive. Oh, now it will be even harder for me knowing that such toys exist 🤨
This should be standart in every videoeditor
