It’s actually a pro tip to prioritize HSL Curves over Qualifiers 👍🏾
😭That vectorscope trick is incredible! Thank you for the tip. 🙂
Happy to hear that it helped 🙂
I am new to color grading so thank you for sharing this , it really helped me
Glad it was helpful!
Dude thank you for explaining why my stabilization would randomly stop working! That was driving me crazy lol
Yeah, it's messed with my head a bunch of times and I had to dive into some forum posts to find what was going on. Glad I could help!
Thank you, this was very useful :)
Still learning Davinci so watched this video randomly while eating. Definitely learned at least something new, keep it up man, as I see through the comments you were able to help more than one. Thanks!
Very happy to hear I was able to help!
whoa man, you know your stuff, im picking up valuable things here! nice!
Never understood why I was loosing stabilization after color grading. First time I hear about this tip. Thanks!
Glad it helped!
Outstanding!! Super-useful tips. Thanks!
Excellent tips. I wasn't even aware of the drop down menu on the color page where you choose "Color" so as to prevent affecting other adjustments like stabilization in your shots. Good work.
Thank you, glad you found these helpful! And yeah, that drop down menu is super niche but to anyone who's run into this super odd issue before it can prevent so much frustration 😅
Yeah it didn't even dawn on me that this is something that could be fixed. So useful!
Nice tips and tricks, thanks for sharing!
Thank you! Very useful tips👍👍👍 gonna try it now

Thank you so much for sharing bro!
very useful bro. thanks
Thanks man!
It really helps. thank you 🙏🏻
That final tip was clutch!! Thanks man!!
These are amazing! Keep ‘em coming! I’m binging your videos. Thanks!
Excellence as usual, happy I subscribed. A suggestion if I may. Instead of losing information by desaturating shadows and highlights. Use log wheels in combination with a low range to move in the opposite direction of the unwanted hue. This way you maintain color information and/or get a desired hue.
Also a good option. I tend to use that mostly when there's a lot I need to protect in terms of information. But if it's already blown out highlights or crushed shadows this way is just way less effort for essentially the same result 🙂
@@georgekamenov_ the more I learn the more I realize there are multiple ways to approach a project. I try to lean toward simplicity as much as I can. Thank you for your tuts.
@@jkdrake1 glad you're finding them useful 😊
You’ve got a good style. Easy to follow. Keep them coming.
Yo I love the last tip!! Thank you bro 🙌🏽
Thanks, Joshua! 🎉 I'm following already some excellent DaVinci UA-camrs but you are a real discovery for me!
The video didn't feel chaotic to watch- thanks for the tips- much appreciated.
Glad to hear that, it felt chaotic when I was recording it though 😂 Happy you found it useful
@@georgekamenov_ Yeah, you said that. That's why I thought I'd give you the feedback. #relatable
Really appreciate more of this
This was SO Good👍👍

Dude! Great tips! Thanks a lot!
Glad you found them helpful!
cool tips, subbed :)
Спасибо. Полезные советы
This was helpful man!
Happy to hear that!
Awesome! Thanks for the video! So you know how to make the video pause when you move the playhead? This is annoying for someone coming from premiere.
If you grab the playhead while the video is playing and move it it will keep playing from the spot where you dropped it. Just make sure that when you're dragging the playhead the video isn't already playing.
Great! Can you tell what Color management you use with phantom luts?
Standard DaVinci YRGB because I believe that's what the creator of the LUTs has recommended in the instructional pdf that comes with them 😅
HI! Great video. Awesome tips. How do I get this Neutral LUTs? Thanks
You can search for PhantomLUTs. Then just pick up the ones that are made for whatever brand of cameras you're using
my mistake is having grainy dark/night footage would definitely kill my mood to color the footages.. it would make the grain noticeable.. so make sure you guys shoot without any grain (add more lighting)
Great vid, but I was hoping to become 81.5% better!
Unfortunately this is the best I can offer at this time hahahaha
@@georgekamenov_ thanks bro. Love your vids. Made a huge change to my colouring.
What does each node in your "preset" does? I'm new to color grading, i know how to color manage and what each button/slider does but I don't know what an optimal node tree would be. Like should it be exposure -> white balance -> look -> cst or something else?
Node trees can vary a lot project to project, usually my trees look something like WB - Exposure - CST/Conversion LUT - Look and anything else I need after. Sometimes I'll have Noise Reduction before all of those and occasionally if I'm using Grain and Halation those will be at the start as well.
@George Kamenov can you please answer just one more question? Why is your cst in the middle/ before look and not last?
Hey. Any suggestions on color grading/ correction techniques for H 264 downloaded/ compressed footage? There is obviously not as a big choice to play with compared to raw, but would be good to hear from you.
Well, in those cases less is more. Don't try to push it too much with the grades. The tip with using the HSL curves is pretty useful here as well. Pretty tough to work around compressed footage unfortunately 😅
@@georgekamenov_ thank you. Will try.
The pros definitely don’t qualify first, it’ll destroy their image. Even if they’re Grading 12-Bit footage. They go by the rule of starting broad to narrow.
Fair enough. Maybe I've just come across color grading videos that happen to be outliers where they prefer qualifiers first 😅
@@georgekamenov_ before you use qualifiers, make sure you create your contrast. This will help when you key. Overall still great videos. I definitely subbed 🙏🏽
First
Lol I've never got to say that b4
Also as someone who is just starting learning Davinci Resolve, your tips are really helpful!
