Who were these idiotic investors who thought building a huge commercial center in the middle of rural farmland was a good idea? It never ceases to amaze me how stupid people can accumulate wealth.
They do this in China on a massive scale..entire cities that nobody lives in as investment scams...
Other than trying to get enough water and a large enough septic system for the waste, this would be an awesome place to start a camper community, the campers would be under roof so they would pretty much have an infinite lifespan.

It is amazing how even today it still sits abandoned...I would turn into a indoor RC race track or maybe air soft training grounds...but it's very remote. Hell there's enough room to build out all kinds of things...indoor shooting range, the biggest train set museum ever...go cart race track, homing pigeon training center, largest cat rescue center...lol
