I will finally be making the long awaited Brachycephalic hamster video, should be out this week. Brachy basically is a disability for hamsters with the shape of their skull. Check out my other brachycephalic videos of the past to see more about the disability and what these special need hamsters look like. 🐹 - Sorry for any confusion.
Hey, I'm new here, and I hate to bother you in the comments of your video, but I can't figure out any other way. In the beginning of this video you mentioned the cage size, I've been thinking about getting two Russian Dwarf hamsters, I was looking at a low flat cage that has a square inch surface of the floor is 617.5, would that be a good minimum size? I plan on having multiple chews and two wheels, as well as two food bowls, since that is what I've been reading was recommended, but I would like your advice if you're willing, thank you in advance!
@@nyxnightshade8422 It's not recommended to keep any hamster with another hamster even if they are litter mates and even if they are dwarfs. In the wild, all hamsters are solitary animals. So it is unnatural and stressful for them to live in pairs. Even if they get along in the beginning, as they mature, they will be territorial and could fight leading to horrible injuries and even death. It's just not worth taking a chance. My suggestion would be to just get one hamster.
I'm new to Syrian hamsters. How do I know if my hamster is brachycephalic or not? Her snout (?) looks normal, but I'm not entirely sure because she's my first. Just in case, I did my research, she has a huge enclosure, has a healthy variety of appropriate food, and she gets lots of enrichment as well as a large 11 in wheel. Just worried she might be brachy, but I'm not sure 😭
@@nyxnightshade8422 square footage is okay, just remember that it is recommended to have AT LEAST 6 inches of bedding although 12 is preferable. Make sure to add lots of hides and cork bark, the floor of the enclosure needs to be practically covered with stuff for them to run around and climb on. instead of food bowls i would recommend spreading their food across the enclosure so that they have to forage for it, this adds additional enrichment and gives them a more natural feeding style to what they would do in the wild, although you can use the bowls for treats like fresh fruits and veggies. also, hamsters are solitary animals if you want two, they need to be in separate enclosers and not be in contact with each other.

indeed, my very first hamster was the complete opposite of this. unstoppable screaming on first day, screaming on second day, biting on the third. I had to wear thick snow gloves just to approach her without having my fingers absolutely destroyed, and pet her with a q-tip. But I managed to get her completely comfortable with me after 2 months straight. It was worth it. The best fierce little ball of floof ever
@@Brookea-l1m Abusing animals is a very easy road to abusing children and maybe even adult humans in general but usally it's children because the reason people do it is because they are in a position of power. And animal abusers usually "upgrade" to hurting people eventually/
This can be true, but in actuality violence towards animals is only a red flag when it is persistent and severe. I don't mean to diminish what this hamster went through-- it was terrible absolutely, but the kind of violence that is a preface to future abuse is stuff like decapitating the family cat. Children sadly, especially very young ones often don't understand pain or death in others. That's why they do things like pulling apart worms and spiders. I could easily see how a child could think "oh, I don't like how that looks so I'll just cut it off." Regardless its a good example of why hamsters shouldn't be pets for young children without adult supervision.
@@lilacbombs_5197 true but it’s often difficult to monitor. Especially if the child is targeting wild animals or doing it at times they know they won’t get caught. It’s better safe than sorry. Plus some kids learn how to inflict harm that is hard to notice (like hitting or flicking so there’s no mark)
God this is why hamsters are not for kids!!! That is so messed up, and I am so glad she is safe in your hands. Thank you for all you do and I hope you're doing well Munchie. Sending lots of love to you and her
I do not completely agree with you because I am not so sure that a kid did that consider the clean cut and the cut hairs. For a child is it hard to get a clean cut like that and it’s harder to get a sharp enough knife.
@@mxwolfje , if it was caused by a person it was likely done with scissors. They wouldn’t have to be that sharp to cut through the tail and I’m sure a child would be able to do it whether it was intentional or not. It is speculation at this point and I hope she is wrong in believing that it was done deliberately but I worked in vet clinics for 20 years and a child with a regular pair of scissors would be able to chop off the tail and leave a clean incision as was seen.
To be fair, most kids wouldn’t purposely hurt an animal like that. This kind of intentional abuse is kind of beyond just kids being irresponsible and is something only children that will become violent criminals later in life tend to do. It’s a major red flag, not typical children’s play.
Oh no, poor baby! She’s in amazing hands now, and I am 100% sure she is sooo grateful that you rescued her from that home. I don’t know what could have brought someone to chop off her tail. You do amazing work Munchie, thank you for saving these beautiful animals! 💖
My guess is that the kid tried giving her a haircut and got her tail by accident. This is exactly why parents *need* to watch their kids around animals. I don't believe for a second that this was some freak accident caused by the hamster - there's literally nothing in her enclosure for it to get caught on.
Poor Luz, I don't even want to think about the pain she was in when her tail was cut off. And I have a feeling that the parents knew, but just didn't take her to the vets. Makes me furious!
It makes me more mad that they didn’t even teach their kids about basic decency. Teaching your kids that all animals feel pain, and to be very gentle because they are small should be normal, if they’re too young then just keep them away or disown them lol
My heart sank into my stomach when I saw her tail was cut off. How can people be so cruel? Even when I was a child I could never imagine harming an animal intentionally.
I work at a pet store. It's honestly so challenging mentally when you're trying to guide people in the right direction... people don't care though. Someone once said that their betta was "spoiled" because it lives in a 3 gallon & they bought it an exercise mirror, which are stress inducing devices.
I've told a customer that bettas shouldn't go in bowls and she said she didn't care if it died. This is a terrible mindset. Animals are living, breathing beings. They think and feel. Why would you get a pet knowing you aren't giving it proper care, and then just let it die? It's really aggravating. I love animals but I HATE customers and I HATE the company I work for that just encourages this behavior.
I worked for a month in a pet store, i couldn't stand it. I would give people a full lesson on what cage their hamster or gerbils needed, what to feed them, sometimes i would spend half an hour and they were listening to me... until they saw the prices or the size of the actual cage. Then, half of the time, they were like "it's just for my kid, i won't spend 150€" and get a 30€ tiny plastic cage and the lowest food you could find. It made me so angry and sad i decided to quit :(
Don't think I could work in a pet store. Last winter, I had a couple of cats turn up on our 3 season porch. I built a makeshift shelter by taping a couple of large cardboard boxes together and folded the flaps back on one side to make a "door." I cut up an emergency space blanket to line them and got a pet safe heating pad for the bottom. Then, the entire thing was lined and covered with blankets. Got heated dishes and essentially helped them to survive the winter. I would have taken them in if it weren't for the pair of incumbent cats I already had. Took them to the vet, got them vaccinated, etc in preparation for finding homes for them. When one hobbled out with a degloved tail (sustained the night before, somehow) I brought them both in (of course after getting the injured one to the vet) and kept them in a spare room. Well eventually a woman and 2 little girls started to canvas the neighborhood looking for them. The woman claimed "ownership" but clearly wasn't so much as keeping them fed, let alone letting them into the house or taking to the vet. (The town had a population of 158 and a single vet, unless you drove two hours to the closest shelter.) I was so angry. And I felt even worse for the two girls, whose mother couldn't afford to take care of 2 cats but also couldn't say "no" to her kids.
Yeah, I have a literal snail I bought for 5 euros. This coin sized fucker got a 30 euro hygrometer, 30x30x30 cm exoterra, and tomorrow I am going shopping for high quality veggies with good nutritional content and bought them supplemental snail food. Like, for a 5 euro animal, I've definitely spent 10 times the amount I got them for on housing and food, but if I'm gonna be caring for it, might as well do it properly
@@ChachaluoI would probably have been fired for screaming at customers, if that had been me. I just can’t believe how selfish and callous people can be. Maybe forego some little luxury this week/month, and ensure an animal doesn’t spend its entire life inside a tiny cell, people! 😤
i have no words... WTF!!?🤬🤬i thought it couldn’t get any worse by the literal shoebox of an enclosure, NO WHEEL, and NO FOOD in sight..... thank god shes in good hands now
she looks like such a sweet hamster, despite everything. I wish her the best- her life can only get better from here! and I wish you the best too munchie- it takes a special kinda person to be able to push through seeing really horrific stuff in order to do good. I'm also dealing with some rough medical stuff so I totally get it- I wish you as many good days as possible. 💗
Your such an Angel Munchie (& your volunteers). It's horrific what that hamster has been through. I'm sure she feels safe now. Hope she gets better soon & the vet doesn't find anything. She's so pretty. Bless her. 🐹❤
My heart utterly broke to realize what was done to her. 💔 This world is full of too many shitheads who see these tiny creatures as just 'things' to be toyed with and discarded. 😥 She is for sure lucky that you saw her and rescued her. I have two mousey babies and will be giving them extra hugs and kisses after this one. Thank you for all you do for these precious creatures. 💙
I have a rescued Chinese hamster who was being kept with another hamster in a tiny cage by her previous owners, and her tail was bitten off by the other hamster. I’ve had her for a year and she’s 100% healed now of course, but mostly tailless. Chinese hamsters rely a lot on their tails for balance (they are semi-prehensile) so she falls over while grooming sometimes but is otherwise okay
it's incredible how friendly she was in spite of literally having her TAIL CHOPPED OFF. I would be biting every person that came near me. munchie my birthday is in a couple weeks and I'm going to have some friends donate to your rescue for my birthday.
The poor baby. Thank you so much for rescuing her. Hamsters are one of the most neglected animals. They deserve so much better. Thank you to YOU and everyone who provides their hammies with an appropriate home.
I'm so surprised at how calm she is, especially when you're touching the area around the scab - I imagine it would've been *excruciating*, even now that it's scabbed over. They should be reported for animal abuse IMO. Also, unrelated question - in an older video (the one where you rescued two dwarfs from offerup), you mentioned that you'd be doing a review on the Pawhut hexagonal enclosure. Just wanted to ask if that's still going ahead?
@@raftyfins I get that, but I also find it hard to believe that the parents wouldn't have noticed something unless they were *absolutely* ignoring this poor hamster. There would've been blood *everywhere* - even if the kid did their best to clean it up, the wound would've still been bleeding like crazy. It's definitely worth speaking to the owners and reporting IMO.
@@raftyfins I called animal control about a woman rehoming rats with SDAV which can be fatal to anyone's mischief who would take them. The whole situation came about because the teenage son didn't want to get food for his snake and their teenage daughter wanted a pet so they decided to get her a male and female rat and breed them. Typical dumbass sh*t. Well....what happened is they did ZERO research and when it came time to feed the snake the daughter took the entire little of babies and released them into the backyard. Well, they didn't separate the males from females by 5 weeks so 2 quickly became 60+ and they had gotten all the babies that were released outside back but one. The rats were sick and she disclosed it at first and then started omitting the fact the rats had SDAV from potential buyers. Even a couple local ratteries were going to help her out until they found out the rats were sick and needed to be euthanized. Well, I ended up getting pulled into the situation and was given her information like address and name etc. I started making calls to animal control and I contacted 3 or 4 in her area and every single animal control said that law enforcement needed to be called so I contacted law enforcement and the officer said she knew that address, it was a rental that didn't allow pets and she was going to check into it and keep her from rehoming or selling sick animals since it wasn't legal. Apparently the gal threw a huge fit over whoever called law enforcement but they took care of it. This is a clear case of animal abuse and law enforcement would more than likely have a chat with the people who chopped this poor little hamsters tail off. 😢
My heart stopped when you said that her tail was cut off…. Some people don’t deserve animals and kids sometimes and most of the time don’t because some don’t know what their doing…. She is so lucky to have you
I appreciate the TW. My best friend is a little Russian dwarf hamster who's at the end of his life and I'm just giving him the best I can in his final days. I watch almost all of your videos, but didn't think I could handle watching it, given what's going on and my emotional state right now. I decided to read the comments instead and feel like I made the right decision in not watching this one. I really just wanted to say you do amazing work and not enough people appreciate and understand these beautiful little creatures. To too many people, they're disposable and seen as more of a toy than a pet. Thank you for all you do and for all those sweet little beings you've saved and given better lives to.
It warmed my broken heart when the little hammy came over to you when you were crying. Poor sweetheart was checking on YOU to make sure that YOU we're okay 😂❤️😢
This absolutely disgusts me. I cannot believe someone would let their pet go through this pain, and not want to deal with them, so they just sell them? And this hamster seemed so sweet too! I hope she is better! Thank you Munchie for giving her the help that she needs.
A pet shop near me called "we love pets" does an amazing job at keeping their enclosures animal friendly vs "buyer" friendly. It wasn't always like that but within the past 3 years they have really upped their game on knowledge and care. I'm always super impressed with their willingness to do better and educate others.
She is so calm and gentle for a lil baby that has been through so much omg! You're entire page has inspired me to follow suit and now I rescue hamsters I can only have 7 at a time but I love what you do and you have taught me so much!
This is so horrible. I feel so bad for this poor hamster. I know you probably get this a lot but I just want to tell you how much you mean to the hamster community and how much you help. I cannot imagine the pain she has been put through. She is in safe hands now❤️❤️
What a sweet, sweet girl! I was tearing up at this. I feel so sad for the trauma and pain she has been through, and to still be so sweet. If parents are going to let their children have pets, they need to teach children the proper care of animals and supervise the children's interaction with the pets. What ever kid did this, they need to get this kid into therapy immediately. This is a huge red flag when children intentionally hurt animals. Telling sign of a serial killer in the making. I'm being totally serious. Her snout does look on the shorter side to me. Will be looking forward to hearing how the vet visit went. So glad she is safe now!!! Thank you for all you do.
Poor baby, I hope she's fine & well! Can't believe someone, even a child, that would cut off an animal's tail. That's not a good sign in children, just hope if one of those kids did do it that they get help so don't end up hurting other animals or even humans down the line.
I can't believe anyone would do that to an animal, I'm absolutely heart broken. I don't want to Judge that family but you need to watch your young kids when around small animals.
I agree with rynn21 BUT there are exceptions just because child is young doesn’t mean that they arnt mature enough for that animal. My daughter is 7 and has her own UA-cam channel to educate children on hamsters hoping since she’s a child that at least 1 other child would learn from her. She knows more proper care about hamsters than most grown adults so again it depends on the child
Not just small animals. You should always watch your kids, so they don't hurt themselves, other kids, humans or animals big and small. Kids don't have fully developed brains and motor functions. They may come up with ideas, adults will think insane (most kids will cut off a doll's hair and fully expect it to regrow at least once). Don't get me started on object permanence and lack of empathy (as in inability to see things from a different point of view). And even if they don't hurt anything intentionally or unintentionally with their weird plans, they can still hurt others simply because they aren't always as gentle as they mean to be. I can't count the times where animals were hurt by kids, because the parents were inattentive and the parents always blame the pet or kid. Eyes gauged by a pencil, bites after hits and "haircuts"... So many nicks. I'm willing to bet a child cut it off, maybe because it was dirty or something. I had a worse thought: It may have been a parent trying to clear the area around the anus, like some do with dogs.
@@JuMiKu when I was younger my parents let me get a bunch of dwarf hamsters and keep them in those critter trail domes with all the tubing. I liked to put them in their ball and toss them around until they died. My parents didn’t tell me they died though, so I had no idea. I thought it was a toy, and like you said, had no empathy or capacity to think that it had feelings too and experienced pain. I can totally see a kid without supervision doing something like playing veterinarian and cutting it clean off.
That poor baby 🥺 thank you for looking after her. That cage was the cage I had for my first hamster way back in the day 😞 . I hope she’s ok. People are just horrible.
god, ever since i saw the first post about Luz on insta my heart keeps breaking for her and seeing her again and seeing how sweet she's just breaks my heart even more; i wanted to write more but i can't put my thoughts into words in a nice and acceptable way so i'm just gonna say i wish Luz went to a much better home from the start... thank you for saving her and for letting her experience what a good home actually is like - you're amazing Munchie ♥
I really hope everyone appreciates how, no matter how bad she feels physically and mentally, Munchie is always here for the babies. So glad you found that little one, Munchie. ❤️❤️
They don't even have much of a tail and yet...she's a brave fighter, a little rhino. This poor little thing can be so happy having you now. Munchie, chapeau!
I would contact the family and alert them that the police will be called. Animal abuse is serious, I would press charges on them. That is utterly disgusting. Shame on that terrible family . Teach your damn child to respect living beings.
I hope we get an update on her condition in general, know her healing status and if anything is wrong with her back. The poor thing, but at least now she's in a safe place and won't be near those asshats anymore. I wish I had the money to send in a few things for them all
I have multiple chronic illnesses and have been developing new symptoms too. It can so difficult and frustrating when you think you’ve figured out what’s wrong and something new comes up. I wish you all the best💗 I hope your new symptoms improve or you can figure out how to manage them. Don’t feel like you need to force yourself to upload, we’ll all be here waiting for you💞
What a brave little gal she is, I can’t imagine how much pain she’s lived through and she’s still so sweet to you. Wishing her and all your other rescues the best, you’re an angel to these little guys💕
omfg please keep us updated with what the vet says... How can someone chop off her tail !! omfg. my hearts breaking for her, i'm glad she's in your care now.
This is so incredibly sad, and I am so eternally thankful that you were here to save her. Maybe one of the kids tried to give the hamster a 'hair cut' and....did something terrible by accident? What a poor dear!
My heart is breaking for this poor girl, I feel physically ill right now. She is still such a sweetheart after all she's been through. I just hope she'll be having the best life she deserves from now on.
It sounds like one of the children cut the the tail (that shows psychopathy and the parents need to get that checked out) and the parents panicked and got rid of her asap. It's a miracle she landed in your hands. So glad she got a second chance, so many abused animals die in the hands of their tormentors.
Oh my God! I had a whole other message typed out and then you showed her lack of tail. Oh sweet hammy! My heart breaks for her. I hope she finds a loving home.
What an absolute sweetheart that she is so calm, loving, and easy to handle; considering what a horrible, violent trauma she endured. I hope that you reported this to the animal abuse people in the area. Maybe the person did it, becasue they are young and don't know any better; but it is also possible that they did it, becasue they are abusing animals and need to be reported. This shouldn't just be forgotten.
That’s really so heart breaking about the tail, poor thing. With how recent it must have been I’m guessing the parents must have taken care of her until the wound had scabbed over before rehoming her. I’m glad they made the decision to remove her from the home right after this, though the lack of transparency about what happened is suspicious, I expect it’s out of embarrassment though. Speculation aside, the good thing is now she’s safe and being taken care of and getting the medical attention she needs.
She is such a sweet girl despite everything. Shes going to flourish in better conditions. Cases like these make me despise the world as a fellow small pet rescuer
My heart goes out to the poor baby. Im so angry at what happened to her and I just hope that they don't have pets anymore because one of them doesn't deserve them. Despite all of that abuse she's an angel, she truly deserves better
that poor hamster. she’s absolutely adorable and i can’t imagine how much pain she has experience. how could someone hurt her like that??? as someone who’s a hamster momma who has a large enclosure and cares so much about these adorable creatures, this hurts my soul oh my goodness.
OMG!! This poor baby!! I’ve got 3 boys. 2 of which have adhd (and one of those have Asperger’s), but I can with 100% certainty say NONE would EVER cut a body part off an animal. Ever! Thang God she’s with you now! ❤️❤️ Hugs from another chronic pain mom. ❤️
Munchie's back!!! Thank goodness for you and your rescue! This makes me want to throw my laptop honestly... people need to take care of animals! This poor girl. She’s so sweet and that’s so surprising. I hope she finds a perfect permanent home!! I can’t believe someone would do that to a hamster.
This is a sweet notion but to be brutally honest, the police do not care. They aren't going to arrest or even fine someone because they _might have_ hurt a hamster. We don't even have any hard evidence that it was intentional; "it looks like it" isn't solid evidence. When was the last time you heard news of somebody getting into legal trouble for mistreatment of hamsters? (not including hoarding) Besides, this was likely an incident caused by a very young child being left unsupervised with an animal.
@@somebvnny you’re right. Legally, there’s nothing technically illegal going on. The animal had food, water, and shelter. That’s all they care about. Not in my state, but in some states, you can legally chain up dogs as long as their tether is atleast 2 feet long, and they have food, water, and shelter. Even if it’s incredibly abusive for the animal’s welfare, all the care about is if the household is doing the bare minimum for said animal. My neighbor chains her american staffie up whenever she goes out of town. The dog is incredibly sweet, doesn’t bark, friendly to everyone, and doesn’t deserve to be out there for weeks at a time. She’s been reported multiple times for it but there’s nothing they can do, as technically, the dog is indoors when she’s home, and all of the state requirements are being met. Even if the dog’s quality of life is terrible.
@@somebvnny the main way legal action can take place is if there’s hard proof of strong animal abuse (animal being beaten recorded, animal not being fed for weeks recorded, animal being left alone for weeks recorded, etc) and hoarding/breeding situations

She probably has some neurological damage from her tail being cut off like that, maybe that's why she's walking funny?
100% agreed! Small kids should never be left unsupervised with any animal, but especially with small animal that they can easily injure or kill. I have seen so many horror stories about hamsters getting killed by kids and it's usually said in a joking manner by people who mostly see hamsters as disposable toy pets for kids. It's heart breaking.

@@mxwolfje She said there were multiple kids there. For all we know it could have been the older kids as well. But we don't so you can't rule if out.
To be fair, most kids wouldn’t purposely hurt an animal like that. This kind of intentional abuse is kind of beyond just kids being irresponsible and is something only children that will become violent criminals later in life tend to do. It’s a major red flag, not typical children’s play.
Look, a child doesnt equal bad care. I know a child who keeps her hamster in a 1000+ sq inch cage and has 10+ inches of bedding.
I want to vomit!!!
My heart sank into my stomach when I saw her tail was cut off. How can people be so cruel? Even when I was a child I could never imagine harming an animal intentionally.
She’s still so sweet and curious even with her trauma. Poor baby
(The town had a population of 158 and a single vet, unless you drove two hours to the closest shelter.)
I was so angry.
Bless her. 🐹❤
She seems like such a sweetheart. I’m so sorry she had to go through that but I know she’s in excellent hands now
My heart utterly broke to realize what was done to her.
Considering how much trauma shes been through, she's an utter angel like you munchie! Hope the vet trip goes well ;w;
it's incredible how friendly she was in spite of literally having her TAIL CHOPPED OFF. I would be biting every person that came near me. munchie my birthday is in a couple weeks and I'm going to have some friends donate to your rescue for my birthday.
Your comment made my heart sing! What a lovely, kind soul you are asking your friends to do this for your birthday ! 😍.Hope you had a wonderful day 💓
The poor baby. Thank you so much for rescuing her. Hamsters are one of the most neglected animals. They deserve so much better. Thank you to YOU and everyone who provides their hammies with an appropriate home.
the fact that she still seems so trusting towards you after what she has been through :( that poor baby
Some people shouldn’t have animals.
It’s so heartbreaking how evil humans can be towards innocent, precious little creatures.
It warmed my broken heart when the little hammy came over to you when you were crying. Poor sweetheart was checking on YOU to make sure that YOU we're okay 😂❤️😢
She is so nice for going thru all she’s gone thru. That poor thing.
She’s way too sweet to go through all that trauma I’m so glad you saved her!:)
This is so horrible. I feel so bad for this poor hamster. I know you probably get this a lot but I just want to tell you how much you mean to the hamster community and how much you help. I cannot imagine the pain she has been put through. She is in safe hands now❤️❤️
She was so gentle trying to eat the bandaid! Also her just running around exploring while we’ll all crying about her tail is amazing
She's such a laid back hamster for what a traumatic experience she must have had! Glad she's in better hands now.
Luz deserved better.. RIP.
This is so sad. Thank you for saving her and giving her a better life.
My heart is shattered for this poor hammy… Rescues like yours is the only thing giving me hope for mistreated hamsters
I literally started crying when you showed us her "tail". Some people are so cruel..
You're doing such a great job rescuing this little sweathearts 🥺
@@lexy10985 you should be proud! She sounds like a mature young lady, you are teaching her right
@@Skewer-rat awwww thank you!!
People are just horrible.
poor baby :< she is so sweet, when she kept trying to wander off it was so adorable
god, ever since i saw the first post about Luz on insta my heart keeps breaking for her and seeing her again and seeing how sweet she's just breaks my heart even more; i wanted to write more but i can't put my thoughts into words in a nice and acceptable way so i'm just gonna say i wish Luz went to a much better home from the start...
thank you for saving her and for letting her experience what a good home actually is like - you're amazing Munchie ♥
Poor baby.... It's a blessing that the hamster met you. I really appreciate you 😊 🙏
This poor baby :( She’s the sweetest little ham too.
I wish I had the money to send in a few things for them all
awe poor girl i cant imagine how much pain she was in im glad shes in your hands now
Poor baby! I know she’ll get better in your loving care
And! Munchie!!! It’s amazing how much you care. Bless you and your volunteers!
I love you for what you do and I really look up to you for the care you show small animals. Keep going you go girl!
So glad she got a second chance, so many abused animals die in the hands of their tormentors.
what a strong & sweet little lady. i’m so glad y’all were able to save her..
Oh my God! I had a whole other message typed out and then you showed her lack of tail. Oh sweet hammy! My heart breaks for her. I hope she finds a loving home.
poor baby, i cannot believe someone could do this to this precious hamster, i’m so glad that she is now in good hands.
Poor baby...I'm so happy you have her now! 🥺
she seems like such a sweetheart. im so sorry for what she has been though.
Despite all of that abuse she's an angel, she truly deserves better
that poor hamster. she’s absolutely adorable and i can’t imagine how much pain she has experience. how could someone hurt her like that??? as someone who’s a hamster momma who has a large enclosure and cares so much about these adorable creatures, this hurts my soul oh my goodness.
watching these videos help me feel so much better that the hamsters are getting the proper care they deserve now

This makes me want to cry. People are so incredibly cruel.
There's not many that I wish Munchie would adopt herself but this is a very special little hammy and seems so well paired with her!
How is she so sweet when she's been through so much poor baby.
Don't be shy, call the police on them. Animal abuse isn't something to take lightly.
I agree
This is a sweet notion but to be brutally honest, the police do not care. They aren't going to arrest or even fine someone because they _might have_ hurt a hamster. We don't even have any hard evidence that it was intentional; "it looks like it" isn't solid evidence. When was the last time you heard news of somebody getting into legal trouble for mistreatment of hamsters? (not including hoarding)
Besides, this was likely an incident caused by a very young child being left unsupervised with an animal.
I really hope your medical issues improve soon ❤ thankyou for saving this sweet girl
Welcome back, Munchie! ❤
you're such a kind hearted person, thank you for that
I so hope you ended up contacting that family about this… The parents deserve to know
Munchie you're doing a fantastic job. I am horrified thinking this little girls tail was chopped off... She would have been in unbelievable excruciating pain.. so glad she's with you now.
Take care of you too 💞💞😍
Oh my god... This literally made me cry. abuse. Straight up abuse. That poor thing!!! I hope everything goes well at the vet. Thank god for your rescue. I mean-- imagine what could have happened if you didn't rescue her. As someone who owns hamsters while being at a younger age... it's not that hard to get a bin cage. Also-- just the fact that this hamster's tail was chopped off-- I have no words. I seriously want to throw my laptop knowing these people did such a horrible thing. She probably has some neurological damage from her tail being cut off like that, maybe that's why she's walking funny?
What in the absolute..... jesus christ, kids are the worst. Young children should not be allowed to be around animals unsupervised, hands down.
It's heart breaking.
thank you so much for the valuable work you and your team do. you are truly amazing 🙏
She is calm considering what she has been through. Hope the vet can sort this out.
Her snout does look short and omg that POOR BABY! I'm so sorry Munchie. I hate this so much! Do you think it's possible something happened to her tail and the vet had to amputated it and the family didn't take care of it?
I’ve not heard about brachy hamsters before. I lost my little hammy in December due to irregular heartbeat. Which got me wondering is that a possible symptom of a brachy hamster?
Sending hugs to Luz, she’s such a cutie 🤎
I just wanna say that i am so thankful for what you're doing ❤️ You're dealing with personal issues and still rescuing these hamsters, very impressive! Keep up the good work 😊
So heart breaking! Glad she's in your care
this is so horrible :( thank you for saving her.
