Ah..God rest the soul of Nicky Hopkins. I saw him in Joe's band when they toured Oz and NZ in 77/78, at Festival Hall in Brisbane. What an awful, echo-filled barn of a place that was! For me, Nicky's precise and ultra-melodic playing that night was one of the main inspirations for me to seek out piano lessons years after the event. I may never be Nicky Hopkins, but I'll also never die wondering.
I'm just trying to imagine these three guys sitting together in heaven, having a blast just like in the old days. R.I.P. Nicky Hopkins (1944-1994), Bobby Keys (1943-2014) and Joe Cocker (1944-2014) - they don't make musicians like these any more. (Btw just noticed that Bobby passed only 3 weeks before Joe).
It is from a two disc DVD called Nightmoves: an Australian late 70s early 80's TV show. The interviews were from a tour two years before the one filmed in Melbourne (without Bobby Keys and the great keyboardist, Nicky Hopkins.)

Wow
Who played lead guitar on that tour?
What a mad dog Joe was! Love the guy!
Glad Joe was able to return up where he belongs! ❤️

Hi, any chance of knowing where this footage came from?
