To each there own 8 years ago I laughed at my friends heading out at 4am to go sit in the woods waiting for deer now 2022 I've got the first week of Shotgun season off to get as much time in the woods as I can the thrill of the hunt getting some quiet time or spending time with my friends doin somthing we enjoy and venison isn't my most favorite but done rite I enjoy it and it's so much better knowing u got it just cause u don't like it doesn't mean I don't
My favorite thing about hunting is just being out in the bush. Sitting in the bush hidden and quite listening to the sounds of nature watching rabbits hop around the snow, a doe and her fawns walking past hearing wolves howl is just peaceful
I don’t have wolves but nature is truly beautiful and you’re spot on can’t be described but is such a peaceful feeling even if you don’t shoot anything it’s just peace😊
My dad told me the best hunt he ever went on was the one where he tracked a stag for 2 days through the wilderness of Tasmania, he thought he'd cornered it, was setting up to wait, and he saw it walk over the crest of the next valley. Never got a shot off but the thrill of the hunt was what made it special.
I went to sleeping turkey hunting, and my buddy told me later he had thought about firing a shot to see my reaction. I get in the woods, get comfortable, breeze through the trees, and I’m out. Best naps are outside.
How bout the guy that’s actually there to hunt, doesn’t drink too much, goes to bed early, gets out to the stand before first light, kills a nice deer And generally pisses everyone off
I HAVE actually seen an albino deer. Pops didn't believe me at first, after looking in the direction I was pointing him at his reaction was great. 'Holy shit, an albino deer!'...🤣
I'm not a deer hunter, but I do hunt ducks and pheasants. That means I'm always looking for pheasants when I'm driving around out in the country. Also, I always look up when I hear that tell-tale whistle of ducks flying overhead.
Do gotta say, Albino deer are a real thing. I'm in Northeast PA and there's a pieball doe always hanging out down the road. Not technically "albino" but it's mainly white with some brown spots. Just started seeing a pieball buck coming around this year too.
Albinos have red nose/eyes/hooves and fairly poor eyesight in most cases, If you can get a good look, see if its not a leucistic. they will have normally colored eyes and such. To put it plainly, albinos have a total lack of pigmentation, but leucistics only lack it in their fur, they are just as rare though. Also piebalds* are partially leucistic deer
That one with the head dip is spot on. I always wondered why my Dad did it when he saw a deer, until I got older and then I started doing the same thing.
😂😂FACTS! Even the rock stories…. On our old deer lease I used to hunt on the edge of a huge winter wheat field, out about 200 yards was a rock that I swore was a big dinosaur egg. Needles to say, at the end of the season, that rock came home with me. I Still say it’s a petrified dinosaur egg, I gotta get that thing checked out…. 😂😂😂
@@peabrain6872 😂I know, but a guy can dream can’t he! 👍😂 But I’m telling you, it looks just like, and is the exact shape of what would be about 1/2 of an egg, like it was cracked open, then my portion filled with sediment and over time hardened into the shape left by the half of an egg shell. My rock’s about 8 inches tall w/ around a 20” circumference at the widest part, so it’d be a pretty big “egg” with both halves together. Or, I guess it could be petrified dung too?🤷♂️😂😂😂
Nothing like the feeling of a cool breeze hitting the back of your neck from a fixed position stand So many great memories of empty fields and tree lines
I used to watch an albino deer many years ago when I was about 15 years old. I could have shot it on doe days but I got more satisfaction out of just seeing it.
Yep. A friend of mine saw a white deer once. Neither she or I are hunters and she had no reason to lie. She said it was really cool and it was standing by the edge of the woods in a rural area.
I've napped in the stand a fair amount. And, I admit, I lied and said I saw a ten point but "there were too many trees in the way." I've also gone on and on about a log I saw. Six roots, 'bout six feet long, and the top was mostly covered in moss. The bark was also partially rotted off. I saw a few chipmunks running in and out of the holes in it. I saw a black-capped chickadee sit on a root. He just kinda fluttered in from nowhere. I just gotta say, I love chickadees. He grabbed a few berries from the bush that was right next to it, he made his little chickadee noises for a while, and then he fluttered off.
Very accurate. I hunt a lot and many of these things are spot on. Honestly though this year only had spots on spikes which are illegal to shoot where I hunt.
That whole whisper thing is so true. I play an online hunting simulation video game with my friend and it never fails, the second I spot a deer I'm automatically whispering on the mic to my buddy... Not kidding. It's instinctive and makes me laugh... obviously after the deer leaves or I 'get him down'.... Don't spook him. LOL
Hold on, I’ve actually seen MULTIPLE wild albino deer, not while hunting, but while driving. I live in pennsylvania, 2 were in suburban areas (although i believe 1 was a piebald) but also one in a more rural area. Very cool. It’s like seeing a unicorn
IN OHIO WE HAVE A FEW ALBINO & PIEBALD DEER. I ONLY SAW ONE (A SMALLER BUCK) WHILE ACTUALLY HUNTING LIKE 20 YEARS AGO AND I PASSED ON IT. IT WOULD HAVE FELT LIKE KILLING A UNICORN.
My first weekend ever hunting as a kid I was out with my grandpa and we spotted a young albino, couldn’t have been more than a year old, I was so excited to take the shot but he stopped me and said it was bad luck. Never seen one since but you bet I’ll live by that.
I don't know if other hunters have had this experience but I find that I repeatedly go hunting for one species, e.g., quail, and I can find all the mule deer I want. No kidding, it's like the mule deer (or occasional pronghorn) know I'm not looking for them and just show up to see what I'm up to and to screw with me. Ditto for cottontails. But not one quail to be found or the calls are all hundred of yards away. Then, if I'm lucky enough to get a mule deer tag and I go back to the same spot where I saw all those mule deer, not a one to be found. All kinds of sign that they were there just hours before but not one to be found. But dammit that same trip every quail I could never find is calling from every sage bush.

I'm proof that everyone loves hunting. Trans, left wing, goth. Love hunting, guns and the fall/winter. I live everything in this video. Can't wait to go this year!
Actually no, a lot of people hate hunting. The problem is they always hate it out of ignorance, never when they fully understand it. Cool you're into it tho
Im guilty of buying extra gear I already have. I always try to buy extra stuff just in case at the end of hunting season sales. I have a bunch of extra stuff, which i'll prob never need, but I did give some stuff to my hunter buddies that needed something.
One time I fell asleep out hunting while it was snowing out and woke up to fresh deer tracks in the snow 10 steps in front of me. I think they was checking me out trying to figure out what I was cause the tracks were coming right at me and then cut sharp to the left. There were still deer in the field when I was awake also. Never falling asleep while ground hunting again.
Grandpa's friend took a folding chair down the hill on my grandpa's property and put it next to this monster of a cottonwood tree. Tree is still there to this day. 5-10 ft around in places. The guy fell asleep after 20 mins and woke up to 5 deer in shooting distance. He got a buck within the first hour of sitting. That one wasn't a lie, because he had something to show for it
"Albino deer" lol, my dad sent me a picture of an alive piebald deer by his place. My local gun shop has one in a full body mount too. Rare, but they are out there
There's nothing better than falling asleep in a tree stand and waking up to a deer or two.
So true, my bud fell asleep in a chair and woke up with a doe sniffing the end of his barrel lol! Cheers
Can't do that duck hunting sadly you blink you miss it bring 5 thermoses of coffee if you duck hunt
@That V8 Life te whole point of hunting is to shoot something and control the population not for the food. It’s all about the trophy

The RARE and ELUSIVE Fleet Farm bag. You never know when you will catch a glimpse of one flapping in the wind. So friggin' majestic.
special tag needed to take those down?
My husband could always spot a deer even if he was laying down .Even when he showed me I still couldn't see the deer .LOL !

Could? Did you divorce because stepped out on you with a 12 point?!😂
It's a "primal" move.

We had one in our area a few years ago, several pictures. A lot of us were mad when a guy shot it. He said he wanted to stuff it for his 4 yr old.
