You could leave it in place on all doors except the one you leave and enter through, for example the garage door.

Thanks for the demonstration, a very simple device - simple to install and simple to operate. The only problem I see is with doors that OPEN OUT. This device would probably be of no use with an outward opening door. I live in Florida and code in my area is OUTWARD opening doors (obviously so that hurricanes won't blow your door in and take off your roof.)
When I lived in Manhattan and apartment doors were being KICKED IN by burglars I used this device (when I was already home) and felt secure. When I ventured out into the streets it was a whole new ball game. Good product within its limitations.

That's correct, it wouldn't be useful for a door that opens out. It does have it's limitations (such as you can only "lock it" when you are home) but it works great for its intended purpose.

Should I use a better screw? I just received my 3. I will have one on hardwood. And maybe 2 in concrete. I’m just wondering about the screws. Thanks guys!

You certainly can, and it might be a good idea depending on the surface you are putting them into. The screws worked fine for me (wood floors) but I have heard of people upgrading them to increase security and/or getting different ones that are better for what they are screwing into.
