I especially like the stamps on the hessian. Gave me an idea to make pillows from some heavy hessian a friend gave me. Then stamp over them. Will look lovely on my painted pallet sofa on the balcony. 🥰

Once I did the front I really felt like the backs were a bit bare. It was definitely a work in progress but so fun to do.

I love colour too. It makes you feel happy. I Love what you do. However I am in Sydney and don't have access to the same paints and they are far too expensive to mail to Australia as you would know as you are from here too.
Ahhh I’m so sad about that! I know there are some retailers that do mail internationally but your right it will probably be expensive.

I’m sure you can I have not tried it as this was my first time painting upholstery but if you click the link to Debis videos in the description she has a bunch of videos. Also Jami Ray had used wax to protect painted upholstery. I don’t have her video linked but if you search Jami Ray Vintage you’ll find her.

I painted an upholstered hassock with Annie Sloan chalk paint a few years ago. It turned out beautiful and sold quickly in my shop. Our taste in colors agree; but I don’t like when you, what I think, do too much to a piece. It becomes noisy so you can’t appreciate the subtle beauty of the fabric. Sorry Sarah.

Do you think if I can use only top coat to protect my chairs?
No I saw a video where Jami Ray used clear wax. It gave it a buttery soft leather feel she said. Debi has also used a couple different methods.

That’s what I thought too which honestly made me like them more 😂
I love this! And the timing is ideal. I have 2 chairs in very good condition in a color that doesn't fit my current taste. They have high backs and are button-tufted like yours. The fabric is slightly textured. The color is similar to Fire-Starter, just a bit darker. I realize they cannot be lighter without a lot of paint and labor so I was thinking bronze or copper tones - without the metallic. Questions: ¹ should I prime first? ² any thoughts re a combination of DIY paints that would achieve either bronze or copper or antique copper? My current stash of DIY paint is limited to a dozen or so colors. (I was considering chocolate brown mixed with cake batter on the original fabric so if the original color peeks through it might appear somewhat intentional.) It might make more sense to just sell them. Your thorough video with stunning results triggered my quest for feedback. Thank you for sharing your creative journey. (I have always been drawn to chairs, even pillows, with fabric that resemble newsprint. Stamps on fabric can feed that craving. I foresee paint on pillows in my near future,!)
I hope Sarah answers because I’ve never done this but watch a ton of these videos so this is more of a question (or 2) than a suggestion. Also I’m terrible at figuring out colors so why in the world am I even typing this? 😆 If you don’t want to buy new paint, I have no ideas, but I think DIY has a paint called copper penny (or something close to that) I would use. But that’s only a help if you are willing to buy a new color. 😉 I hope it turns out exactly as you want it to! 👌👍

I painted fabric and the result was less than satisfying while the work was tremendous! I think using the heavily pigmented Debbie’s DIY paint probably made a real difference

Can you go from a dark chair to one light chair
I have heard it is harder and that people have tried and it didn’t work. Might be worth experimenting and showing on a video sometime

Sweetheart wear throw away gloves can buy them at Walmart small box clear and thin. You won’t have to be concerned about the paint on your hands. Easy to work in. Love your paint on chair.

No not at all bc it was sealed in with top coat
