Aqua Aerobic Intervals: 20 SECOND CHALLENGE + 10 SEC ACTIVE RECOVERY . Part 1

  • Let's burn lots of calories and create an oxygen debt to speed up the metabolism for the rest of the day. All of it it only 45 min of workout , plus cool down and stretching.
    Most exercises in this workout will be repeated 4 times: 20 seconds, I need you to work extra hard/ fast, then for the next 10 sec : recover...but actively: I mean that you have to keep moving just slower :-) Deal? Lets do it!
    What is an oxygen debt? Well, it is the only " good debt" that I know exists.
    What is oxygen debt?
    : a cumulative deficit of oxygen available for oxidative metabolism that develops during periods of intense bodily activity and must be made good when the body returns to rest
    What is oxygen debt and what causes it?
    a state that arises in very active muscles when insufficient oxygen is supplied by the lungs, causing the muscle tissue to respire anaerobically with the production of LACTIC ACID.
    What is an example of oxygen debt?
    What is oxygen debt? When you have a short intense burst of exercise such as sprinting you generate energy for this anaerobically or without oxygen. When you stop exercising you are still breathing heavily. This is your body taking in extra oxygen to 'repay' the debt.
    Do we need more oxygen?
    This molecule is the source of energy that keeps your entire body going at all times. But, as you can imagine, your active body requires more oxygen than when your body is at rest. During exercise, your muscles are hard at work. Your breathing and heart rate increase, pulling more oxygen into the bloodstream.

    We just put a pool in and I wanted to start doing some Aqua aerobics, I looked at a lot of different videos by far you are the best!! I love how your doing the work out but your explaining everything out of the water. Your workouts are challenging and amazing. I love your humor especially the one where you say your in a airplane looking down making sure we’re doing everything correctly lol that definitely put a smile on my face. I am definitely over weight and I hope I will be able to share my journey with you because I am hooked. Please keep the videos coming your best!!

    Amazing workouts. Everyone of them! Just wondering with this one, the timer for 20 secs doesn’t seem clear. It seems the timer for rest only begins 5 sec into the 10 sec rest. Am I supposed to keep count myself?

      Try your best to found that 20 sec. Sometime when I edit videos I have to cut something out and that is why not always we can have the exact time ;)

    I have your Sporti Heavy resistant ankle weights. I use them on your other leg videos. My question is is it good to use them on high intensity workouts. Or have no weights on your legs so you can get a better cardio workout.Would do you mind adding to your videos when do use the weights and then not to. Love your videos and your products

      Yes you can absolutely use ankle weights with HIIT workouts. I would just alternate using them every other workout.
