This episode gives the perfect summary of how SMG4 lore works. Here we have Melony, a god who defeated an eldritch horror responsible for the deaths of countless universes twice, taken down by a cork to the forehead
She literally got beat by Luigi .Exe she isn’t exactly overpowered witch is a good thing she also was struggling against zero
I think she was just letting Boopkins have his win considering she wasn't really hurt by it and was doing a dramatic death
@@jakeyt1875smg0 is a god and Luigi.EXE was from a different universe. None of them were normal. I feel like it’s fine that Melony is a god because she is the most interesting with power.
This episode was uhhhh not that great to be honest. But Its definitely not the worst, but no where near the best.

What impressed me the most was that Smg4 used the Manga Melony Model for this chapter: A model created by a fan based in Axol's suit.
Is one of my favorite outfits and shows how the fans still care for these two.
You can probably thank Mediexcalibur for that. In his BtS videos, he said he’s always looking for ways to insert fan models as a shoutout to the fans.

I wouldn’t be surprised if SMG4 season 15 does end up being the last since they probably want to focus on their other properties

I like the new setup.
If I were to remove some characters from the show, here’s who I would remove:
-Wheeler (literally a useless character who only existed for the lawsuit arc)
-The Anti Cast (sans Melony) (They are barely used despite their prominence in 2020 so I just feel like it’s best to remove them)
-Depresso (Does anyone even like this clown? He’s the most boring character. Just remove him)
-SMG1 and 2 (they have no relevance since the cosmology saga ended and with Robin leaving Glitch, I think we should just remove the two)

My thoughts on this episode as a whole.
-It was alright. I don't like how SMG4 seemingly forgot his lesson from IGTBP, but I still enjoyed this episode. While it's definitely not a perfect episode, I'd still watch this over any season 12 episode.
Smg4 is the most inconsistent show
@@jakeyt1875 Well, at least the show isn't written by Ken Penders. People say Kevin's writing is bad, but just imagine how Penders would ruin it. He'd sideline SMG4, SMG3, Mario, Luigi, AND Meggy in favor of two OCs. These OCs are so well beloved and flawless that they make the glitchy crew look like chumps.
He'd also do multiple lame plot twists that would make the normal SMG4 lore understandable. Penders would make it to where Zero returns Rise of Skywalker style and Mr Puzzles revealing that he was working for Zero. Of course there would be no explanation for Niles's return and it'd be done just for shock value.
Meggy would be flanderized even more to where she's now a complete wimp who has to rely on SMG4 to fight off opponents. It'd be the opposite problem of her being a Mary sue where she's now basically a punching bag. Mario would now become a whiny manchild tyrant who none of the crew are afraid to stand up to.
All the arc villains would also lose all their depth, becoming one dimensional "I wanna take over the world because I'm evil" archetypes.

(The crew are shocked to see that Mr Puzzles was actually a robot piloted by Depresso)
Depresso: Well well, looks like you all figured out I was a bad guy all along.
SMG4: Uh say what now?
Depresso: Isn't it obvious? I was Mr Puzzles and the person responsible for starting those arcs!
(The crew seem confused by this statement)
Meggy: But how though? And why would you do it?
Depresso: Let me tell you all a story. You know how clowns are discriminated against and how much I lost? Ever since that day, I blamed everything on you glitchy crew. As a form of revenge, I hired all those arc villains to enact my revenge against you guys. After most of those villain failed, I created this Mr Puzzles robot to enact an even bigger revenge against you chumps. I trapped you all in those shows so I could watch you all suffer.
(The SMG4 crew are just completely baffled by Depresso)
SMG3: So let me get this straight, you hired all those arc villains to go after us because you lost everything? Geez and I thought I was the petty one.
@@jakeyt1875 One thing I feel like they could fix is Meggy:
-Honestly the big problem with Meggy is how it feels like the writers are making her their equivalent of Jeffy. Reduce her screentime and give others the spotlight

I'm actually a fan of smg4 cuz his videos are good and very funny especially the memes as well and I actually also have a favorite smg4 character which is melony as well too and that's my opinion about this stuff if that's ok about this if it's all good with that

While I did like the episode I do think Mr Puzzles should of been in SMG4's spot so that way it would of protected SMG4's character development from It's Gotta Be Perfect
Exactly. While I do think the Puzzlevision saga is an improvement over Puzzlevision, I do feel like SMG4 never learned his lesson in IGBTP.
Also, do you have the feeling that the Mario we’ve been seeing is fake? Not only did he do nothing in the movie, but he also willingly got Mr Puzzles head. Mario may be dumb, but he’s not that dumb.
@@benbarnett5743 Yeah Mario maybe dumb but he would atleast of known not to take Puzzles head with him. I'm also wondering if what you said about SMG4 is true to where we'll have a plot centered around him getting greedy and causing his friends to distance themselves from him.
@@claytontessmer3566 I know. Mario's actions are the equivalent of Tifa showing Cloud a severed head of Sephiroth and calling it a nice decoration. Mario probably should know that Mr Puzzles nearly tried to take over the world. I theorize the Mario we've been seeing is a clone which could explain his flanderization.

@@ItsMovie_Sonic1 Yeah, I do think the episode here could've made it to where Mr Puzzles had some involvement so it wouldn't ruin SMG4's development, but that always seems to be the thing where the characters don't seem to learn their lessons.
well... the new stream layout looks... scuffed
Yeah the entire premise for this episode is pretty inconsistent. You'd think SMG4 has learned not to do stuff like this after the greatly traumatic events of It's Gotta Be Perfect. But I guess consistency isn't the SMG4 writers' strong suit.
Yeah, that’s the problem with the writing of the series nowadays. The writers seem to not know what to do and throw in so many plots that get ignored (I.e. the boarded up door)
@@benbarnett5743 I feel like they should try and start again on a clean slate. The SMG4 series has become a mess, and some kind of reboot wouldn't hurt.
Yeah maybe the reboot could still keep ones like Meggy, Boopkins, or the others but have this one be a more lighter and softer story

-The Anti cast, Depresso, Wheeler, and SMG1/2 are removed.
-The series has actual continuity with a better balance of comedy and drama.
-No more status quo reinforcement

i hate this episode because it uses the same premise as “mario does literally anything for views” but it includes every character now and uses more stupid challenges

It's somewhat true. Bob's challenge of donating money also kinda reminds me of Wario's challenge of donating money back in the episode New Year, New Mario. Well except for the fact that the comedic timing and payoff with the Wario one was a lot funnier.
Not to mention how SMG4 should have learned not to do stuff like that after the traumatic experience that was "It's Gotta Be Perfect", and yet he still does it. A pretty bad episode overall.
