The while idea of this video about how they say they want SMG4 to change and the minute he leaves they realize how much they miss him really makes me think of my high school classmates. After they all found out I was transferring to another school they were cheering and saying how I would not be missed. Then a year later I found out from my friend s who still went to that school I left at the time that everyone did in fact miss me. Like they say, you don’t know how much you miss something until it is gone
okay but smg4 never acted like this before. i think they ran out of ideas that they changed the character’s personalities, it was understandable for no clench since i don’t think he would’ve added a lot when we get to an episode thats Tari focused i’ll see if they forgot about him truly
That kind of thing tends to happen with episodic comedies, where a character will have a previously established trait suddenly exaggerated for the sake of the episode's plot rather than attempting to maintain a sense of continuity. Mainly because in order for the plot to mean something there needs to be some kind of character arc, and easiest solution is to just find an flaw for the character to overcome using their already existing personality, only temporarily accentuated so as to cause the plot's conflict. It's super noticeable when writers do this.
Random theory about what's happening in regards to Mr Puzzles. My theory that Mr Puzzles still has them trapped in a simulation. He's intentionally gaslighting them into thinking they are now free from his terror. Mr Puzzles already finalized the episodes before Mario corrupted them, explaining why we see characters like Karen in the shows even though she was never targeted by Puzzles personally. This ties in with another theory that Mr Puzzles was lying about why he wanted the crew. He didn't find their show to be stupid, but he knew that all of those characters were popular meaning they could help him make money by profiting off their adventures. There's another fact I should mention. Remember how Mr Puzzles states that Puzzlevision is an in universe show made to satisfy his programming's audience. The question is, who could this audience be? Well, prepare for a deep analysis, because the audience he's referring to are US, the viewers. Ever since IGTBP, Puzzles has been hijacking the channel and inspecting us to see what we enjoy about these characters. That's why he brought them to the showgrounds was so he could put them in a place where they are unknowingly under his control. He's setting SMG4 and his crew up for danger because it's entertainment, specifically entertainment he knows the audience will consume. Mr Puzzles hired One Shot Wren and Marty to start of WS and WOTFI 2023 as specials for us to consume, not caring about how the characters were affected mentally. Mr Puzzles wanted to see why these characters resonate with us to see if we would like the specials. We loved these specials which allowed him to control the channel, but Mr Puzzles failed to understand the bigger reason we resonate with these characters. We are the reason the characters suffer because we demand Mr Puzzles to make entertainment, not caring about how the crew are affected mentally. If you thought it was over, the rabbit hole goes even deeper because I think the Mario we saw wasn't the real one. Rather, it is an imposter of Mario that Mr Puzzles made so no one would question his absence. Mr Puzzles based this Mario off of how he believed the crew viewed him; a wild unpredictable animal. The real Mario is still out there fighting off Mr Puzzles because he knows the war isn't over yet. That's what makes the Puzzlevision saga unique is how it actually deconstructs the whole idea of arcs that SMG4 has done. It actually has us questioning why we constantly demand these characters to go through traumatic stuff. Do the characters in universe have a purpose aside from providing us with entertainment at the expense of their health? Why do we, the viewers, take pleasure in watching the SMG4 crew go through so much humilation and terror? It's almost like we see these characters as nothing more than chew toys for our own satisfaction which is dark on so many levels. I know they're just characters, but this arc really leaves you wondering what the characters feel realizing that they're only purpose is to provide us with entertainment at the expense of their sanity. It's not just Mr Puzzles's who is the bad guy, but if you think about it, WE are the big bads. We constantly demand entertainment and ask for higher stakes, not caring about the mental stress we put the characters through. Mr Puzzles is trying to satisfy our needs by putting the characters through danger. What do you think of this theory? It definitely makes sense to me
I mean, Mr Puzzles is a show man so he likely was flowing with the script and intentionally made his defeat look easy because he knew the crew would be gullible enough to believe they defeated him. Also, look at his live action show which was a very stupid move that I immediately believe he was deliberately making the defeat anticlimatic. He knows how the crew tend to believe they can automatically defeat Bad Guys so he essentially created a clone of himself to lower their self awareness. I believe Mr Puzzles has already taken over the SMG4 world which goes back to another point I should make. The characters acting very OOC in various episodes. For example, in WOTFI 2023, notice how the others (sans SMG4 and SMG3) never question how Marty owns a casino. That's because they weren't acting of their own volition and Mr Puzzles was manipulating the entire scenario since he already took control of the world. As for the ratings power up, he was probably lying about that. I mean, it's never explained how the ratings work since it was our ratings instead of the in universe ones that drove him mad. He was using that ratings idea not as a truth, but rather as a way to further lead the crew to falsely believe they've won only to be unaware that they're still trapped. I believe the Mr Puzzles they fought was a simulation created clone since he seemed to go insane for one episode rather than keeping a calm composure. Mr Puzzles probably was aware that the shows would go off script so he made a clone as a failsafe. He's not only a show man, but an excellent con artist, who knows his ways of playing with his victim's desires. The crew want to go out of his simulation and Mr Puzzles is granting them that wish, but twisting it so that they're still in his simulation but he's out of the picture for now. Let's now go over Mario and I believe the Mario we saw in the movie isn't the real Mario. Mr Puzzles could have immobilized or even killed him but didn't because he knew that Mario wasn't the real deal. The Mario we see in the movie was an illusion that Mr Puzzles based on the studies he made of the crew's view on him. Basically not a perfect copy of Mario, but still close enough to pass off as the real one. The Real Mario escaped and is trying to do whatever he can to warn the crew that they are still trapped in the simulation which is evident by him telling the viewers to not take their eyes off the tv. He's subtly telling us that this is a channel the crew are trapped in. This is unrelated, but I like to think Mr Puzzles was lying about his backstory too considering he smarmy he acted during the song. He says he was lonely as a child, but never told them why. Based on the way he treats the crew, I think it wasn't because he was bullied by others, but rather, Mr Puzzles himself WAS a bully. He treats everyone, even the crew, like shit and loves to flaunt his power once he has the upper hand alongside throwing tantrums when things don't go hos way. Also notice how he said he wanted to make a good show after he lost his power. He didn't say it out of remorse, but instead, was just trying to make himself look like the victim which didn't work considering the torture he put SMG4 and his friends through. The crew weren't gonna fall for his pity card trick since he put them through so much hell and saw that deep down, he was nothing more than a bully.
So in other words, Mr Puzzles was catfishing them all along and wanted to make his defeat look anticlimatic so the crew would unknowingly fall for his next trap. Trapping them in the last channel which just so happens to resemble the showgrounds so they wouldn't realize his trap at play. Mr Puzzles has probably taken over the entire SMG4 world at his disposal before Puzzlevision started. I mean, remember how I pointed out how odd it was that no one questioned Marty owning a casino? Well that's because MR Puzzles trapped them in a simulation right when they entered the showgrounds. Here's another thing too. I have lots of evidence to support my theory of the Mario in the PUZZLEVISION movie being a fake. Mario was continuously hyped up and yet he barely did anything useful. That's how Mr Puzzles wants Mario to be portrayed because that Mario, who I'll call feral Mario, is an imperfect clone made by Mr Puzzles. When making Feral Mario, Mr Puzzles analyzed how the crew viewed Mario and gave him some matching traits and, although not perfect, feral Mario was able to pass off as the real Mario. This explains why Mario has been acting out of character in some of the episodes because the Mario we've been seeing is Feral Mario. Feral Mario is essentially a personal mole for MR Puzzles, spying on the crew's every move so they won't discover the reality at hand. This even explains why Mario in Puzzlevision played animal characters because that's how Mr Puzzles sees Mario. An animal. Look at Mr Puzzles's ratings power up too. It doesn't make sense how in universe ratings de power him since it was OUR ratings that drove him mad. Even his whole live action show plan was stupid in hindsight that it seems like Mr Puzzles was intentionally acting that way. He knows that the crew wants to be free so he's basically gaslighting them into thinking they've been freed, but in reality, they're stuck on the last channel. The showgrounds they're currently at are a digital hallucination and the reality is that they never left the simulation. As for Dr. Niceguy, there is just something so... off about him. The finger snap he does is WAY too similar to the one Mr Puzzles does and the inclusion of a musical number doesn't help. Also, when would a minor character get voice acting? Well, remember how Niles was initially thought to be a minor character before his reveal? I think something like that might be happening. So, the point I'm making is that we have to think outside the box and keep our eyes open for anything that might hint of Mr Puzzles's involvement. Whether it be someone acting out of character or plots not making sense, these episodes are trying to tell us that Mr Puzzles is still at large.
