    Hatsan makes an impressive range of semi auto shotguns, especially those with a detachable magazine in bullpup configuration. I paid like $US190.00 ( 150 pounds )for an 18.5” 4+1 basic defensive model. I shoot exclusively buckshot out of it and it doesn’t miss a beat.

    Love mine - picked one up last year for £150 that was like brand new, came with all the stuff bar the original box. Used it on the clays, cycles 21g's no problem and out in the field with the bigger loads. Only thing I did was put a fibre optic sight on. Brilliant gun, shoots lovely. Just keep it clean.

    I got the 7+1 on my FAC in 2012 and it's still going strong. They had a problem with a part of the action bar breaking off, mine did it twice but the second time they swapped it out for one made of different material, I'm no metallurgist but it was different stuff :)

    had mine for 2 years used it yesterday for the first tiome ever , 30+ feed stoppages over 100 rounds , took it apart to clean it the end of the barrel that slides in to the reciever above the breach was minced , had to take a stone to it , that has to be from factory , feed problems may have been from a lack of oil but even dry it should cope with 100 rounds over the space of 4 hours ?

    @jasonc1899 5 років тому +3

    That's actually 5+1, it just has a plug which you can easily remove if your laws allow it. It's just a little plastic rod, pull the magazine tube cap off and pull the plastic rod out.

    • @UKGuns
      @UKGuns  5 років тому

      Not here in the UK. This is a 2 + 1 as the magtube is physically crimped (the tube itself is crushed slightly part way along it) so that it is too narrow to accept more than 2 rounds. I had a Huglu that had a 7 shot tube on it but I still called it a 2 + 1 because to get 7 in it again you would need to replace the magtube. So this is a 2 + 1 unless you replace the magtube, which you wouldn't be able to buy without the proper licence.

      @@UKGuns I was wondering as I saw another UK video where shooter fired off 7 or 8 shots. Canada a centerfire semi auto is limited to 5 rounds for a long gun and 10 for a pistol. There are a few loopholes such as lar15 stanag pistol mags, but seeing as lar15 is now prohibited I don't know if the magazine's will be as well. I have a non ar rifle which takes ar mags, not sure if I'm going to have to rivet them or what.

      This gun is a 3" chamber. Its the "Double Magnum" version that can fire 3" 1/2 shells I believe. Yes have had the lick of flame out of the ejection port many times, I believe it is just due to a build up of unburnt powder that burns off after a shot is fired (and the gun is hot already)

    Your Escot is actually a 4+1. All you have to do is remove the Magazine plug, item 405 from the instruction manual. The magazine plug restrics the magazine to only holding 2 roungs.

    • @UKGuns
      @UKGuns  2 роки тому

      Incorrect. The tube is also crimped to prevent more than 2 rounds from being loaded. This is UK law, the Magazine plug is still present yes but it is defunct as the law requires permanent modification for it to be considered 2+1 and so it is physically impossible to load more than 2 rounds in the tube with or without the magazine plug.

    • @robertgross834
      @robertgross834 2 роки тому

      @@UKGuns I'm in the US and the manual states: Migratory Magazine Plug
      Migratory magazine plug when assembled decreases the capacity of the shotgun to 2+1 for safety reasons or for the regulations varying from country to country.
      PS. Migratory magazine plug is optional. Consult your dealer about your country’s laws regarding use of
      this.

    • @UKGuns
      @UKGuns  2 роки тому +2

      @Robert Gross yes that may be the case in States but here in the UK it is a legal requirement that the gun is permanently modified to ensure only two shells can be loaded into the magazine tube (except for Section 1 shotguns which are a different category and have no magazine limitations) this modification is usually wither carried out by the manufacturer or by the importer after the gun arrives in the UK. They crimp the magazine tube on all sides so as to make it too narrow for a 12G shell to go past right at the point where 2 shells would sit.

    Biggest garbage I ve ever bought. after 50rds of high quality ammo ,it started double feeding,jamming,and finally completely unable to lock in when loaded, thus unable to fire. ANYBODY who gave a positive review for Hatsan was either very lucky, or NEVER fired more than 20 rds, or was paid by Hatsan, or is a gun dealer carrying Hatsan garbage ( made in Turkey).Here in US we called stuff made in China garbage. But I lived in Europe for 18 years - there EVERYBODY know that Turkey makes the biggest crap in the world. China products are LEVELS above Turkish junk!!! There are a couple of big name gun manufacturers who also have production in Turkey,but they are BIG names and stand behind they are products, not "HATSAN USA"!

    • @UKGuns
      @UKGuns  4 роки тому +1

      I'm neither a gun dealer nor paid by Hatsan, I have also probably fired close too if not in excess of 2000 rounds through my escort Magnum with minimal failures. I know at least 4 other people who also own Hatsans who have had a similar experience, the only issue I know of that many Hatsan owners have to correct is the Magazine Tube follower can sometimes break as it is plastic (not happened to mine) I think older versions of Hatsan may have had a different reputation but certainly here in the UK Hatsan, while definitely not a PREMIUM gun, it is widely regarded as good value and it's very popular here for that reason. You can also see in the comments a number of other users with similar experiences to mine.

      The explanation is in the "here in the US"...
      Renowned for not maintaining any machinery...
      As has been emphasised only too often...
      CLEAN any shotgun after every shooting session.
      Fire 50 cartridges in one day..strip and clean the gun.
      Fire 25 in one day..strip and clean it.
      Fire 5 cartridges in one day strip and clean it.
      It always goes back in the safe CLEANED and lubed......
