I'm so happy I saw this video. I'm thinking of getting an EEW 6.1 and I really like doing artyarn and wasn't sure how it was going to work on this wheel. Also love your kitty.
Hi Vampy and puss 🐈 . I hope you're both ok xx 😘 Thankyou so much for sharing this video podcast, on "Core Spinning Art Yarn " on the eWheel 6. I got this Wheel off my Husband for Christmas and have so far not Spun this type of thing yet. So Thankyou for sharing your expertise. I can't wait to try this !!! Happy Spinning ❤ 🐏 Take care and stay safe Love and hugs Jen xxxx 🐏 🫂 💖 🐈⬛🐈⬛
Do you have trouble with the flier hooks catching? My corespun wanted to hang up on the wire. What type of spring did you use when you swapped it out? Thanks 😊
This is a fabulous video! You are so clever, thank you for showing this as I am interested in making art yarn for my friend to weave with. Will you be doing anymore chunky art yarn videos?
I don't know. It probably is, but it's not important. What matters is that it is plied, and reasonably grippy. If it's a balanced yarn then the adding twist either way will unbalance it somewhat. You can counter this by adding extra Z twist before starting spinning, but I don't bother as I normally use this sort of yarn for weaving where it needs a lot of excess twist for any difference to be noticeable in the FO. Even with knitting, corespun at this low level of twist doesn't cause any biasing.

Thanks for showing us this very different type of yarn. I think your cat was trying to steal the show.
Great tutorial and adorable tortie. I also have a very helpful cat.
Loving your testing of the EEW 6.0. Looking forward....

You can also put you fiber on the big drum to get different texture
Can you mention where you got the tighter spring? Thanks.
The EEW 6.0 comes with 2 springs, i think the stiffer one is attached when you get it, and the weaker one in the spares bag.
Is your core yarn z-ply?
