This glorious alpaca is from the awesome folks at North Coast Alpacas. If you are in Northern Ireland stop by and pet Lu for me!! FYI he is great and he knows it! 😂 northcoastalpacas.co.uk/
Hi thank you for all the tutorials you make. May I ask you one thing? How did you make the alpaca puppet? I would like to can make one for my grandchild could you please teach me? Thank you
Thank you for answering me and again thanks for all your tutorials. I am in Italy but I do t find to much about , and I found you and you have a lot of tutorials so thank you so much 😊
I heard you say it doesn’t matter which direction you load up the locks for your purposes. Is there ever a time when the directionality matters? Intuition tells me it could be smoother if it’s all aligned and then spun in one direction also-I assume with the cut ends toward the wheel. I’m just making this up, but I’m curious what you’d say! 😊
Technically, it matters if you want a truly worsted prep yarn, but what I have done here is perfectly acceptable. If you want truly worsted combed top you would need to scour the locks in place. If you look at my CVM/ Romeldale combing and spinning videos you will see what I mean.
If it breaks I rethread the working fiber end through the Diz and keep going. It’s not the end of the world if it breaks , you will just have your combed top in a couple of pieces. It doesn’t change the spin at all. This Alpaca was so fine that some of it broke when I was winding it up from the floor. It’s no big deal. It’s just cosmetic. As you practice you will the get the hang of it and it won’t break often!

Thank you for watching! The little alpacas were a gift from my husband. I did not make them. He got them at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival.

what do you do if it breaks during dizzing?
