For me its not even hype. Its this idea in my head that regardless of combat and gameplay or bugs this is the game i want. Was much the same with Pillars of Eternity. Its combat difficulty was broken on launch. The removal of endurance system bothered me and i found the gameplay to be sortof downgraded. The story writing and reputation/disposition system was all i needed to enjoy it. All i seem to want out of single player RPG's are choices and consequences with the world reacting to them.
As an RPG fan, sci fi nerd and somebody who has enjoyed every Obsidian game I've played this is easily my most hyped game of the year. An Obsidian game is always something to get excited for.
Looking forward to this game, it is like a little beacon of what games were truly all about. Honest people making a game they want to make. Simple as that.. so refreshing.

This game isn't going to blow your mind nor is it this AAA budget experience. Think of it in the scope of Fallout New Vegas. The developers even stated to limit your expectations for The Outer Worlds and if you do so the game will be exactly what is has always been and not an unnecessary disappointment that your excitement blew out of proportion.

That’s a really good example, The Witcher series had pretty humble beginnings and honestly the gameplay was pretty crap (in the first, a little better in the second game) but the story telling and world building carried it so far, now look what it’s become. I hope you’re right, cheers.
These people were incredibly genuine and you can tell that they put a lot of passion in this game. Contrast that with the peeps at Bethesda who don't seem to know what they're doing. When Todd Howard gives an interview, you can tell that he's nervous in front of the camera and says certain thing that don't go with the game or tries to obfuscate certain details. Regardless, I have faith in Obsidian and I think, contrary to what a lot of people think, their partnership with Microsoft will go well. The future is looking bright.

Im not a huge FPS guy but this is one of my most anticipated games of the year hands down. Obsidian is one of the best devs in the industry right now, that and Tim Cain is adorable.

I would have loved to be the pizza guy who delivered that pizza to that conference room. Seeing creative processes like this has always intrigued me. I have no doubt, from these GI videos, that this game is going to be awesomely weird, and I love that.
Trust me, I have not experienced anything higher than (okay, admittedly I have never done drugs) the high I get in that space of creation. It is euphoric, it is orgasmic (I also get it on stage but that's because I am also a performer). Bluesky sessions are exciting af. But coming down on Earth and actually bloody implementing, that's where most people will fall apart. That's why I have so much admiration for people who can actually get the work done, and it is incredible when they actually do it well too.

John Smith I don’t really agree it’s competing with doom eternal which a 100% simple and basic shooter and borderlands 3 which is a looter shooter, that’s really it for big names outer worlds itself is getting quite a bit of hype around it there’s no game similarly to it releasing anytime soon except maybe CP 2077 except I disagree with that cause they’re vastly different themes, and outer worlds seems to be a bit more dialogue heavy

Cyberprank 2077 No Exact Release Date has been shown all we know for show is it is releasing this year HOWEVER Steam did show a release of August 9th but a lot of the time “Leaked” release dates turn out to be bullshit.
There is a very good chance certain AAA publishers and their Live Service games & microtransaction model is going to cause them to collapse within the next few years. What Obsidian, and smaller studios are doing is going to be the way forward, hopefully? Appropriate budgets and expectations. So, if the game doesn't do well, it's not the end of the world. Smaller is better if the quality is there backed by industry giants like Microsoft. The future looks bright even if it appears darkest before the dawn...
Yeah, I think to prevent abolishment, they have found home at MS. Otherwise, these companies, cannot survive for very long. Even in the 90s where the market was not as saturated (though definitely was not as popular either) they would constantly have to remake themselves.

lol everybody was so excited and optimistic for this game but once they said it was an epic game store exclusive they became vilified by the community

There is a very good chance certain AAA publishers and their Live Service games & microtransaction model is going to cause them to collapse within the next few years. What Obsidian, and smaller studios are doing is going to be the way forward, hopefully? Appropriate budgets and expectations. So, if the game doesn't do well, it's not the end of the world. Smaller is better if the quality is there backed by industry giants like Microsoft. The future looks bright even if it appears darkest before the dawn...
Yeah, I think to prevent abolishment, they have found home at MS. Otherwise, these companies, cannot survive for very long. Even in the 90s where the market was not as saturated (though definitely was not as popular either) they would constantly have to remake themselves.
