I enjoyed this video! One problem with the UA-cam '$10 sleeper camera' videos are every time a particular model is recommended, that helps the prices to go up when people look to buy one.. Over the years I have purchased some models when they were new or have found them at thrift stores or garage sales. I have the Canon SD1100 & the SD1200 and the S90. Kodak Easy Share M577 with a Schneider lens and it has a film filter offering Kodachrome, Ektachrome, Kodacolor, T-Max, Tri-Max, and Sepia. I have Sanyo VPC-T1060, Olympus FE170, Nikon Coolpix 5600 and S4300. I also have them for the CCD sensor and the film like images they produce. Best of luck in your photography journey!! Best wishes, Duane

Thanks very much. Yeah, that's true. I've noticed the price of those going up. Everybody's getting into the digicams these days. That's a great collection you've got there. I've been looking at picking up another one myself & hope to have a new video on that coming out soon. :-)

I recently found a Lumix DMC-LZ6 at a local thrift store and picked it up for $19. I really didn't need it but was attracted to the condition it and the original case were in. It has clearly not been used very much. It's been difficult to find much info or opinions on-line but I am very happy with the image quality coming out of the 7.2 Mp CCD sensor. Only downside is a lack of an optical viewfinder, especially in bright sunlight.

That's a great find! I've really enjoyed my old Lumix. But I do wish it had an optical viewfinder. Apparently, with the LX and GX series, you can buy external optical viewfinders that can be used with those. Might be worth checking out.

It's a great one! Can't believe it's still working for me after all these years and all the places it's been.

About a year ago I spotted a Nikon Coolpix L11 in a thrift store and bought it for $15. It's 12MP with a 6-24mm zoom, f3.1-6.7, and lots of mode options. It easily slips into a pocket and actually takes incredibly good photographs. The problem with these particular cameras is the battery door latch is weak and easily breaks. Replacement doors are available for $15 on ebay and easily replaced, but I found that a heavy duty rubber band is a free and easy solution that works just fine. It runs on two AA batteries. I normally shoot an Olympus e-P3 or OMD em1. The e-P3 is a very compact interchangeable lens micro four-thirds camera that I carry a lot, but not as quick and easy as the Nikon. Because of both the Nikon and e-P3 I now have a camera with me virtually all of the time, and that does mean I take more pics, and the more you take, the better photographer you become. For extended shooting excursions and telephoto work I primarily use the OMD e-M1.

What a great find! Especially if you're sharing to social media, the lower megapixel counts of these old digicams aren't an issue. I've taken a number of photos that I'm pretty happy with on mine. I'd sure love to find the Canon SD1000 for $10-15. I'm keeping my eye out. I was thinking it might be cool to collect a few of these retro models. There are so many neat ones out there.

Man, nobody talks about the coolpix L series, I bought a Nikon Coolpix *L27* a week or two ago, 16.1MP, although it has a 4.6-23.0mm zoom, in my experience: no, the latch/door is pretty sturdy! (then again, i do have a different model) but anyway, it takes *spectacular* photos; i even took pics of an old VW Beetle/Fiat CL gang of cars just yesterday, it definitely solidified it as a memorable day; otherwise i may have forgotten about it.
Edit: i bought it for 5$ btw.

@@potatodude5327 Thanks for sharing that! 16 MPs is pretty good for an older Digicam. I've never used a Nikon before, so this might be my inspiration to pick one up. I see they can be had on eBay for a fairly decent price right now.

My collection consists of 2 digicams. Cheap Kodak EasyShare C530 i bought for a few bucks and more advanced my dad's Fujifilm FinePix S5600, both are rocking AA batteries. I recently became more interested in that stuff. 😀

Nice! The Kokak cam is like a piece of history. They used to be so huge with film, but were slow to innovate with digital. Other companies like Fuji ate their lunch as a result. I heard Fuji cams are good for producing “film like” digital images. Have you found that with yours?

@@mytogblog I agree. Fujis have something in them. I don't know if i can compare it to film, but they have that kinda nostalgia which film has too, but in a slightly different way in my camera.

    Hello :-)
I like older Digicams runing on AA Batteries and have a tiny collection. My favorites are the Lumix DMC LS3 and the Samsung ES15. It´s realy fun to shoot with them. If you know your camera very well, you can get good resultes. Not realy the same as like DLSR, but good enough.
    With greetings from lower Bavaria.

Mine is a Canon SD1200. Seven bucks at a garage sale. I also have an SD780, a bit more upscale. But that lives in a little belt case.

That’s awesome! What a great deal. Thanks for the info too. I’m looking at putting together a video that goes over some cool options for old “sleeper cams” 😀📸
