Taiwan’s “Dangerous Separatist” Lai Eyes “Steady” Approach Against China’s ‘Carrots & Sticks’ Game

- Lai Ching-te, Taiwan’s fifth elected president, is set to be sworn in on May 20 and will deliver his inaugural address in front of the Presidential Office. During his address, Lai is set to pledge stability by maintaining the status quo in its relationship with China. Lai Ching-te will take office after he won a historic third successive presidential term for the independence-leaning DPP in January’s elections. According to Taiwanese lawmaker Puma Shen, who sits on parliament's foreign affairs and defence committee, Lai wants to show Taiwan is not a "troublemaker." However, Shen also added that “no matter what he says during the inauguration, China will always disagree.” Watch the video to find out more.

China is a part of Taiwan because China has two parts due to Civil War Republic of China and Peoples Republic of China. Currently both parts have their own administrations but during the civil war Taiwan was the government and China were the rebels. Sooner or later both parts will be united because the separation caused by Civil War should not last long. God bless their eternal unity

What kind of Independent country Taiwan need to be? Taiwan is an independent country since 1949 the same time with China. Taiwan does have its own government, its own money, its own military etc. Taiwan need to build a good defense to defend its own people and territories, and ignores China s threats and intimidations.

Majority of Taiwan elected parliamentarians are China friendly. Most of their mayors are also China friendly. Tough for the president.
