Two minutes and a half to kill a P100 Boss when we have Crushing Hands and Quill Volley (pre patch BTW, QV is getting its double cast from weapon fixed) and others spamming Rift 150, feels like Evade is gone to a ton of players. At least lag will be reduced, but don't think I'm giving a try to this one again, watching you trying out P85 and P100 was boring (not the content, but the dynamics of the gameplay), doing it will be even worse. I was playing evade and had already started grabbing quill volley gear. It’s worth it to make the change. Quill volleys power level is so higher in comparison. Both are fun, but in the end I think quill is worth the change with the fix incoming.
@@elestra1504 Anything is slow compared to Evade, but the power level is so much higher. I am completing 110s minutes faster with quill, then with evade. Cant speak on Crushing hand. Quill bounces around, so its pretty quick.

It's a shame that all spiritborn builds thus far take advantage of the resolve/block chance bug. I thought the evade build was different than the overpower build but seeing Raxx with 24 resolve stacks and the same aspects and paragon focus was quite the let down. Is anyone even theorycrafting builds with the new class that dont rely on bug damage?
No. Cuz we live in a generation of participation trophy pansies. Nobody actually wants to be challenged, they just want to get all the shit for free and say they played their best.
My wife ragequit after the build she wanted to play just wasn't panning out and she saw just how much fun I was having with evade spam. Blizz really painted people into a corner this expansion, for better or worse.
I wonder how long Blizz has been balancing Spiritborn with those bugs in place. Would they even do good damage with those bugs fixed? I can't build craft in this game. Too many disparate pieces.
Hi Raxx Thanks so much for the updated build, I have a major problem with evade cooldown as it doesn't reset fast and I have to wait for about 2-3 seconds. what am I missing here ? how do you keep evading Thanks again
I have noticed that everything you said in the video was already in the guide on maxroll :D if you build the toon like in the guide there is no problem with anything, sepazontec and other things resets the cdr on evade so you always have it on, just can't spam the button for it.
I don't know how meta this may be but I added a little sorciness to my spiritborn. I run a jag/gorilla build with Aldkin/Raheir. I playtested the meteor rune when moving 5 meters+ added lightning 🪶s to my extra evades. With evade cooldown buff it can look like the sky is falling ☄️+🌠 plays and looks good in action imo

@@deadpool5264 For the most part the servers have been stable though. The build was bugged, quite badly, so they fixed it. And no indie company with the player count blizzard can pull have the servers to cope with that load. Wayfinder is a perfect example to that. So much so they had to completely change their game.
The age old lesson with blizzard games: play as soon as possible on new releases to exploit the broken builds, be miles ahead of everyone that didn't use it when they nerf it.

@@Vell1981 No. My point is blizzard should've fixed this on day 1 or better yet during PTR, because that's the whole point of spoiling the expansion. I can only speculate that it wasn't fixed because so many streamers were playing it and it looked so goofy/powerful that brought people into the game. It's the exact modus operandi of the Dungeon Experience drama on the launch of WoW's The War Within. People from early access leveled dozen of toons during the weeks it took Blizzard to nerf it and people who bought the standard edition got stuck with "regular" dungeons.

Raxx, you are awesome for doing this. The build is still going to slap, but the whole point was the zoomies not the dps really, at least for me. Still though, excellent guide and explanation.
Raxx says "just get a shako". There is surely a space inbetween everybody having multiple mythics and nobody having them. And right now, nobody has them.
I know right, hes like just farm runes in the undercity...like ya sure but at max they drop 4 or 5 and their are like what 45 at different rarity? Ya super easy....
The ability to move quickly through pits and around the map while mowing down mobs is the point of Evade build. If it becomes just a weaker Quill damage output build that can move slower than Red Wedding/Jon Snow Sorcs, its not really viable anymore for why it was a desirable build. Its nice to see theres a way to play it still even if its effectively no longer worth playing for the reason people were playing it to begin with.
@@BH-zo4nqAka they're killing the point of the builds entire purpose as you'll now be weaker than the insta 1 tap Quill builds but move just as fast as them but with a roll every 1.7 seconds. So you'll even be slower than Dance of Knives Rogues/Red Wedding Sorcs and weaker than 1 Tap Quill builds.
@@BH-zo4nq You said the only thing they're changing is that the way the build works with evade with it being slower via having to wait until the Evade CD finishes. My reply was thats what they're changing is the point of playing the build as the understanding was you move fast but will probably not solo Teir 4 tormented bosses or do high tier pits due to damage not being high enough to down them comparable to Quill builds that essentially 1 tap the bosses but aren't dashing through the map at the speed of or or faster than a mount like the Evade build.
Is there a setting, or something you can do with your computer, that allows you to hold down the space bar (evade) and it will just evade constantly? Doesn't seem like there is a way to "channel" evade, it's just lots of pushing (which is fine, but would be nice to not).
Of course. Download auto hotkey and map a macro on repeat to your key of choice. Just make sure that the delay between presses is realistic. 90% of the reason for the nerf to dodge was because people were using macros that could activate the skill faster than any human was capable of doing and the second you get 2 or more people running that it would lag every other player in the server. I tried to keep it to 3 presses per second to not be a dick. But yeah it's definitely possible
The average player is not going to be able to simply swap to a Shaco unless their build is already way into deep T4 content. Anyone still stuck in t1/t2/t3 is going to feel easily a 90% nerf. If you're able to spam an evade every 50ms now and its going to be somewhere north of 500ms then well.. its gonna feel really bad. I appreciate seeing the pivot and im going to wait until thursday to swap to quill rain, but I really dont think this build is going to be played by the vast majority of players anymore.
I'm fairly deep into t4 content (50-60 solo boss kills) and I haven't had one mythic unique drop, and I'm nowhere near the rune requirements for crafting. I definitely have to play a different build, at least until I get runes for a shako or it drops through sheer luck. Mythics are so much harder this season
@@Ccubed92 I can assure you that I am one of the endgame players and this change wont affect me since im on a diff build anyways. But I do agree with you, this build carried people to highs they normally wouldnt have gotten
since they are slowing down the evade, you actually need much less cooldown than you do now, so you probably wont need to try very hard to hit the cooldown requirement and can fit more offensive tempers
If you're going to do the resolve stacking, I feel you might as well just play quill volley since you dash between targets anyway so the speed is comprable. Then you just end up 1 shotting anything you run into, even bosses, which would make quill volley net faster anyways. Also, there are version of resolve stacking that do not require any mythics, like the mystic circle version, that actually hit for trillions. So this may be easier/harder depening on what type of player you are.
Evade build is the most fun build I've played in D4, its awesome for speed farming but struggles against high hp pool bosses later endgame. I really hope they don't totally annihilate this awesome sonic build, it is just super fun 👌
My build was not even close to power level as yours but after nerf today I managed to kill Uber Lilith within like 4 tries. Last time I fought Lilith was at the end of D4 campaign when the game got released. The only issue were these blue projectiles. I can still run through stuff without any issues. It's just not as fast so not as fun as it used to be. Wish it was faster to play. It was so refreshing to play something like this after going necro like 3 times. Its still way way faster than necro but damn I'm gonna miss this so bad.
That’s exactly what I was telling people 😂 So fun. Exactly like pac-man when you look at the mini map.. and then you get the 3d version when you look at your screen
You can just get a CDR GA amulet and triple crit evade cooldown along with resolve and a GA CDR Rak that put you at 72.8% CDR. Use a Legendary Resolve helm or Hier of predition instead. My crit with Fist of faith is 50-100b.
my friends got 2 resplendent. 1 from ubers and 1 from lilith when I ran them through both. I only got the 1 from the season journey. They hadn't competed the journey yet as they just finished the new campaign. I was :salty:
As I said in other post, I'm not good at builds...but it looked to me like there might be some mileage in a Thorns build using Spiritborn...utilising some of the skills/codexes that give thorns damage a bonus based on movement speed...or am I just seeing things? What character has the best thorns build right now, and is it any good?
I never did get a Sepazontec to try this out 😢 but I did make a rubbish version of it (I'm not good at builds, I get information overload and can't seem to "see" the big combos) using a pair of boots that gave +2 evade charges...it got me through Torment 1 at least. Short version; I'm sure there'll be plenty of life in the Spiritborn yet; I doubt Blizzard would be so short-sighted as to kill their new prize pig this early on. D'you ever wonder whether they sit around on launch day of new content and think "Hey, let's watch them use the clever new "resolve" mechanic we created to get the big damage", but then at the end they are all like "Evade? They're using evade? Bloody players eh? I never saw that coming..."😂
Raxx, u mentioned u are constantly giving feedback to blizzard, please let them know that we as players (proofs in comments below) love that typ of build. Good visual, momentum, using abilities in completely different (and fun!) way than they were designed for. Mostly important u feel like u cracked the game. Godly feeling.
Oof. That showcase was rough. You can obviously fix the damage, but this new gear requirement for the build, and the insane reduction at how fast the build is has totally killed my interest in this build. What a shame :(
I have worked round the bugs and done all the season journey and all the new activities, I’m not going to waste time trying to masterwork unachievable gear to a T… See you all in season 7 folks!
Midnight Sun is a solid choice if you're struggling with cdr. You don't get any benefit from the unique aspect, but it's still got crit chance, crit damage, dex and cdr.
@@Hakkdunu The storm feather potency temper isn't a great loss, it's like 50 or so when you've already got hundreds, but yeah it's just a stopgap measure til you can get a good ammy and MW everything
Keep in mind folks in order to do this you need to be unemployed like this guy and have nothing going on because you need a master work at 12 out of 12 all the stuff takes hours and hours of time that we don’t have
The point of playing this build instead of quill volley is to zoom around, if that's gone there's no reason to play this build instead of the one that deals 10 times the damage. And remember to achieve the numbers he's showing and perma evading you need an insane amount of cdr, he has shako with triple masterwork bonus on CDR which is insane to get. Sadly blizzard is killing the fun, at least for the majority of players that cannot afford to spend hours to either get 3 masterworks on cdr of shako or shako with GA (and probably 2 GA)

After the nerf will you even need so much CDR if you can only evade 2~ times a second? Seems like you could get some more damage out of this build with less CDR.
I can verify that I got the spark from Lillith (Torment 1) and the spark from killing a Torment 4 boss (one spark for any boss, not one for each). I have not completed the season journey yet, I have two sparks currently. The reason I love this build is it allows me to never need to mount in this game. The mount system is just awful here, randomly getting stuck on things, and base speed is slower than someone who stacked movement speed items. But, my left thumb is killing me now so the Quill Volley build looks pretty attractive haha
You just need a Shako and bunch of top tier GA items with perfect rolls xD that's it! :D BTW. this version of the build is called Pit pushing and that's nothing new, just requires a lot of gear just like Overpowered Quill.
Build nerfed? NP, just throw on a shako. . .lost me right there. I don't even consider builds that require RNG to get going because I would need a better build just to farm for a build that isn't even required by that point. Safe to say, nobody is going to really care about this build anymore unless they're being sweaty.
You know, for people that just want the easy road, you can just play on "normal" and have the same brainless power fantasy with any build you throw together.

Imagine blizz didn't fix the reset when you use the aspect that makes you a swarm of bats.
Exactly, this has always been a bug, but now its a problem
Dayam, thanky Brother! Great news! I have been a yelling and hollering idiot since I read the patch notes, and seeing your build makes my Wife's ears alot happier🤣🤣🤣...Cheers, kudos, and cheers again🍻🍻
I know it's irrelevant to this but your pizza hut story was hilarious 😅 it cracked me up good, and you've given me some great ideas for my own builds with this, great vid! Love your work
Hey Raxx, just did Uber Lillith on T1, it does complete the challenge that rewards a Resplendant Spark now. Cheers and thanks for the tip.
Honestly the evade build felt like a cool zoom build more than a be all end all endgame crusher.
I was playing evade and had already started grabbing quill volley gear. It’s worth it to make the change. Quill volleys power level is so higher in comparison. Both are fun, but in the end I think quill is worth the change with the fix incoming.
Quill is slow AF compared to Evade and Crushing Hand
@@elestra1504 Anything is slow compared to Evade, but the power level is so much higher. I am completing 110s minutes faster with quill, then with evade. Cant speak on Crushing hand. Quill bounces around, so its pretty quick.
@elestra1504 No, it's not... I tele across the map and clear as quick as evade build. I do more damage as well.
Bros out there one shotting everything and asking about how he can do more damage.
Okay, now i have nice use for my GA cdr shako. Nice job Rax
I didn’t get a spark from Lilith (killed her twice on torment 1) or from any of the 300+ tormented boss runs I’ve done (including a couple in torment 4).
There's a retro change in the patch that'll address that
Some ppl under a rock idk how they are on UA-cam and don't know this lmao @@CJW0056
Yeah me too
I just picked up the expansion and I honestly though what I was seeing tonight was pre-nerf, it is insanely powerful I can't imagine that it was actually stronger at one point as currently I'm one shotting groups with a single evade
Can confirm T1 Lilith drops the spark. That's how I got it last week. Then a seperate spark for the season and for a T4 ladder boss. I now have 3 sparks.
so glad to hear that the only thing I need to keep running this build is a fully masterworked cd reduction shako (or insanely lucky GA cd reduction drops on half my equipment). My build is definitely not dead, I just need to farm glyphs for the next seven years!
Hey raxx this is Chaoswolf(Dulmagus) is my character name for D4 I just wanted to say that the eagle evade spirtborn I followed the build on maxroll but I'm using sep-tec with skulls for life on kill fists of fate undying amulet starlight ring and band of firs breath items are not optim by any means im paragon 55 and almost single handely took out ashava on T1 Yea build is not nursed or I don't think so
Thank you and insane Bob SO Much for this build AKARAT INNA and the others would be SO Proud of your accomplishments.
Doesn't seem like it, but I look forward to you building one and sharing it here :) Maybe a Gorillapede build.
Hi Raxx
Thanks so much for the updated build, I have a major problem with evade cooldown as it doesn't reset fast and I have to wait for about 2-3 seconds.
what am I missing here ? how do you keep evading
Thanks again
Put thunderspike on your bars it will fix it
@@kieranblachford5154 It does not work with the legendary wepon
You probably have the Juggernaut Aspect equipped. It increases the evade cooldown by 100%.
Not enough cdr
you need 4 evade charges and at least 62% cdr
When D4 launched i was one of the players who was super exicted to play the WW Barb and then got rekt by all the nerfs.
This nerf feels just like back then, so D4 got killed for me... again.
A lot of the people already wrote it here and i just can confirm it. Its not about the dmg its about the speed and fun.
So lets hope for the goblin blaster next season
Was a bug fix, not a nerf. It was literally making servers unstable.
@@danlufc95never had a problem, neither any of my friends.
Maybe they should update their servers, instead of "Bugfixing" .
Animation cancel is a tale old as the fire, almost every game had it.
@@deadpool5264 Me and mine had multiple dc’s on both console and pc due to the bug so it was definitely a problem. Not had any today with it being fixed. Spend money updating servers or fix a bug to get the same outcome? lol. No company has perfect servers.
@@danlufc95 yeah ur right, spend money that they get from us to deliver a better performance for us. But I think this logic doesn't apply to Blizzard, since they don't give a shit about their customers.
And ik a lot of Smaller companies that have way more stable servers with less money and games to get that money from.
@@deadpool5264 For the most part the servers have been stable though. The build was bugged, quite badly, so they fixed it. And no indie company with the player count blizzard can pull have the servers to cope with that load. Wayfinder is a perfect example to that. So much so they had to completely change their game.
not the one button build but Super Strong! Nice Raxx
The age old lesson with blizzard games: play as soon as possible on new releases to exploit the broken builds, be miles ahead of everyone that didn't use it when they nerf it.
this! I am maybe about 10h in, P110, just switched to evade eagle, had one 2h session of tons of fun last night, i audible giggled. Now, people with p250 will simply regear, but I am not eve n near that
Yep. Exploit early and often...because it's going to get fixed.
Once Blizzard actually moves the decimal point on Viscous Shield, there's going to be a lot of tears.
Yeah i played all the content already with it
It is a Bug so according to you Blizzard should only fix bugs that are not fun in the first place. 🤦♂
They broke my thunderspike build with their evade nerf. I’m furious…
Power, gone, speed, gone… ultimate cooldown was nearly zero due to evade cooldown with flickerstep… so many hours, down the drain.
Tier 57 in the pit, now I can’t mangage a 10.’
That’s it, I’m out
So sorry I bought VoHl f@ck I’m mad
as someone who doesnt have the time to rebuild every 3 days, im just gonna take a break for a few days after patch before i decide what to do. just stacking mats and levels for now
Needing a Shako for this is gonna make getting this up and running quite difficult unless you're super lucky. >.>
On another note: it's not "Vicious Shield." It's "vi-skuhs."
So long as nothing gets nerfed that will affect this build, I'll go after it if I ever get a Shako.
I say it 'viss kiss'
Sounds the same way both ways. :D
I'm still waiting for my resplendent spark that I haven't gotten yet for killing my first tormented boss
I got one from Lilith, and from the end of the season journey reward. Are we supposed to get one from a tormented boss?
You'll get it by next dlc
@@Mike-om4tv Your first T4 Tormented Boss gives you a spark, I know it is bugged for some just like Lilith is. I got my spark from the T4 Boss, but nothing from Lilith.
Same. Killed all the tormented bosses and Uber Lilith. No reslendent spark.
@@MessyBandit23 it says after you slay your first tormented boss, doesn't say it has to be a T4 boss- who the hell knows
Only reason why spiritborn are so powerful compared to other classes is that every build is exploiting the same bugs with the shield legendary and stacking +block above 100% and getting insane crit damage from the aspect. I’m playing a spiritborn and I really hope they fix those bugs, all other classes just feels inferior because of them
I love how we can still hit super high damage number. And this is after the "stat squish".
YES LOVE THIS! THE SERVERS ARE SLOWLY DYING! The bugs and stuff not working and glitching out like totems of akarat not being on the map in some spots intermittently or how goblins drop zero loot sometimes and opals don't increase any drop zakrum remnants STILL
While I can understand the frustration of the majority of player wanting to play a "sh'm'up simulator", I'm glad they are fixing the (non intended) evade animation cancel. Because now, that's something that I can enjoy playing. Never been a fan of playing the meta or cheating in games, which is basically the same thing in this genre LUL
The number shortening is gonna be great. Also, you forgot that players are able to go over 100% block chance so that nerf is gonna hurt too.
Shouldn't we just wait for the evade change to drop to be sure how it performs?
just play it and wait the evade animation as rax has done it in the vid, then you know how it will feel
I mean it's pretty easy to test how it will work, since the only thing they're changing is you can't evade again until you've completed an evade
@@yamispade Yes.... Idk what your comment has to do with mine
End game was never intended for the "average" player. Be exceptional. Start by doing your own build and stop logging into maxroll
@@godofm3tal1 If youre here watching this video youre likely an average player.
Endgame wasn't intended for you and 99 percent of others. Yal just got their with a bigger out build
Finally my pet will be able to pick up all the materials instead of despawning in front of it because I've travelled through 3/4th of the dungeon
This is Blizzard telling me once again not to have fun with their game so I'll wait for POE2 where I have player agency
Sadly it's dead unless you want to play a weaker Quill build that rolls every 1.7 seconds vs instantly.
It’s not a nerf. It’s fixing the evade animation. How it is intended.
If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck.
@@Daft_Ideas this reply means nothing.
@@Thrice_1904 it means a fix can be a nerf and vice versa.
The evade build now feels like playing Pac-Man when the ghosts start running. I’ll miss that.
That’s exactly what I was telling people 😂 So fun. Exactly like pac-man when you look at the mini map.. and then you get the 3d version when you look at your screen
so why is their inner calm aspect on ring now? 13?% dmg, triple is stand still for 3sec. When do you ever stand still with this build?
You can just get a CDR GA amulet and triple crit evade cooldown along with resolve and a GA CDR Rak that put you at 72.8% CDR. Use a Legendary Resolve helm or Hier of predition instead. My crit with Fist of faith is 50-100b.
Nice cooldown 😎
my friends got 2 resplendent. 1 from ubers and 1 from lilith when I ran them through both. I only got the 1 from the season journey. They hadn't competed the journey yet as they just finished the new campaign. I was :salty:
Appreciate the effort, but i just switched to Touch of Death, no need to ride a dead Horse.
Yes speed has been so fun zipping around, sad day. Im going to try crushing next
Raxx how does this actually perform now that the patch is live?
I wish they had a "Chance to Evade Twice" temper for boots.
I agree with others here, the fun was the speed of moving through stuff. If I just want to hit hard there are lots of builds for that.
I never saw that coming..."😂
.. yeah I was already do this as I thought this would be the outcome
Where would this build be when vicious shield and block chance are fixed?
The trash.
What a shame :(
You can equip metamorphosis now to practice with the new animation
I have worked round the bugs and done all the season journey and all the new activities, I’m not going to waste time trying to masterwork unachievable gear to a T… See you all in season 7 folks!
Midnight Sun is a solid choice if you're struggling with cdr. You don't get any benefit from the unique aspect, but it's still got crit chance, crit damage, dex and cdr.
you loose your storm feather temper too, but for the road to cdr it might still be viable. thanks for the tip, gotta try it out till i find my amulet
@@Hakkdunu The storm feather potency temper isn't a great loss, it's like 50 or so when you've already got hundreds, but yeah it's just a stopgap measure til you can get a good ammy and MW everything
Keep in mind folks in order to do this you need to be unemployed like this guy and have nothing going on because you need a master work at 12 out of 12 all the stuff takes hours and hours of time that we don’t have
Seems like regular quill shot gonna be better now
The point of playing this build instead of quill volley is to zoom around, if that's gone there's no reason to play this build instead of the one that deals 10 times the damage. And remember to achieve the numbers he's showing and perma evading you need an insane amount of cdr, he has shako with triple masterwork bonus on CDR which is insane to get.
Sadly blizzard is killing the fun, at least for the majority of players that cannot afford to spend hours to either get 3 masterworks on cdr of shako or shako with GA (and probably 2 GA)
why inner calm when we keep moving?
i saw this build on a stream, which was the only reason i bought diablo, hearing this getting now i feel kinda sad lol and im not even half way through to get the build or start/play it~ T^T
I can confirm that you can kill lilith on torment 1 and get the spark I just did it this morning!
Man....I tried every single combination of aspects yesterday to boost my damage and you saved my ass! I knew it was that crap weapon's fault!
As an old pro player thank you! 😎
I didn't get a spark for killing tormented bosses... I've killed them all on t4 so I didn't think they were given that way
After the nerf will you even need so much CDR if you can only evade 2~ times a second? Seems like you could get some more damage out of this build with less CDR.
Finally got my second resplendent spark from lillith. Now im gonna get the shako
Season 5 wizards op with builds with double graphics and never nerf until next season is that what they promised
I've killed the tormented versions of all the bosses except lillith and have not gotten a resplendant spark from them. Must be only Lillith now.
You just need a Shako and bunch of top tier GA items with perfect rolls xD that's it! :D
BTW. this version of the build is called Pit pushing and that's nothing new, just requires a lot of gear just like Overpowered Quill.
Build nerfed? NP, just throw on a shako. . .lost me right there. I don't even consider builds that require RNG to get going because I would need a better build just to farm for a build that isn't even required by that point. Safe to say, nobody is going to really care about this build anymore unless they're being sweaty.
Hey Rax, could you share planner for your character to see what items/tempers/masterworks you run ? Cheers
Love how it's becoming diablo 3 . I hope for a pet build in future where you can just walk and your pets kill everything like the WD
You know, for people that just want the easy road, you can just play on "normal" and have the same brainless power fantasy with any build you throw together.
@@godofm3tal1 I don't like it because it's easy, I like it because I have fun with a pet class who's pets are the main focus. I also liked in d3 how I could build up the pet WD and have the character auto follow my girlfriend while I'm not actively playing to keep her alive lol. I realize that doesn't work in D4 though.
I alternate between these and self-built as well as meta try hard builds
So is this just the mythic version of the same build from maxroll?
Yes
Thanks for letting Blizzard know what to nerf extra this patch
LMAO I didn't even think Cooldown Reduction was a thing this season. I've played up to Paragon level 226 and STILL haven't gotten anything with cooldown reduction.
