Speed Skim | amzn.to/3YJMzGz
As a plasterer I admire anybody that isn’t s professional having a go. Have to say looks a decent job Burt! Fair play
Thanks mate!
Considering he’s a self taught plasterer, he’s very good. It’s one thing that I (also a professional DIY’er) have yet to master. 💂♂️🇬🇧
If Ur not a pro plasterer, how u know he's very good? Lol
Buy a pole and attachment for your speed skim for when you do ceilings takes all the effort out 👍
Thanks for the tip!
Only snag with a speedskim is any imperfections the speedskim will follow cant beat a trowel Finnish if slightly pulls too fast a sponge will help
Good job I am getting a plaster I am no spring chicken our back wall was so out of plumb to the was pipes and we blocked the back door so we built the wall out and put branches in for kitchen cupboards and put french doors on the opposite side great job guys
You're freaking hilarious - love your channel ❤
Thank you!
Well done, mate. very impressed
Thank you!
Really good job guys, your saving a packet by making a huge effort, well done to you both, your a great team 👍😎
Thank you!
Speedskim is amazing. Just did my lime plaster wall with it.
That DIY skimming is impressive. I wish I had the balls to attempt a whole room skim I would have saved thousands.
Thanks mate, give it a go!
I've done small areas with.... Mixed results lol
lol to the person talking
Bloody good job.
Thank you 🙏
I love her voice it’s so cute and relaxing
I’ve been a plasterer for 8 years now, just a couple tips
Try a bit less water when you’re trowling up, you just wasnt enough to lubricate the trowel
And when you’re putting the plaster on use the Marshall town trowel for the whole process. Bigger trowels are always more of a hassle and it looks new so a used trowel will always be better
Great job otherwise 💪
Thanks mate appreciate it!
Do you have any bigger ones you’d recommend? And how would you wear it in quickly?
Use less water? It’s all about the pressure during the closing in process, More water the better!!! Constantly clean the excess fat of your trowel after every other pass. Using clean water only. One for splashing one for cleaning. Two dry trowels preferably crossing the wall removing any excess water. Be Like glass and flat as a pancake
Lads done abit of skimming before 👍
If he’s done a bit of skimming before then I’m black 😂. Not a chance. Complete novice.
@@onthetrowel1895didn’t say that’s his game the lads done a decent job don’t hate give him a pat on the back
I reckon just for the cameras that . That trowel never been used before .plus a novice would never load his hawk up with so much skim . And what novice goes so slow when n plastering I used to be sweating my nuts off when I first started 😂
@@jharris7407 he using a medi flex an yea I hear what you saying but think he’s having a go good on him
Spot on 👍🏻
Yh speed skim pole helps with ceiling but Yh good job but least giving it a go as some people wouldn’t do it I been plastering 1.5 years now but Yh gd job
He's taking too long to put the gear on, it'll dry really quick.
Also never use a normal drill to mix it up, it'll ruin the drill. None the less, what a great job 👍
It’s an old drill so it’s fine to use instead of buying a mixer, but thanks for the tips, I’m getting faster every time👍
23 years on the trowel..fair play for giving it go.
Only tip i have is dont back stroke on wet trowel as ya will murder ya wrist.
Best of luck on your journey fella
I'm startin to feel sorry for Ewan, have you ever thought o dumpin her Ewan and gettin a new bird 👍😎
Every day🥲🤣
dont forget to mist coat before painting it 👍
Where is this home located ??
Fair enough that was good. TV still to high.
What size skim is he using?
Speedskim? 1.2m
Not his first rodeo
You can't fucking mix properly with battery drill fuck me . Not a bad finish though I must say. The expensive thistle bond isn't a requirement though only really really porus surfaces would I spend the extra over regular pva , water mix.
One coat ?
2 coats👍
I'm a plasterer ,and that ain't bad pal ,I've seen worse ,try use a less bit water tho 👊🏾❤️
Thanks mate, will do for next time👍🏻
@@reno_with_us get a Marshall town trowel abit deer but far better quality and easier to work with ,what area u from pal ,I'll give u hand if local ❤️👊🏾
Fair play to you guys.
I did the same around your ages and the hard graft does pay off. You can/will one day sit back a and take in all your hard work and it makes you appreciate it more.
If you need Any tips/advise you need on plumbing holla at me beacuse that’s my business. 👍😄😄
Thank you! We may take you up on that🤣👍🏻
