This guy has done a more than admirable job for the last what, 25 years? Stepped up. Much like that dude in Journey, Arnel, kept this bRand alive when they were already dead. Don't discount this guy's commitment and talent. Also much like Tommy and Eric in KISS. They have taken a lot of flack for being impostors, but what musician wouldn't take the role if offered to them? Time marches forward and has no mercy for those who can't keep up or those that are not available..
Scarey this song is 47years old heard this on the radio and ran out and bought the album at listen record's in Paisley i was 15 still listen to this album awesome
First I'm a die hard band Boston fan. Second, Brad killed this song in the studio with many takes to get it right and he was young. He had an incredible vocal range when he recorded it. Tommy kills it! Don't compare him to Brad. Later in his career, Brad feared this song because of the vocal range. Tommy at his age is doing an incredible job with this song. He sounds great, rested and ready for the next Boston tour.
That record arrived in Lima in 1980 and I ran to the store to buy it, I still have it (I'm 58 years old today), and those glorious highs of Brad made me believe that he wasn't human or that they had made it with some technology. that they were testing... hahaha nothing more absurd. Brad Delp is one of the most prodigious singers we are lucky to hear, and I think Tommy is close to him (of all who have tried to sing this song) but Brad is unique. Greetings from Lima, Peru
In 1976 I bought Boston's "Boston" album at Rocky Hill Flea Market in Rhode Island when I was 14. I still have it. I remember vividly the guy who owned the stand said to me, "Great choice kid!!" It's one of those experiences I never forgot. Now I'm 61 and still exploding it out of my speakers. No one to this day has that sound Boston has.
This is such a well written song that has stood the test of time. Perfect for headphones. The "soft to loud" dynamics. The vocal and instrumental build up to the near operatic soaring chorus (thank you, Brad Delp). The contemplative acoustic intro that immediately draws you in to the song's daydreaming theme. The crunchy to anthemic, majestic guitars. The rock solid drumming replete with fills that are just busy enough without being overbearing. The just plain everything of this song. After listening to it for nearly half a century it's supposed to make me sick with its familiarity, right? But it never does. Tom Scholz wrote and largely performed an essentially perfect power pop song. "Hitch A Ride" is also a masterpiece in the same vein. The bassist's energy and background singing on this live version are excellent. Overall this a great rendition of a very tough song to sing and replicate!!
Indeed.....Brad Delp is/was a hard act to follow, his voice was truly melodic and distinct and hitting those high notes would be no easy chore. But this fella did a mighty fine job. Coming from someone who used to cover a couple of Boston songs years ago. While we didn't do "More Than a Feeling, " because of the difficulty in the higher range notes, we did do several others that were not easy to do and still get good crowd reaction. In fact...this band together did a good job, of course the recording left a lot to be desired. But all-in-all quite good if you ask me!
Everyone here does know that this guy (Tommy Decarlo) is the current lead singer in Boston right ? Tom Scholtz hired him quite a few years ago because he does sound a lot like Brad Delp . tom found him on you tube .
...I have to say ...Im very IMPRESSED, ...Having dated a few Musicians, I know the work involved in doing a Cover Song.... THIS is the BEST RENDITION I'VE EVER HEARD. PERIOD. ( And I actually saw Boston, live , in the 80's.... one of the most amazing Concerts I've ever attended, and thete have been hundreds). This is NOT an easy Song , it was masterfully written by Tom Scholz, ..recorded by him, with Brad, using his equipment, in his basement. If people knew the Backstory of this Song, ...its just incredible. It gets better with Age ... I could listen to a hundred times , its thst kind of Song. Its saddening that Mr. Brad Delp felt such a loneliness in his Soul.... so much talent, and gone too soon. With all that said, the Bassist nails it ,as well... Really, this whole Band did something others have attempted, and failed .... Outstanding job . 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎶🎵✨️ It takes Faith in ones abilites, and even m o r e Faith to stretch those abilites ... its evident here . I realize that he actually tours with Boston, keeping this Music alive .... that in itself is no small tning. I think the crowd should have had much more Appreciation for this Band.
A very nice cover of Boston’s “More Than A Feeling!” It’s a tough song to vocalize well, and even Brad Delp admitted he had trouble hitting some of those highs if he wasn’t really prepared for them. That band’s lead singer did quite an admirable job, and has real talent. But I’d bet he doesn’t want to sing that song every night…
I'm one of the most critical critics alive. This song is the last song I would ever recommend anyone cover. There's just no way anyone could come close to Brad Delp. That being said, this was pretty awesome job. Not perfect, but maybe the best cover of Boston that I've ever seen. I'm sure Tommy would agree that to cover this perfectly is impossible and I'm sure it's one of the hardest songs in history to sing. So, great job. You earned my respect, and that doesn't come easy.
Absolutely love your female guitarist, I play in a band to, I enjoy the attention I get from men, could it be because I wear long black leather thigh high boots ! Would be fantastic to see her in same !...
So, years ago when I saw a couple of really good top 40 bands play this song, a GIRL always sung lead on it. LOL That being said, any male vocalist trying to do this songs has balls. Tommy DeCarlo did a good job. His real high note was in pure falsetto which is okay but it was not done in a "mixed voice" like Brad Delp. A mixed voice (1/2 falsetto, 1/2 head voice) has more power and a POINTED EDGE on it. Aside from that, good fuckin' job.
Love how bands like this keep the classics going and doing an AWESOME job at doing them with the correct notes as well.
Tommy fue el último vocalista de Boston
I love Boston.
RIP Brad Delp 🙏 No one can match your vocals
absolute fact! RIP Brad
Delp ; one of the greatest of all time!!!!
These people killed it though.. not enough recognition from the crowd
@@spuga17 This guy is the current singer for Boston when they do go out and tour .

thanks for keeping boston alive for the fans,i saw boston in concert in 1979
Me too. Best Song ever!
Bass player had a blast with this song. Great cover! Timeless classic

This young group did an excellent rendition of Boston's song "More than a Feeling"! RIP Brad Delp. Rock On! 🤘🤟🤙✊
Lets face it, there's some excellent musicianship there and the vocalist did a superb job. Keep making great music live on people.

Me encanta tu comentario. Siempre extrañaremos al original pero él lo hace excelente. Saludos
I believe boston is done
Tommy is in the studio w/Boston working a2024 release. Man with his beard graying, he is starting to LOOK like Brad
I don't think anyone on this stage was alive when Bostons first album came out

We miss you Brad. I'm sure you are proud of Tommy & Peyton for hitting the most epic high note ever in rock history. They do a good job of it.
I seen boston years back and they had a guest come out and play n sing. She was on americas got talent.
I'm not easily impressed but boy did you guys nail that. Happy to provide the hand claps if you need someone 👏👏👏
As a vocalist myself, I know the difficulty of this song, I also cover it. I have to say well done! Excellent cover.

I still have mine, too. I'm also 61😊

I've never heard a band do a cover of More Than A Feeling before, very respectable indeed.
My first ever girlfriend bought me the 45 of this decades ago, still spine tingling to this day and I always think of her when it plays. RIP Brad Delp
Damn hard to do Delp. A credible cover and I for one appreciate someone who can honor him
Good work guys (and gal). Keep the music alive.

Awesome job by everyone! Nobody can match Brad Delp, but Tommy does a fantastic job on this. Loved the energy from bassist Payton Rose Velligan!

DeCarlo sounds better on this song than I remember him sounding in a Boston concert.

God, I miss Brad Delp.
Is Tom Scholz not part of this group ?
It's not by Boston without Mr Shultz.
This is his own band.
Who is playing keyboards
A decent attempt. 🎉
Tommy tries so hard to be like Brad, but he just can't pull it off. There's only ONE Brad Delp.
He is good but no Delp.miss you Brad
