I've been running a Paradigm 2200 sub daily for the past 25 years. I originally paid $900+ tax and at the time it was considered a high-end sub, among the best. It's a beast of a sub and it sounds as good now as it did on day one. Decided I wanted to update my system and a subwoofer was the final thing I needed to get so I went with the SVS PB4000 which cost about $2,300. This turned out to be a huge letdown because my 2200 absolutely destroys the PB4000 and that's with 25 years of daily usage! Looking at my new SVS, I'd say there's no chance in hell this thing will be still working in 25 years. Quality and performance in the audio world has taken a nosedive. You can still get great gear but you're paying twice as much for it now as you were 25 to 35 years ago. I've heard so many great things about these SVS subs and I wonder to myself, have these people ever actually heard a really good sub?
I had 2 of these SVS subs,the other one blew as well not long after this one,luckily it was still under warranty. I got rid of them,they are junk.

@@theperkule I didn't have the PB16 Ultra to compare it to. These PB4000 are junk,I had 2 and both of the driver blew.

Just a bit of advice from a keyboard warrior. When you tighten the screws you should treat it like a tire on your car and tighten them in a star pattern. Cheers 🍻

What made the driver fail? And how much did the replacement cost?
Probably manufacture defect, the replacement driver was free under warranty.
Wow the driver and the amplifier damage at the same time ?
Only the driver is damaged. To replace the driver the amp have to be removed.
SVS has quality control issues. I had 3 SB 3000'S go down within a month and SVS customer service is so so. They replaced the subs and when the replacements arrived I tried to connect wirelessly through the app to them and the serial number was different in the app from what's on the boxes and the rear of the subs. I contacted SVS back to inquire about this issue and they've been ignoring my emails. I think SVS sent me refurbished Subs for replacements but they told me they were shipping me new subwoofers.
Too many quality issues with SVS subs... that's how Arendal started.
They were SVS distributor before starting their own brand.
Both of the SVS subs blew, I just got rid of it.
